I went to this office for a contact lens fitting and completed all the required paperwork. The staff member assisting me with insurance verification was unable to verify my coverage, even though I provided all the necessary information. She told me she couldn't find me in the system and couldn't reach anyone because it was an automated line, then suggested that I call myself. At no point did she offer the option to pay out of pocket, which I would have been willing to do. Instead, she seemed more focused on discussing lunch plans with her coworkers than helping me find a solution. I decided to cancel my appointment, called my insurance directly, and got verification immediately. I ended up going to another office that verified my insurance right away and provided excellent service. read more

Not only was I given the wrong contacts after my appointment and didn't realize until I was having trouble seeing driving at night (scary) but they never called back after I spoke to a rep about correcting my order. Got my order wrong for the second time in a row and I've ordered twice. Once from the Phoenix location (in 2022 and waited 2 or 3 months for daily's while wearing one pair of daily's for multiple weeks) and now at the Tempe location where I only got half of my order. Once again stuck with a pair of daily's now that my left prescription hasn't shown up and won't until next week and all I got was "sorry" so you're telling me that I'm supposed to wear the same pair of daily's for another week and risk getting an infection?! Once I get my contacts I will never be doing business with this company again. Go to Walmart, its faster and they get your order right. read more

But on the positive side they did have a nice selection of glasses and the glasses were very recently priced. And they have good hours in terms of their schedule. Don't bother using their eye doctor!! Dr. Hanna Frances Real Fastidio has WORST desk girls EVER!!! These girls were hung up on the fact that our VALID United Healthcare insurance wasn't working in their system.. Who cares??? We were going to pay CASH NEVER 1 time asking if we had another means of payment. Dr. Hanna LOST our business because HER desk girls had NO customer service - NONE! There was a super rude blond girl in front that was super condescending and talked to people like they were stupid.. not just me but as I was waiting to order my glasses she was on the phone being super rude to another customer. Best experience I have had getting an prescription for glasses. They were extremely fast and polite, very limited up selling. The exam was complete and the optometrist was extremely nice. Was handed my prescription right away, unlike other large chains that make you wait to try and pressure you to purchase glasses with them. Next year when I need another exam I will be back, they are also reasonably priced for people that don't have insurance. read more

Honestly not happy, will start off with the only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the staff is extremely nice. If not I would give 1 star. So I had to get a new prescription for my glasses so I decided to go here. They sent them out & I waited 2 weeks to get them back (which is normal) but the prescription was wayyyy off. So I let them send them out again to get fixed and they still came back a little too strong. Can't keep waiting for my glasses I need them to drive and work. Now another thing is they didn't have any good selection on glasses to buy there (no designer frames only nike and cheap stuff) so I gave them my Prada glasses to get sent in. They made me sign a paper saying that if my glasses come back scratched up or broken then they are not liable. Well guess what. They came back completely scratched up allllll over the side of my glasses. I take such good care of my stuff and to get them back like that is really not cool. WTF?! I'm prompt for my appointment with you guys. All I'd do is sit on a chair and fill out stupid forms anyway. She also LOCKED the door and shut the blinds so I couldn't peer into the store. Funny because the UPS / fedex guy tried to get in after me. 1/5 When it was 10, exactly, I walked straight to the back reception. She was super friendly and helpful. 5/5 While filling out paperwork, in the back room, I could hear the ladies smack talk. Don't talk negative smack...it's like high school. They were talking smack about an old lady that couldn't figure her way around tempe market place. They rudely dismissed her and just told her that it was "that way". After shutting the old lady down, they said that she "can hardly see" and that she "was a hazard." Who says that? 1/5 The doctor was great 5/5. When ordering contacts, the ladies talked like they knew the world or something. They were talking between each other while 'helping' me out. 2/5 I asked them to fix my current glass that I wore because it fell out of alignment. Unfortunately, I've had 3 unpleasant experiences at this office. I typically give a place a couple chances to change my mind because sometimes the 1st experience isn't always the best, but the others might be amazing. It was not the case with this office. 1st experience: The optometrist didn't seem like she wanted to be there, which made me feel uncomfortable. If she wasn't happy, it didn't seem like my results were going to be accurate. It felt like she really wanted me to leave and I'm not sure why. She doesn't even know me as a person and I found it so unwelcoming. 2nd experience: I called to order more contacts because my 6 month supply were almost gone. The associate answered and seemed very flustered. I expressed I needed a new 6 month supply of contacts and as they were asking for my personal info, it seemed like they were in a huge rush to get me off the phone. They ended the conversation by saying "ok, I'll have one of the girls call you back with a quote and get your card information." Then they hung up without saying goodbye or anything. Very unprofessional. I waited 3-4 days and never got a phone call. I figured maybe because of COVID they might be busy. But it's been weeks and I never got a call back. 3rd experience: Today, I called again because nobody called me back. An associate answered and as I was greeting them, they put me on hold. I find it very rude and unprofessional to put someone on hold without asking. Personally, I would just never put anybody on hold without asking even if it's my family or friends. Overall, I didn't have a good experience at this office and I would not recommend. read more

