I went to my annual eye doctor appointment and wound up with a new prescription for contacts and glasses. Given that I have vision insurance and that I've gone to another Visionworks store in the past where I had a great experience, I went to this location nearby. Admittedly I was dreading this chore, mainly because anyone who knows me knows I absolutely detest wearing my glasses. Yes, I know that I need to rest my eyes, and I do wear them, just not in public (unless I am given no choice). I hadn't bought a pair of glasses in two or three years as my main form of vision correction is contacts, but eh, my vision changed enough to justify a new pair. That and my insurance covers a new pair every couple of years anyway. It was time, even if I loathed to admit it. I went in and didn't wait long on a Saturday afternoon. Ginny was my girl and she's a star at customer service. She made me feel super heard, especially considering she checked several options for me in terms of my insurance plan. What I mean by that is that she made sure I got the best deal possible. Of course, too, she helped me pick out a new pair of glasses, which was a pain in itself as I have a small face. Oh, and she placed the order for contact lenses, too, but that was honestly the easy part. I ended up getting told I'd get my items in around ten days or so, and well, that's exactly how it went. I found out via text and via e-mail. There was only one slight issue. While I was notified of my glasses being ready, my contacts kept being listed as order pending. I had to call to figure out what was going on. Once an employee finally answered, it turns out that my contacts were ready, too, and that the website just had a mind of its own. Needless to say, the technology aspect needs some work. Otherwise, everything ran smoothly, and upon picking up my items, I even saw Ginny again, who helped mold the glasses to the proper fit for me. She also let me know that if anything I could return and get them further fixed. read more

I have been to many optical retail chain stores throughout my life, and out of all (LensCrafters, MyEyeLab, Pearle Vision) of them, THIS Visionworks location is the best! The staff had a sign-in sheet (the first I've ever seen in any of these chain stores) to make sure they take people in order of their arrival. Ginny is an absolute gem. She was honest, truthful, and willing to go the extra mile to see what price option worked best for me and my vision insurance. I never felt rushed while I debated between two frames, even when it was just her and one other associate attempting to tend to a roomful of customers. Their frame selections for petite faces is a little bit lacking, but every other retail store had about the same inventory. Now, Dr. Nguyen is the BEST I've ever had. She listened to my concerns about my vision and took EXTRA TIME to triple check my prescription and eye tracking. I have never had an OD who cares as much as Dr. Nguyen. She has been the only provider to ever explain the notches on my contacts and why certain brands/types of contacts never worked with my astigmatism. I wish I was a patient of hers sooner. With these two wonderful women and their team, I will never go anywhere else. Don't listen to all of the negative reviews because it does NOT do this team justice. I am very happy with the service and care I received at this store. I had originally purchased glasses at a Visionworks Store in a different state. I was unable to see through the new lenses. Because I had moved shortly afterward I didn't think that anything could be done. However Visionworks Customer Service is excellent. Even though I was living in a different state, Hector, the Regional Manager offered for me to have another eye exam and replace the lenses of my new glasses at a store close to my new home. I chose the Pembroke Pines location.The manager, Bermarys,(sp?) contacted me and was able to schedule an optometrist appointment for me on the same day we spoke. The Pembroke Pines store staff were extremely nice and helpful. Jeannie, the optometry tech ran some quick tests to make sure that my eyes were healthy. The optometrist, Dr. Nguyen was very thorough and listened to my concerns. She discovered that I needed a stronger prescription from the previous one. That was why I had been unable to see with the previous rx. After the eye exam I gave the optometry tech my new but unworn glasses. She submitted it to the lab for a replacement of the lenses with the new prescription. My Visionworks glasses are now better than ever. I am thrilled with the service and with my new glasses. I can now wear them every day and get so many compliments on the fashionable frames. Thank you Visionworks! read more

I set an appointment the day before and arrived a few minutes before my scheduled time. The entire staff up front was nice enough and they gave me some paperwork to fill out. After I turned in all my docs they did the little puff of air in your eye test and had me wait for the doctor. A few minutes later I was reading letters off the chart. He explained that my vision had gotten a little worse. Then we began talking contact lenses. He flipped my eyelids and told me that they were a little irritated and he would give me a couple dailies for now, to see which works best, then we can decide on a monthly. When he said he would give me a few samples, that's what I expected. Nope. He gave me a TON of samples. Various brands, so I can find the one that I liked the best. It's been a few weeks now, and I still have samples I am going through! I love the idea of the dailies as I always have a fresh pair in my eyes. I will be back soon to choose a brand for my monthly lenses. read more

