Tl;dr: If you can afford it, this is absolutely the place for your loved one…read more We had to place our mother in a memory care facility rather suddenly after an unexpected deterioration (after a longer slow deterioration of several years while she still lived independently), and we feel so lucky that Silverado Alexandria was able to find a space for her quickly. During a traumatic time, the Silverado team (especially Lindsay, but everyone we interacted with) was a rock for us, giving us guidance, comfort, and resources. They have every level of coordination available, and we leaned heavily on them for help in getting our mother in and settled. Dementia requires such a different outlook than most health care, and it was a relief to work with a team that 'gets it.' The facility is clean and more like a nice hotel than a nursing home. They have a lovely little outdoor patio, and are planning to renovate to create more protected outdoor space for residents next year. Rooms and bathrooms are nice, no complaints there. You can bring in your own furniture or use theirs. My mom, after going in peacefully (we told her she needed to be monitored for a medical issue for a few days) had a rough first week. She was very agitated the first day, and constantly called us for days. Through it all, the staff was so kind and respectful to her, and gave us advice on how to respond. The whole thing was of course very painful for us, but the frequent updates and communication and advice we received from Lindsay, Dana and the team went a long way towards helping us cope. My mom did start to settle after a couple weeks, and after a month was eating meals with others, participating in activities, and sleeping well. Now that she has been there for two months, I can honestly say my mother is looking younger than she has in years. She was miserable at home, lonely and confused and bored. Now, she seems so much less stressed, even standing up straighter, and there are even fewer wrinkles on her face. Though when we visit she still wants to go back to her old life (me too, mom), she is now safe, healthy, and has so much more stimulation and engagement than she did isolated at home. She got physical therapy to strengthen her against falls, she socializes with residents and staff, and they even go on outings to local parks or historical sites! The staff take her (and others) on walks in the wooded cemetery next door whenever weather allows. The way the staff interacts with residents is inspiring. Every staff member is trained to handle dementia, and they are all kind and friendly and respectful. I've learned a lot from them about how to react and what to say when visiting my mom. These people really care. I'm trying to include as much info as I can think of, since when I was searching for facilities it really helped to read accounts from others who had gone through this. The place is spotless whenever I've been there. They're in frequent communication (we can text or email Lindsay anytime) and solve any issues promptly. The staff seem well-paid and glad to be there. They have a concierge doctor you can use before/during/after transition, if needed, but can move your loved one to the facility medical staff whenever you're ready. My mom says the food is good and they have great cookies. (One of the activities they do each week is baking/cooking!) Thanks to Silverado, I'm confident that my mom is receiving the best care and quality of life she could possibly have, and I know they'll continue to be there supporting her (and us) every step of the rest of the way. It's expensive and self-pay, but if your loved one can afford it, it's the best place in the area by far.

Look no further ... we've been there, done that -- this place is the real deal!…read more For almost three years we cared for both parents with Dementia in our home - we had caregivers from big agencies, small agencies, independents and even our own dependents to help us. One year after my Mom passed away, we made the painful choice of moving my step-Dad into an assisted living/memory care community - and after visiting many different places ...well, we made the wrong choice! Go figure. We should've chosen Silverado... the great news is that he's there now! In December, 2019 we moved Tom from "Wrong Choice" Assisted Living Community to "Best Thing That Ever Happened" Silverado Memory Care after watching his physical and mental health spiral downward. When Tom arrived at Silverado he was catatonic, unresponsive, wheelchair bound and fed by hand; we weren't sure he would make it to the New Year. Who knew we were about to witness a Christmas miracle ... within ONE month - actually ONE week - Tom was back to his 'old self' -- walking, eating, laughing, thinking, solving, choosing, dancing, singing, engaging -- and oh ..even flirting {sigh} :) - Amazing how authentic care, true compassion and providing dignity and purpose can literally breathe life back into a soul. Grateful for all the angels at Silverado Alexandria Memory Care Community!

Instead, we were put in direct contact with the owner Josie that night. She could not have been more supportive and compassionate with us when we explained what we needed. She immediately sprang into action and came up with a care plan for us that enabled us to keep our family member at home. The quality of care that was provided was top notch and I cannot recommend it enough. I gave them 5 stars, as the top rating on this site but I would gladly give them 10. If you want to get top notch quality care for your loved one, please contact Josie and be assured that you are getting them the best care available.