The ladies that work here are awesome. They know the insurance benefits, for all different types of plans. They also provide all the upgrade options without the hard sell. I normally don't try to right many reviews for national businesses but I have to for this store. The customer service here was amazing. I ordered my glasses last Saturday and was told my new glasses would be ready in about two weeks. I told them in two weeks I would be gone for my trip to Hawaii and that I really wanted the new glasses for my trip. The guy that helped me (I forgot his name) said he will make a note of that and see if we could get them in sooner. A week later I get a text saying my glasses were ready. My mom visited this Visionworks about 2 weeks ago since the Visionworks staff in Talking Stick were being complicated, rude and unhelpful with her scratched lenses. Yet she came here and the problem was fixed easily! She wanted to mention that the customer service was absolutely amazing. Staff was very polite and helpful. An employee specifically who goes by the name of Tom here helped my mom fix her scratched lenses and receive new ones. Tom was really easy to talk to, respectful and kind. Definitely recommend him! Everyone was extremely friendly but the place was extremely busy I feel I got a horrible eye exam done and after spending money on the exam $115 and two pair of glasses more money. they make everything twice as blurry as before and make me dizzy and want to fall down. a complete waste of time and money. Although my experience with the eye doctor went well, I did spent 2 1/2 hours in office waiting for the eye exam and getting glasses ordered. I wasn't in a rush so that isn't a huge issue for me. My disappointment lies with being told my glasses would be ready for pick up in two weeks which was not true. It's been over 4 weeks with zero contact in regards to my orders status. After calling in I was told to continue to wait with no response as to why things have been held up longer than I was told initially. Not a good way to operate business. read more

I am a 3 year Visionworks customer. After Visionworks recommended I purchase a year supply of contacts 3 months ago, they sent me a reminder to get an eye exam, which I did. At the appointment, I highlighted that I was there just for a checkup, and that I have all the lenses I need for 9 months (I can see well with my current supply of lenses). The eye doctor completely ignored this, and kept pressuring me to buy these new "plasma coated" lenses that didn't feel any different than my current pair. After I told him thanks, but I still have nearly $200 worth of lenses I haven't used yet, he walked me to the front and told the receptionist that for my order I'm trying to decide between two lens types. Completely disrespectful. I was there as a patient, and I felt like a customer at a used car dealer instead. I am switching to a different eye care provider for my next checkup. read more

PT 2 The high end frames that they JUST SOLD ME 14 DAYS PRIOR were probably not going to be available. And that I would most likely have to find a different replacement unless she found them at another location in the valley. I left the store completely broken. I've never been the gambling type, but this is probably what it feels like to lose all your money at the casino. On the car ride home, I tried on my high end frames again, hoping it was just me. But nope. Super tight around my ears, annoying and painful. I asked my friend who drove me to the store to go back so I could try to get them adjusted again. Putting them back into the case, I noticed another melt mark on the frames almost like a scratch. We pulled up to the store at 6:30 and I went to the door, the lights were low, and the two men associates who worked there were talking. It was almost like when you walk in on someone talking about you, and they notice you are there. I tried to pull the handle on the doors, and looked back at the hours of operation. It said closing time was at 7, so I was so confused. They completely ignored me, got up from their chairs, and started shuffling papers on the desks. I probably stood there like an idiot for about three minutes or so, after giving up. When I finally got home, I just cried finally. Could not believe I watched that man ruin my frames. It was like watching a car accident happen. I cried in the shower, I cried in bed. I cried from frustration. At the end of the day, I could care less what someones political views are. All I ask is that someone respects my things. I still feel dumb for crying over this situation. It's just that I've had poor vision since I was a kid, and never have I had someone mess up like this. I feel dumb for spending money at a time I need to save my money for rent and food. I feel dumb for trying to get myself something nice. I cried in the shower last night, and just woke up so bummed. Bummed I have to go back to the store, when infection rates are rising, and want to self isolate so I can see my father for Christmas. Bummed I probably have to wait another two weeks or longer for maybe to get my frames back and RIGHT. And absolutely heartbroken about my beautiful high end frames that got ruined from someone who didn't listen. And that they might not be available anymore. They were so beautiful and really looked great on my face. So unique, and different. IM SO WORRIED IM GOING TO GET BAD NEWS TOMRROW from the General Manager. I'm praying for a miracle that she finds the replacement frames. I normally get great service from Visionworks, but this was a nightmare for me. I'm hoping the store makes it right, or refunds me for the time and money that I spent. I'm still wearing my old frames for the moment, since I don't want to get used to a frame that I don't even get to keep. So thus, they are very scratched, and still giving me headaches. I'm warning anyone who reads this, to just follow your instinct's. If something doesn't feel right, you should always speak up. This was my very first time at an eyeglass store and was very pleased. I was greeted promptly and directed towards the check in. After filling out some basic information I waited maybe 5 minutes and was taken to a pre-test room and then the optometrists room. I took the optional glaucoma exam ($35 extra). It all went well and was guided to the main room were I picked out a pair of glasses. It's a nice selection but still took me around 15 minutes to find what I wanted. Great one on one customer service. They have upgrades available and yes, it's an up charge, they all up charge. Overall good experience and would recommend that you give them a look. Thanks Visionworks I'll be back! UPDATED REVIEW: I had to call them 2 weeks later(to be fair, on the promised date) and they lab broke my frame which would put me back 10-14 days.