Do yourself a great favor, do not make an eye exam appointment and do not bother to expect any type of service at this location. I made an appointment weeks ago, came in on time, and was pushed behind for walk-ins. The worst part is that it seems to be a requirement to be a rude and disrespectful person, and also have zero people skills. They will shrug, and give you the "oh, well ..." treatment if you dare ask anything at the front desk. So, if you expect anything close to a pleasant or respectful experience, take your business somewhere else. read more

I went by Visionworks Pembroke Pines for my usual eye exam and Jheanel, Sigried and Dr. Nguyen were TOTALLY AMAZING! To begin with I left my Insurance card and Jheanel looked it up for me by using my place of employment. I saved $90 because she did that for me. Jheanel's attitude and professionalism were superb and she has a sweet warm presence. Dr. Nguyen was also amazing and thorough. She creates a very professional and pleasant practice and informs you each step of the way. Sigried assisted me to maximize all that my insurance offered and made sure I got the best fit, style and best price. Her personality was very jovial and caring and she too enhanced my experience. I needed my glasses ASAP. I can barely drive without them so I made an appointment for Sunday at 12:00pm. I called in telling them that I was going to be about 15 minutes, and the young lady who answered said it was no problem, that they'll see me soon. I get there around 12:15 and NO ONE GREETED ME AT ALL. I was right in front of the lady to see if she would say anything or ask if I needed assistance. Nothing. I look to my right and noticed a different section of the office called "eye exam." I talked to Amy, which was the sweetest and most bubbly person in that office. She was welcoming and had great people skills. After telling her about my appointment, she said she will be with me in a moment. I waited about 30-45 minutes to get my exam after that, in the mean time, I was looking for my pair of frames (which were out if stock). After waiting and taking my complete eye exam. I sort of meet Miles or Myles. He was extremely rude and sarcastic. Because my frames were out of stock and I needed then adapter, he said he can sell me the display and I asked him at what price and he told me the same price. They were scratched and used so i don't think that was far. He sarcastically smiled and walked away from me. Like what the hell? I noticed afterwards that he ignored me when I would try to ask him a question and the way he spoke to his employees was insulting, even for me. He didn't want to help me from the beginning. He would see me struggle with finding a pair of glasses and he wouldn't even try to help. ALL IN ALL, Xiong and Michelle and Amy are the reason I didn't leave and went to lens crafters. If it wasn't for them I would have never stepped foot in there again and not to mention that I've been a loyal customer with them for years, my mother too. So I don't know. If I'll ever come back. The eye doctor's attitude wasn't so swell either so maybe not. read more

Even though I had a bad experience at their Plantation location, I decided to give this one a chance. I walked in around 9:45am on a Saturday and I did get greeted right away although there were no other customers in the store so I better get a hello! The store associate asked what I needed and I replied that not only did I need my current glasses adjusted, I was also looking for new glasses. He took my glasses (I have never had someone try and adjust my glasses in this manner) and told me to look around b/c the adjustments will take a few minutes. He comes back about five minutes later and my glasses are way too tight to the point that they actually are hurting me and giving me a headache. He takes them back and tells me to continue to look around. Another five minutes goes by and he reappears and once again, my glasses are too tight; however, this time I just deal with it knowing that I probably will be leaving soon anyway. The associate tries to help me find new glasses but isn't very successful and then he suggests I look at the really expensive frames such as Gant, Harley and Guess. As he is showing me these frames, he gets called away and passes me off to a woman who not only barely speaks English, but has no idea what I am looking for. After I explain to her what I want, she proceeds to show me frames that aren't even close to what I want nor are they are they in my price range. It doesn't help that I barely understand what she is trying to say to me. At this point, I tell her that I can't find what I am looking for and I start to leave. She tries to convince me to put a pair on hold and pay for them b/c I can exchange them if I don't like them. What? Why would I pay for glasses that I don't want? She also tried to tell me that she could swap out frames and lenses (mix-and-match) even though the first associate related that they cannot do that. At this point, I just left b/c I couldn't take anymore of these shenanigans. With two bad experiences at Visionworks, I won't be going back to any location in the foreseeable future. read more