I can't express enough the overall care and compassion Josie had for my mother and I when we met. She was so incredibly helpful in getting everything set up for mom's home care. Her amazing staff of nurses are absolute angels in my opinion. They were so kind and gentle in caring for my mother, Especially Sally. Josie was so easy to reach and when I had a last minute change in nursing needs for mom, She and her staff made it happen seamlessly and immediately. If you ever find yourself in need for in home care, and if I ever require it again, Josie will definitely be my absolute first call. I believe there are some people in this world that are the best at what they do and Josie and her staff are exactly that!

This Arlington-based franchise operation (zip code 22202) is a FRAUD. Do not believe any of the…read morereviews on this website or any site associated with this agency. If you love your loved ones and truly care about them, STAY AWAY AND BEWARE of its modus operandi. First of all, one of their modus operandi to RAISE THE HOURLY RATE, they tell you their caregivers (CG) are on double time (even if they are not) and that "the owner wishes to meet you half-way by charging you $50 per hour." If you wish one of their CGs to come back or if you say good things about a CG, the rate goes up! They said, I am horrendously "picky" when it comes to CGs. In truth, they should be embarrassed. For $36-$76 per hour, I expect a top notch service - all their CGs barely do nothing!!!! Synergy Arlington NEVER SCREEN their caregivers (CG). The CGs they sent were SMELLY (with the exception of one who came in the evening between 4PM-8PM, they all smell like SKUNKS), super late, unprofessional, unreliable, highly opinionated, and the majority had no clue on what they are doing. Synergy's schedulers, Filipina office manager, and owner are just as BAD. The Ghanaian office scheduler is very dismissive, highly insensitive, and lacks candor. For example, she wants you to work with her schedule instead of the other way around. In her inability to find a CG on the time slot I selected, she insisted that I accept her proposed schedule. Turns out, she was LYING. It was just a ploy, and I caught her red handed!!! She ended up going back to my original schedule because from my conversations with the CGs, my schedule was easy to fill as they prefer to either work their normal job or whatever they chose to do. Of course, this Ghanaian officer person never apologized. In a separate situation of her inability to carry out the spirit of the contract of the care service, she insisted on me accepting a male CG even if I preferred a female CG. Talk about unprofessionalism and allegedly being #1 in the care industry, this Ghanaian office queen is very needy and cannot get her acts together. There was not a day that she did not call or sent me text messages more than once. OMG. Such a work of Art with a capital "A." Yes, NONE of the officer personnel, including the owner use a professional email address. All of them use "gmail." None of the CG uses a uniform so you can easily identify them!!! When I raised my concerns to the office manager, nothing happened. When I reached out to the owner, instead of finding a solution, he offered to supposedly let me go as if I was unprepared to cut ties. That confirmed my suspicion that all the office personnel were working at the behest of the owner. Yes, I had been researching for weeks, however, at that time, I was being careful and reading the service agreement for legal actions. When I first read about Synergy, I thought they could be trusted, or they were that good because all the reviews were way up there. They are nowhere close to these reviews. In fact, all these reviews are FALSE!!!!! Perhaps, it is right to say, they wish they are this good. On the scale from one to 10? I rate them NEGATIVE 10 or 100. So, when the owner offered to clear me out of the contract, I never hesitated!!!! The following day, I had a different agency start right away, that quick and I have never been soooooooooooooooo happy. I wish I had found this agency instead of Synergy. Because of this bad experience, I do not think I will overcome my PTSD with this franchise. The fact that Synergy allows this operator to continue to exist, they also failed. They do not conduct due diligence. It is clear to say they are all about the money, not about care as they seem to advertise. I will NEVER reach out to Synergy even if it is the last franchise operation in the face of this earth. DO NOT BE A VICTIM. NEVER BELIEVE ALL THE SPARKLING REVIEWS. SYNERY IS TERRIBLY BAD-BAD-BAD.

Synergy assigned Nicole to me and she was so easy to have in the house. Her kind manner put me at ease. She initially reminded me of my meds. She did my laundry upstairs, picked up kitchen and continually made sure I kept hydrated. She also made simple meals. Her picking up the area I was in was a gift since I was frustrated I could not. After 21/2 weeks I was able to walk more and did not the extra help. I felt confident with Nicole and would recommend Synergy and Nicole without a doubt.
