I never give reviews but I have never dealt with anything similar. I have no complaints about the Doctor. However, the staff is the most incompetent staff I have ever seen. I have been dealing with them for 6 months and every interaction has been a nightmare. Just yesterday I called to have my contacts prescription finalized, the woman put me on hold and for no reason left me on a "brief" hold of 10 minutes. Then I hung up and called again, she picked up and left me on hold again. Then I hung up and called for a third time and when she picked up and asked to put me on hold i confronted her and said this was absurd, that this is not how you treat people and patients and she said please call in 20 minutes. I did, she asked me to be put on hold again and I flipped. Had I not flipped, I would still be on hold maybe until today. I demanded that she listened to me, and helped me with what I needed, which was to finalize the prescription for my contacts. She said Id have to go in (I have been there 3x since March already) I said i would never go back there that I wanted my prescription finalized and sent over email. She said she should send it. Guess if she did it or not? Of course not. This am I called again, and again, I was not helped. I prefer doing it all over again anywhere else rather than dealing with these people again. I have never felt so strongly inclined to give a bad review like now. This office should disappear, it seems that these people want to make your life harder rather than help you. This place is run so poorly, do NOT get treated here. While all the people I talked to were perfectly polite, they repeatedly screwed up somehow. First, I went in for an eye exam, and to get new contact lenses. I was told the contacts would take a week and they would contact me. A week later, they contacted me, and I went in to pick up my contacts. They were the wrong kind. I explained this, and the woman at the desk said she would reorder the correct ones. A week and a half later, I called to check on whether my correct contacts had arrived. They had, but they were the wrong ones, AGAIN. I asked if I could speak to whoever was the office manager. The receptionist gave me a different phone number, so I called that, and the person said the manager was busy and took my information. They never called me back, so I called again the next day and said I'd really like someone to order the correct lenses. Finally they did, but they, unbelievably, ordered the wrong lenses again. Finally, finally I got the right ones, but I am never, ever going back to this place again. read more

The African American female receptionist was extremely nasty and rude. We called In early to make an appointment and we were told to come in after 2pm. We arrived at 1:55 and the receptionist rudely remarked "well, you're early and the doctor isn't back until 2." Then she proceeds to lie and tell us that we were told to come in at 2:40 when that is not at all true in the least bit. Then, she rudely proceeds to speak to my girlfriend and I like we are little babies with no intellectual capacity, to teach us in an extremely rude manner how to sign the log-in sheet as if we are stupid and never been to a doctor's office before. (Not to mention the constant rolling of her eyes and her constant mouth clicking/lip smacking). Then she proceeds to play around on the front computer and wait until 2:10 to give my girlfriend her new patient forms when she could have given it to us at 1:55. One of the worst receptionists I've had the displeasure of being around in my life. Also, as if the above isn't bad enough, the younger female African American receptionist had earphones in listening to music the entire time ignoring all her surroundings in plain sight of all patients, sitting in the corner doing nothing. Well nothing work related that is. However, Dr. Cypress the Optometrist in the office, was very nice and courteous and treated my girlfriend with the utmost respect. She also seemed knowledgeable in her field. I would have given this doctor's office a higher rating were it not for the 2 receptionists. read more

Very disappointing experience overall. My main concerns are listed below and can be classified by the following: 1. Communication Although staff was mostly pleasant, they failed to communicate important information. The technician failed to provide descriptions for the pre-screening tests completed and merely gave instructions as to head and chin positions. She was completely detached from the patient. 2. Hidden fees I presented for an eye exam with an optometrist and expected that it would be covered by my insurance along with a small co-pay. However an additional screening test, with an additional cost was performed, to which I was only made aware of at the end of the eye exam at billing. 3. Optometrist the optometrist was well mannered but rushed through the eye exam. She failed to complete a comprehensive patient history and jumped straight into the refraction. She immediately swung the phoropter in front of me before I could even get settled into the testing chair. She also didn't check my unaided or presenting vision. My current glasses were not neutralized and hence she could not tell me whether my Rx had changed or not. While speaking to the optometrist she was busy completing her notes on the computer with her back facing me the majority of the time. In the end, she said I had dry eyes, yet recommended nothing for it. I presented for headaches and did not satisfactory solutions presented. Once again, I felt that the optometrist rushed the eye exam and definitely did not have my best interest at heart. It was as if she planned on prescribing new glasses to me whether it was needed or not. 4. Wrong Prescription (Rx) From the Rx report I received, I noticed that the optometrist found the same Rx for both eyes which is very strange since I've been wearing glasses since the age of 7 and know for a fact that one eye is weaker than the other. I also believe that I was over-corrected. PD measurements were also missing from the report. 5. Unwillingness Staff was very hesitant to verify my insurance coverage and never bothered to call the insurance company. They insisted they were right about my coverage even though I knew different, they didn't care that I was unhappy. 6. Frame selection There was limited high end frame selections and I was unable to find anything with an effective diameter greater than 53mm. The entire process and patient flow needs to be revised. There was a manageable patient flow, however, I was in the office for over 2 hours and still left unsatisfied. I believe a lot of work needs to be done regarding training for clinical as well as support staff. read more