Today I have a really good positive comment for this location unlike the other comments I've previously read. I had called about replacing the lenses on my sunglasses I bought 1 year ago. I was told it was no longer insured. I ended up coming into the store only to be blessed by Erick who did the impossible and was able to help me and not loose me as a customer. He's a people person and he understood how upset I was that I may have to buy a new pair which I wasn't going to do and came through for me. This place is just ok. I wouldn't come back here again though. I ended up choosing this place because it's covered by my eye vision insurance, my fiancé recently had an appointment with them and had no complaints, and I was in desperate need of a new contact lens prescription. So far I've been here twice, the first appointment was better than the second, the second being a follow up. The employees working on the glasses display side were always friendly, greeting every customer, including myself, that came in. However, on the side where you have your eye appointment at, there's either no one there or a strange man who seems to be the doctor's assistant but honestly doesn't do much except look at his phone squinting the entire time. He sort of creeps me out, not gonna lie haha. As for the actually optometrist/ophthalmologist (I'm not sure which one he is), Dr. Kennedy gave me an over all weird vibe. Don't get me wrong, he is nice and professional and during the first visit he actually grew on me because of the way he listened to me about my concerns regarding my contacts and recent eye irritation. He gave me some advice on eye care and free samples to test out. I came back one week later for a follow up, that creepy guy still there on his phone not doing anything, and the follow up was honestly "meh". Dr. Kennedy didn't really seem to want to listen to my issues about one of the products he gave me to try and just kept making excuses and trying to solve my problem for me. I felt like he wasn't understanding what I was saying and looked at me like I'm an idiot that doesn't know how to read directions. He asked if I want to continue to test out the new contacts and products, I said I would, but I honestly just wanted my contact prescriptions, to order them, and never come back. The service there is really whatever. I've definitely had better experiences from other doctors in the past. I will most likely never come back here, expect to pick up my contacts I just ordered haha. read more

I had my eyes examined by the doctor on duty. Nice enough. However, upon trying to get the prescription made thru visionworks, I found that the whole goal of the the staff was to SELL. The advertised offers were "Bait and Switch". My insurance covered 1 pair of glasses free bu I ended up paying $180 for another pair of glasses. After all this both pair of glasses were made incorrectly. Upon returning to have the glasses re-made, I was greeted with a very unprofessional attitude by both the "sales" girl, Andrea I believe, and the "manager" AnaMarie. I ended up getting the district leader or whatever his title is, Pablo, involved to get the problem solved. Still NOT happy with any of it. I will never return to Visionworks and will spread the negative word about this location. read more

I recently purchased new glasses at the Visionworks location at 1780 Stirling Rd in Dania Beach, FL. and was incredibly impressed with the service that I received. The store manager, Jael Barroso and her entire team helped me through the process - a long one - with smiles and professionalism. They never once appeared anxious and allowed me and my family to try on dozens of pairs of frames until we found just the right pair. This store has the worst customer service and quality that you can imagine possible. They don't call you to tell you when your glasses are in. If there's an issue with their glasses it is an additional cost. When you think the problem has been resolved and your glasses should be ready they come up with an additional issue for additional money. I spoke with the manager and expected the situation to be resolved and now two weeks later I'm still waiting for my glasses to be sent out. Realize that my original glasses pick up was from June and we are now at the end of September and still can't get the situation corrected. read more

Like the earlier poster, we walked in and no one even acknowledged us. After having my children try on a bunch of frames we selected a couple we were interested in since they had advertised that the second pair was free. Free, in Visionworks idea means that they will charge you more than twice as much for the first pair of glasses and then throw in a second pair free. The price quoted for basic, single vision lenses in fairly basic, non-designer frames for a child was astronomical. When I confronted the sales person with the fact that they were charging twice as much for transitions lenses as Costco, she simply agreed. Needless to say, we walked out and went elsewhere. read more
