Things started off poorly when I arrived for an appointment that I had scheduled in advance and was told I didn't have one. After showing voicemail messages and phone records confirming the appointment, it was acknowledged that I did have one, but I was informed that several other vehicles would now be ahead of me. Over the next several months, with my approval, additional work was added beyond the original estimate. When I finally received the vehicle back, the bill was nearly three times higher than the original quote. Unfortunately, the vehicle immediately developed a severe oil leak from the valve cover area. I was instructed to bring it back, but no tow was offered or suggested despite the severity of the leak. I checked the oil level and attempted to drive it back to the shop. The engine failed and locked up just a couple of miles away, requiring me to have it towed in. After discussing the situation, we agreed that installing a rebuilt engine would be a fair resolution. I agreed to pay $500 for labor and another $500 to add wiring for the oil pressure and generator warning lights. Nearly a year later, I received a call that the vehicle was finally ready for pickup. However, it barely made it a couple of blocks before I discovered the brakes were dragging badly. This was especially frustrating because brake work had been part of the original repair request. The shop kept the vehicle for another couple of weeks before I was able to pick it up for a third time. At that point, I was informed that the newly installed engine would carry absolutely no warranty. After all the time, money, and frustration involved, I ultimately sold the vehicle just to recover some of my expenses. Throughout the entire process, the attitude and communication were overwhelmingly negative and only seemed to worsen over time. What's particularly disappointing is that I used this shop about 17 years ago and received excellent service. I later learned that the mechanic who performed that work has since passed away. Sadly, the quality of service I received this time was nothing like what I remembered. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. I would never want someone else to go through what I experienced here.

However, when they finally got around to looking at it, I got a call saying the batteries and terminals needed to be replaced. The thing is, my batteries never had any issues -- a simple cleaning would have been more than enough. Instead, they went ahead and installed two new batteries and claimed to have cleaned the terminals. By the time they were done, my bill was nearly $800, and the original issue -- the fuel pump -- wasn't even addressed. I could have easily replaced the batteries and cleaned the terminals myself for a fraction of the cost. What's worse is this isn't the first time we've had issues with this shop. We brought our Jeep in multiple times as well, and it also never came back fully fixed. We've been loyal customers, but this last experience has left us feeling taken advantage of and extremely disappointed. I can't recommend this shop anymore and will be looking elsewhere for future repairs.

They are always honest about what I'm expected to pay for the service and never go the cheap route when it comes to replacing anything on my car or servicing it. I don't even live in Canby anymore and still bring my car to them because I know the job will always be done right and sometimes they will get it done sooner than expected. Also it's always nice walking into the shop and they remember you by name especially a place where most people feel overwhelmed taking their car in to get serviced for the first time... needless to say you should feel very confident getting work done here!

They had the car for only about an hour and noted A TON of things "wrong" with the car or needing parts like spark plugs, air filters, etc. I thought they were right and didn't think anything of it. They even said the "clutch was dirty" idk how they were able to look at the clutch in less than an hour without dropping the transmission lol. After talking to the dealer it took about 30 seconds to dismiss almost every claim Mountain Tech had noted and realize they didn't inspect the car at all and didn't actually look at anything. As I stood there I was shown brand new spark plugs, extremely clean new air filters, and other things they noted were clearly in a very different condition than what Mountain Tech had noted on their inspection report. After a few hours they called and went over the couple issues they had found and should be replaced which they were very nice and helpful. They found that one control arm had some play in it and should be replaced, the brake vacuum was bad, and one of the window switches auto up didn't work. After taking this to the dealer they fixed the issue and all was well. After driving 100 miles back home we noticed the car didn't handle any bumps or turns very well. We took it to a local mechanic where they found the following wrong with it- Self leveling shock system (air bags and shocks) torn and blown out- $1500 Compressor for shocks burnt out and hasn't been operational for a long time- $1000 Upper passenger control arm causing stability issues and creaking (needs replaced and alignment)- $950 We paid $199 to have them check the important components of a car before buying. Now we are stuck with a bill totaling over $3000 on a vehicle with less than 150 miles from us driving it. Do not take your car here for pre-purchase inspections. These are all common failure points for this vehicle with this many miles as confirmed with multiple other trusted local mechanics in our area. The least they could do is refund this inspection fee to help cover the cost of repairs of a car we wouldn't have bought in the first place if due diligence was done as we trusted it would be.

Situ: picked up and left with the car post service and saw the drip leak later on. They were near closed down on a Friday and Craig took it on himself to get it pulled in, look at it, pop it up on the lift. He looked a bit PO'd knowing that someone dropped the ball and then he - himself fixed it on the spot. He gets kudos for going through the hassle and giving me a very honnest appraisal of the situation as they performed maintenance, upgrades, replacements. Highest Recommendations!
