This is an optometry practice and optician / eyeglasses business combined in a convenient to access…read morelocation in Meridian. I went in looking for options in the latter and was impressed with both the selection of frames and the customer service from the young optician who helped me. The opitical sales space is open and well lit with windows all around which helps when evaluating the color of frames. The array of options is greater than one initially thinks given frames are organized in groupings that are spread out in the store. Choices were easy to navigate because the optician knew not only the brands they carried to easily zero in on what might work for me, not just for style but for quality given I have been using higher end brands for several years, but also for frame parameters needed given I the "high minus" correction I have, in particular in one eye. They carry a well curated selection in a wide range of price points including a couple of top end independent lines not found many other places in the Treasure Valley, like Orgreen Optics, and also a very good selection of more affordable but still considered premium quality independent brands like SALT. I didn't find frames that worked for me this time but it is a place I recommend it just as I found this business because a friend whose husband had a great experience having his glasses made here recommended it to me. ACCESSIBILITY: ADA parking in front of the building. Completely accessible inside.

Probably the best prescription in eye care that I've had in years, so I'm so glad that I chose this as my new eye care location! Cons - They're automated text messages need some work, because I got an urgent appointment reminder over a month before my appointment, and then later, after I picked up my new eyewear I got a message that it was ready to come and pick up.

If you're looking for Oliver Peoples eyeglass frames, this is THE place in the Boise area to find a…read moretop notch selection of them in many styles, sizes and colors as well as an impressive array of quality frames in other brands. Add in skilled opticial specialists, thanks to both Amy and Wylie, and their knowledge in size, style and fit, this is as easy as eyeglass shopping gets once you are in the door. (I'll come back to that.) SELECTION & SERVICE: My husband has been on the hunt for an additional pair of sunglasses and he found Ray Bans here that were just what he had in mind but wanted them in polarized lenses. Amy ordered them and they were in within two weeks time. I knew what OP frames I was looking for and while they had them in store, not in the smaller sizes I needed and she ordered those as well, in addition to a couple of others I wanted to consider. Wylie was particularly helpful in offering expert feedback on how the frames fit once the ordered items arrived. It is early days; I haven't had the lenses made yet but I anticipate a great outcome on those as well. Service plays the key role on why we went in to begin with when I called to ask whether they carried Oliver People's frames and I was able to talk to someone who could answer my questions. That is increasingly rare these days so kudos to them for making it easy. PRICE POINTS & OPTIONS: They offer 50% off each additional pair of eyeglass frames when you buy one so I'm buying at least two pair, maybe a third, Add in the pair my husband purchased, that is three or maybe four pair of eyeglasses here because not only their selection is good but their service is great. (Even if the parking lot made it difficult for me to get in the door. I'll come back to that.) If you're on a tight budget, ask the optical specialists about some special low cost frames, they have them in a couple of tucked away cases, that with prescription lenses added can come in at maybe as little as under $150 total. ACCESSIBILITY: Nicely accessible interior; all on one floor, ample room for path of travel for buyers who might use wheelchairs to look at the displays. Accessible seating at fitting tables. My husband reports the loo is accessible too. The rub is the parking lot in this relatively newly built (sometime in 2000s) mostly medical or medical adjacent service provider buildings strip complex is neither ADA (law) nor Idaho Building Code compliant (Accessibility Chapter 11) for parking. For this building strip there is only one, non van accessible, spot at the far end of the strip. Given that is the only curb ramp location, if you are unable to step up over a curb, it will between difficult to impossible to get in the door. MY SOAP BOX: I said I'd come back to this; Accessibility law and code for parking responsibility of whomever owns the parking lot but 36 years after the laws and codes were established (1990) it is mind boggling this is wrong and it prevents disabled people from equal access to this good business. (Yep, I have a dog in this hunt since I have had multiple sclerosis since college days.) The owners might think of that and put some pressure on the lot owner given we with disabilities spend money too.

The doctor and staff were courteous and professional. I had very thorough eye examination followed…read moreby an explanation of all the results. Afterwards I was assisted selecting a pair of glasses from the great selection available. No pressure at all from the techs pushing certain frames. Once the prescription was filled, I picked up the glasses, the tech fit them perfectly.

In December 2014, our two year old had some cavities filled. We were told by their office manager…read moreat the time that she had received pre-authorization for the procedure from our insurance. Nine months later, we received a bill from Southern Idaho Surgery Center telling us that we owed them a very large amount of money. I called and talked to their current office manager and she told me that she would check with the medical director to see what kind of arrangement they could make for me. I told her that if they would be able to split the difference or reduce it in any way, I would pay the entire amount at that time. She said she would call me back but never did. I received another bill a month or two later. I called again to ask if she had spoken to the medical director and she assured me that she would. She never called back. I got my last bill and it said I needed to pay the full amount or I would be sent to collections. I called to talk to the medical director and was told they would pass my information to him. He never called me but he did tell the person I called that they would reduce the bill for me but I had to pay that day. It was already 3:30 PM, so close to closing time. I told her that I didn't have the money right then and how could they think this was good customer service? I was furious with this and couldn't believe they would treat a customer like this. If this billing issue would have been resolved in the first month I got the bill, I would have been happier and not be writing this. I think it is terrible customer service when the medical director can't even pick up the phone to discuss this with me. During one of the calls to them I even changed my address to show that I wasn't trying to avoid paying. I have never been sent to collections and all I wanted was for them to work with me to pay a reasonable amount-especially since we were told that this was pre-authorized by their previous office manager! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I was told that they were in the process of catching up because their previous office manager did not do a good job. However, I don't see that as being my fault and maybe they should have worked with me a little more. At least return my phone calls when they told me they would. As a side note and one thing that might be a positive is that everyone I did speak to was really nice and never rude. That doesn't excuse them from providing the highest level of service though.