Fraudsters. I had no symptoms but showed up for a routine exam. They found extensive problems and recommended a slew of costly treatment. I submitted my exam results to a friend who is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He said their "findings" were completely unjustified by the actual results, and that in fact I had no problems at all. He recommended I follow none of their recommendations. On top of that, they had no record of my previous visits, which had found no problems, because they said one of the optometrists had taken them when he left the practice. Yikes! read more

Dr Milne's replacement, Dr. Nnabue is NOT an ophthalmologist, but an optometrist - and the new business Visual Eyes does NOT tell you that!! I was very displeased with the college age kid that performed my initial exam - had to have prescription corrected by the optometrist (whom I thought was an ophthalmologist at the time). My exam was two years ago, and I had cataracts for years. Dr. Nnabue, did not refer me to have surgery or an evaluation. Due to displeasure with Visual Eyes, I retrieved my records - at a price - and went to an ophthalmologist. It was only then that I found out Dr. Nnabue was NOT an ophthalmologist - when she told me the records showed he was an optometrist. I was told my cataract was very thick and was asked why I waited so long, to which I replied the doctor who did the exam two years ago did not say anything about the cataract being ripe enough, even at my query about it. I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. FRAUD OPERATION is what you get. I paid almost $1000 for a pair of glasses and they did not install the lens I paid for. When I picked up the glasses & realized they were not the transition lenses I paid for, I immediately contacted the office to discuss the mistake I was told to contact them the following Monday by the manager. I contacted the manager as instructed. I was told that she was too busy and to call back at a later time. For the next 18 months I was given the run around. On numerous attempts on my part via phone, email, and in-person I was told to come back, call back, or promised followup was not kept, and getting every excuse in the book why the issue was still not resolved I just gave up and decided to file a complaint with the insurance provider. Ironically, new management contacted me shortly after to resolve the issue inherited from previous management and expressed the desire to fix the problem. It's now over 2 years later and the problem has not been resolved. Instead, the solution was to pay more money for an exam and lenses on top off the $$$ they had already scammed out of me. I've moved forward and filed a grievance with the insurance company and a complaint with the BBB. Fortunately, I kept all email correspondence, call logs, and saved voicemails to verify. This is not the kind of treatment a person should expect from any business....let alone a Medical Provider. BEWARE read more

I don't even want to give one star. Just left this place and did not get an exam. The woman who started the eye exam process had no idea what she was doing. She didn't know how to use the equipment. I asked her if she was new and she said yes. I asked if another person could help. She said no; I insisted then a Dr came and said she reset the equipment and started trying to walk her through everything. I felt very uncomfortable so I left. The male receptionist was mostly trying to sell me glasses and kept insisting that I ignore getting contacts. When I decided to leave, he started trying to reschedule me at another location or for another time back at the Silver Spring office. The owner was not there. I went there last year and it took 4 times as long to get my sample contacts. When I called multiple times, I was placed on hold and the guy who ordered the contacts said that the order was not delivered properly and that they had no way of knowing whose contacts arrived and had to wait until each person called. That was, I am sure, a lie. I went to get my contacts last year and told the owner about this and he said that what I was told didn't make sense and inquired about the person who said me that. I only returned this year because I liked the Dr and wanted some consistency with my eye care. To have a person who has NO IDEA of how to start the eye exam process without help is a breading group for eye harm and malpractice suits. Never going there again! I am going to report this further! It was beyond poor service. The lady who was I'll equipped to do her and job apologized a few times. Ridiculous. read more

I went here a couple years back (DC location but they may have moved). Great eye doctor. Staff were super friendly and helpful when I moved away much later and asked them to fax my prescription somewhere. no complaints! read more
