For this latest refrigerator repair I had to call on him for a refrigerator that wasn't getting cold. He quickly came out, identified that the fan wasn't working and ordered a new one. He installed the new fan and unfortunately the refrigerator still wasn't getting as cold as needed, he immediately came back out 2 additional times and made assessments and fixes, on the 3rd time he discovered that the new fan that he was sent was directive, so he ordered a new one and came, as soon as it was received, on a Sunday, and installed it. Now it's working perfectly and all the additional visits and repairs were included under his great warranty. I really appreciate David, he's great to work with and seems to know everything about every kind of appliances, and doesn't give up until he gets your appliance running like new. Thank you David again for another job well done!

The initial inspection fee was reasonable since it was supposed to be applied toward the repair. However, after the inspection, we were only informed that the parts were difficult to source and received no further updates. We ultimately paid another company for a second inspection, and they located the parts the same day, ordered them, and completed the repair within two weeks. Based on our experience, it seemed the process stopped after the initial inspection rather than progressing through the actual repair.

I live in san francisco, and unfortunately Gary only services the east bay, but he was willing to listen to my issue over the phone and walk me through what he thinks the problem could be (and what it likely wasn't); and with his suggestions I was able to resolve the problem on my own. Prior to speaking with Gary I contact at least a dozen other places which weren't even willing to give me pricing for what I suspect was the issue (worn out gasket -- needed to be replaced); they only said they'd charge me $250+ to simply come out and diagnose (not even fix, just diagnose) -- that's it. A few were willing to inform me that after diagnosing, if it was indeed the gasket as I suspected, it would likely run me an additional $500 to $1,000 (not including initial diagnosing cost). Thank god I was able to chat with Gary - he might be the last honest and trustworthy repair man left alive. I will definitely be recommending him to anyone who ever asks for fridge repair.

Gary the Appliance Man. He is reliable, honest, and fast!…read more Our garage freezer died on a Saturday. I knew Gary doesn't work weekends, but I texted anyway. He replied with a simple, money/food-saving tip: get dry ice and place it on the top shelf to keep things cold. That advice alone saved us a lot of food. He told me Monday was fully booked and he'd try for Tuesday. Then late Monday afternoon he called to say he was on his way. He diagnosed and fixed the issue in about 45 minutes. I wasn't home yet Gary let me pay electronically, which made everything easy. Clear communication, practical guidance, solid workmanship and a heart for serving his community! Gary has an outstanding work ethic, a real heart for people, and he's an excellent repairman. He's my first call for appliances. I highly recommend him and his team. We texted him with the request for repair because our washer was not working properly. Sergey returned our inquiry quickly and set up an appointment. He showed up on-time and diagnosed the issue of the washer and repaired the issue. From having him repaired our dryer before, we know he is honest and trust worthy and will provide the service professionally and charged us a fair and reasonable fee. Sergey once again did the repair job efficiently and charged us with a very fair and reasonable fee. We are very happy we found someone who is an honest and professional repair person for our appliances since the newer appliances are not made as durable as the older ones and we are sure we will call on Sergey again when our other appliance breaks down not if but when. Of course ,the gasket is impossible to replace without removing the door and removing the glued panel so I called APROR. Our built-in drawer Sharp microwave stopped heating after less than 1 year of use. However, because…read moreit was just barely past 1 year of the shipping arrival date, it was not covered by the 1-year comprehensive warranty. After spending more than $1500 on this crappy microwave, I vowed not to use the Sharp repair program ($300-400) or any Sharp affiliated appliance repair companies. However, I could not find any replacement built-in microwaves of the same size. Through many months of phone calls and emails, I was finally able to receive the replacement part (magnetron) covered under the 5-year magnetron warranty. Labor was not included in this parts warranty. I called a few appliance repair companies. One said they do not service microwave. Then, I was able to schedule with Urban and Denis gave me a verbal quote over the phone ($275). I usually price compare, but I felt this was a pretty reasonable price so we scheduled for a site visit just a few days later. Marat came to do the repair and within 1 hour we had a working microwave again! So the moral of my story is that I'll never buy anything from Sharp again, but I will not hesitate to call Urban again for my appliance repair needs :)
