I've been going here for years with more success than other reviewers. I get my yearly eye exam here and it is always quick, helpful, and covered by my insurance. The frame selection is good, but on the pricey side once you stray into the Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, etc. sections. That being said, they typically have buy one get one free promotions, or a buy one get one half off promotion they allow you to combine with insurance. She made my family feel important and ensured the glasses were fitting properly, working properly and was the appropriate frame for my 6 year old son, first time wearer. The Eye Doctor was great with my son! He was professional and patient and made my son feel comfortable during his eye exam. Will definitely use this location again. Had a bad experience last year with the Doctor claiming to have done a hard contact exam when he just pulled the information from the last exam time about 4 years ago - and there's an extra fee for this. I complained about this the manager said she'd have a different doctor do the exam. Came back a second time and that doctor said no I won't get in the middle of this - so wasted time. I did receive my money back. Recently I started getting texts and emails about an appointment that I scheduled there - NOT. When I finally called about it because it was becoming annoying the person who answered the phone was rude about canceling it. DON'T go there. read more

I brought my mother-in-law here for an eye exam! Setting up the appointment over the phone was quick and easy. We arrived early for the appointment and the doctor was at lunch, no prob. We filled out the necessary paperwork. The lady in the front was friendly and helpful. The guy that did her glaucoma test was extremely friendly and sociable. I enjoyed interacting with him. The doctor was ok as well. He was thorough and kept repeating her results to ensure she understood. After the exam we picked out her glasses. They had a large selection with pretty decent variety. If you prefer name brand, they only a had few different name brands. We chose the frames covered by her insurance and they actually had her lenses already in store. The lady told us to come back in an hour. And in exactly one hour, her glasses were definitely ready!! I had no problems with the staff at this location. They were helpful, thorough and friendly. Bad customer service! I don't get how you can walk into a store with at least 3 employees standing there and not get greeted by a single one. Also I spent roughly 20 minutes or so looking at frames and no one offered any assistance or asked if I was okay. Only one girl was working the front desk when I came, and the phones were ringing. Someone asked how come you are not answering the phone. She took at least 2 calls before helping me. Then, told another customer we help customers in store first. Then, another person started to help me then said "o they were recalled" really? Then she helps another person why helping me...I find this very very rude. She finally said they were recalled because Acuve isn't selling the six box anymore so we sent them back. Well this the only place I cannot get the six pack. If they are not selling it anymore don't say they were recalled.. I was also told it would it would take 10 days to get in. When I first started coming here everyone was friendly now they are not. They lost a customer. read more

I have been to this office about many times in the last 9months and have had 2 eye exams, purchased 2 pairs of glasses and got contacts for the first time. I have had a good experience every time. They are usually very busy but seem to be well staffed. They have fixed issues I have had quickly and without a bunch of drama. I would recommend this office to anyone in the area. read more

The VisionWorks in Laurel, MD understands "true customer service." On a very hot, 96 degree day--August 29--I walked into this store without an appointment and requested service. One of the lenses popped out of the frame and I couldn't get it all the way back in. Truthfully, I didn't expect them to help me because I didn't have an appointment, and I had purchased the eyeglasses several years ago before the location became VisionWorks. The receptionists, Frankie, greeted me with a smile, took my glasses back to a repair person and returned within 5 minutes with the lens back in my glasses. And, didn't charge me one cent. I was so thoroughly impressed with such fantastic customer service!! So, where do you think I'm going when I'm ready for my next pair of eyeglasses. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I have been told not to go to this particular location by many people, but I did it anyway thinking it wouldn't be that bad. Huge mistake! My son's glasses should've been ready Saturday evening. I informed the gentleman assisting me that Instead of coming back Saturday evening I would pick the glasses up on Sunday. He assured me they would be ready Saturday without any hesitation, and picking them up the next day or any day after would not be a problem. I returned the next day in the afternoon. I was acknowledged when I walked in, but stood at the front desk for 15 minutes before someone approached me to ask what I needed help with. The staff member that did assist me was extremely unprofessional to say the least. Before assisting me she was loudly complaining about work related issues in the middle of the store. She had no concern for the customers or coworkers around. When she finally went to the back to retrieve the glasses she returned and walked to another staff member and began giggling about how my glasses weren't ready but that she didn't want to be the one to tell me. I assume for some reason she thought I couldn't hear her 4 feet away from me. The rude staff member's coworker then politely explained that my glasses were not ready and blamed it on the tech. She said I could pick them up in the morning and I left. I didn't receive a phone call that the glasses weren't ready at the appointed time. I wasted 20 minutes of my time and walked out empty handed. The customer service was horrible! I wouldn't recommend Visionworks to anyone. read more

When I first wanted to get contacts back in August 2014, I came to vision works. They gave me a pair to try out and when I kept trying to put them in they would burn, and when I told the girl working there who was teaching me at the time how to put in and take out the contacts, she told me to suck it up. I keep the contacts for a few days and called back and said that they were still burning, I was told that it was normal. I stopped wearing the contacts for a month because I felt that they just weren't for me until a month later a coworker told me that contacts should never burn when you wear them so I went back to vision works. The doctor told me I should I call over a month ago when they first started burning, and when I told him that I did call, he ended up giving me a different brand to try but he also tried to charge me for the follow up appointment because I didn't come back in within 30 days. I ended up getting the appointment for free after talking to a manager and the new contacts did feel better than the old ones, but when I came back in a week later to order a 3 month supply, the could not order me any because they couldn't remember which pair they gave me in the first place! I ended up going over to pearle vision and what do you know? Turns out the contacts visionworks gave me weren't the correct size for the eyes (I also had a blurriness issue with the contacts from vision works, when I talked to the doctor at vision works he said it was normal and to buy reading glasses)! Since going to pearle vision my contacts no longer burn, my contacts don't slide when I look to the left or right, and my vision is no longer blurry when I wear them. read more

Terrible customer service at this location AND Arundel Mills. I decided to give Laurel a try after having a bad experience at Arundel Mills as soon as walking into the store but I regret doing so. I think Visionworks randomly picks any applicant from a lottery or something for the employees that are not respectful. Anyway, The two associates at Arundel Mills simply ignored me (I think one was a manager) so they did not acknowledge me and my two daughters despite me standing IN FRONT of them for at least 5 minutes and they even dared of talking about a Client (HIPPA VIOLATION). As far as the Laurel location, I think they are unprofessional. The doctor prescribed reading glasses for my 9-year and she didn't even need the glasses (the company that was bought by visionworks) thought it would be better but Never again! I Do NOT recommend I can't even submit this review unless I rate it with at least one star but they don't deserve it but oh well :) read more
