Shortly after filling out my new patient information I was called into the examination room by another pleasant young lady, who was very thorough. The doctor who reviewed my information and checked my vision was very kind, patient, understanding. Given Wrong Prescription, I been feeling this for a while now, especially when the doctor asks me to see my old container contact prescription; rather than just give me his own results. He says I believe your a -6.25 but they don't make it in that and I think the -6.5 be to strong. (-6.5 got on my own is not strong one bit. Nor did he even try. He just gave me the same prescription from that was also on my old container. Same script for 3 years.) Looking back at my year 2020 old prescription and the new 2023 one Visionary Eye Care in Queens Village Gave Me, something is very off. 2020 it shows my left is is weaker, but now his 2023 results claim my right eye is weaker and by far much. Yet if his numbers are true, then In fact he should prescribed me -6.5 for contacts. Seriously, I didn't want in to get the same prescription strength and I told him I needed stronger and he says yes best be -6.25 but they don't make that. So why would u prescribe a weaker prescription??? I Do Not Recommend and Nor Would I Go Back. read more

Horrible experience! Manager Uma I believe is horrible, rude and a liar. Staff does not know what they are doing. I was at first quoted same day lenses change then it changed to 7 business days. I was first told my lenses will be 135$ then it changed to 165$ I accepted that. Maybe it is was a minor calculation error I told myself. Thanks Once the glasses were ready for pick up I sent my boyfriend to pick them up. They gave them to him without any questions. They did not confirm who he was nor asked for ID. When I received them from him I noticed the original lenses were not with my glasses. I contacted the store regarding this matter and it was so distasteful how the manager spoke to me. She then told me my bf told her to throw them away as she spoke to me trying to belittle me quick to use the I am yelling method to rush me off the phone when in fact I was just looking for a resolution or understanding on why would any one dispose something that is not theirs. Please keep in mind these are miu miu glasses pricing at 680$ I expect all my spare parts to be returned with my glasses. I told her we will need to resolve this matter somehow and she hung up on me. My boyfriend went back to see what was going on being that noone ever asked him to dispose the original lenses. Once he walked in the manger was right there recognized him and guess what was right with her the lenses that were she claimed "disposed of" with my full name written on it in a zip-lock bag. He asked her why would you say I told you to throw away something that does not belong to me the manager said she never said that. Which in-fact she did tell me on a recorded line. She then asked my bf for his id and began writing down his name and id number . He noticed things were strange and asked for his id back and the lenses. His concern was why would you ask for my id now when you did not ask when he initially picked up the frames days prior her excuse was this is protocol. I would never again bring my business here. I was passing by and received a flyer for the store. They were having a grand opening today and I decided to stop by. The interior of the store was very clean and bright. I was able to meet the optometrists and they were all professional and friendly. I had my eyes checked and I was able to see the wide variety of glasses they had in store! They have nice, high end frames as well as the more affordable ones. I saw Dr. Tao and he told me that if I order the frames with them, I will get it within the week at most and on average 2 business days! I will definitely bring my family and friends here! I usually don't leave Yelp reviews for non-food establishments, but my experience at Visionary Eye Care was so stellar that I had to make an exception. I decided to give this place a shot for my annual eye exam and the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the modern take on the design of the office. Clean, bright, light-grey floors, and very open-concept (unlike many other doctors' offices that make you feel like youre walking back into the 1970s). The front office receptionist greeted me with a kind smile (great attitude), took my temperature (made sure to check for any signs of COVID), and gathered my information/documents right before my appointment. This process was seamless. While in the waiting area, you can pass the time by browsing a wide variety of top notch modern-styled frames. However, I didn't have to wait too long before I was called in for my appointment. That was another huge plus. I dread the thought of going to any doctor's office simply because my 9:30am appointment ends up starting at 10:30am. 1, 2, 3. My check up is done and I am given professional recommendations on my vision, how to improve it, and what types of glasses to get if needed (blue light glasses to protect from the computer screen that I stare at all day and etc). I recommended this place to my family that lives in Queens and they also had nothing but great things to say about this establishment. Needless to say, I will not be going to any other Optometry office in the future. PS- with my purchase, i received a very cool bag (recyclable/resuable bag) that had a quirky quote on it. I just moved to NY, and stumbled across Visionary Eye Care over the weekend. The store was clean, organized and the staff were all very welcoming. It was great to see the store taking precautionary measures for COVID by limiting the number of customers in-store, having temperature checks, and constantly disinfecting any products or devices once it's been used. Dr Tao was the optometrist who conducted my eye check-up that day, and the service he provided was exceptional. He was professional and patient in answering questions I had about the check-up process, and also helped with selecting a pair of glasses that suited my needs without compromising on the style I was going for. They had a large selection of styles available, which was overwhelming at first but Dr Tao helped to narrow it down according to what I liked making this process a lot easier! Being someone who hates trying new things, I was reluctant in finding a new optometrist after having recently moved back to NYC. Whether it's unprofessional staff or an inexperienced doctor, I've always found it stressful finding good healthcare providers. So when I find a good one, I latch on and never let go. This is one of those cases. I heard about Visionary Eye Care from a friend so I decided to check them out this past weekend. I went with my girlfriend and we discovered a clean office with a welcoming, friendly staff. They seem to be doing a great job maintaining COVID safety protocols. Everyone was wearing masks and they've taken the time to distribute appointments throughout the day so that there's never too many people in the store. The front desk took our insurance information with no issues. The assistant was very friendly and helped both my girlfriend and I at the same time, conducting some comprehensive eye exams for us (including a visual field test and taking photos of the back of our eyes) and explaining each step whenever we had a question. After we finished the tests, we met Dr. Fong, who I must say has been the highlight of this experience. In the past, I've been given incorrect prescriptions as a result of optometrists rushing me through the typical eye exam, growing impatient whenever I was unable to give an adequate response to the dreaded "1 or 2" question within a short amount of time. Dr Fong was extremely patient with my indecisiveness, occasionally doubling back to make sure that I felt comfortable with the resulting prescription. He also took extra time at the end of the exam to address any concerns or random dumb questions that I had. All in all, this was a great experience. I believe I have found my NYC optometrist. This is one of the worst eye cares I ever been too. I started to go in 2020 and returned back this year. I decided to return back because I was in need of an updated contact lenses prescription for the year. I went, seen the doctor and out of no where he told me I had to pay a fee for the contact exam. I was a bit confused about it and thought it was weird they are charging me a fee because when I went to them in 2020 I wasn't charge anything FOR THE SAME EXACT TESTS!!!! I called my insurance and they told me the test is covered. I called them a representative send she will have the manager Uma call me. She called me the next day and when I asked her why I wasn't charged for this same test in 2020, she said she doesn't know she wasn't here. They charged me out of pocket FOR NO REASON!!!! Please don't go here. Find a better doctor who won't charge you and steal your money just to make profit when it is something so simple that the insurance can pay for. The staff is horrible.
