Had a late breakfast here this morning with my sister. I've tried the Vitality Bowls in Willow Glen, but this is my first time at this location. I ordered the Power Panini, which is a chicken sandwich with pesto, mozzarella, greens, and roasted tomatoes on multigrain wheat bread. Wow was it good. I loved everything about it, including the bread. It was pretty big, too. I asked the cashier if I could get plain apple juice, which wasn't on the menu, and she offered to make a fresh squeezed drink or one from store bought apple juice. I went with store bought and it tasted great. My sister had The Incredibowl, which is organic açaí, different kinds of fruit, granola, almond butter and milk, and honey. She seemed to enjoy it at first and then pushed it away when she got about halfway through. Not sure what happened. The cafe is small and cozy with just a few tables inside and a few more outside. We were the only customers inside, which was nice. The staff was quick to make our food and friendly. I also want to mention they had the best '70s music playing softly overhead. We came here today for lunch. This location is off of Cottle next to Marshalls. The inside is pretty small with about 4 tables for inside dining. We checked out the menu and then placed our order. The manager waited on us, and he was very nice. My husband ordered the Mighty Med salad, a kombucha, and a nutty bowl. I ordered the Power Panini with chicken and multi-grain bread and a green tea. Luckily, we got there when it wasn't busy, so all tables were available. Our food was brought out to us in a bag, which I thought was weird since we were dining in. My sandwich was hot and very delicious. The chicken was very tender and not dry at all. My green tea was iced cold and refreshing. My husband enjoyed his salad but thought the beef texture was off and tasted old. He said he wouldn't order it again. But the salad part was very good and fresh. He enjoyed his kombucha. He thought the nutty açaí bowl was just okay and didn't taste any peanut butter. We think they forgot to add it. I didn't like the nutty açaí bowl. I didn't care for the flavor. I still love their smoothies and bowls but I can only justify paying $16 for an açaí bowl occasionally lol. I do go back because the quality and taste is on point every time. I also love their loyalty program. If you download the app you earn 1 point for every $1 spent. With their prices, you can rack up points pretty quickly. It's also nice that you can customize and add ingredients to your order. I like to add pea protein to my bowls/smoothies. This location is really cute. It's located in the Cottle shopping center and there's indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are super sweet and bring out your orders to you. It is located in a shopping center with lots of parking. Inside there is a small seating area to eat your meal. It was raining so there was no outdoor seating, but I'm sure with nicer weather, this would be available. The worker who was working the register was very kind. As for the food, we got the vitality bowl with extra granola. It was really good. The strawberries and banana were cut into small slices and overall satisfied my craving. Today, I received an email regarding their Dec special - apple pie bowl, and decided to try it. The cashier asked if I was part of their loyalty program and I said no. She told me it was easy to join and all the benefits of joining their program. Just download the app scan the barcode on my receipt and collect your points. She wasn't being pushy as she informed me so I paid and kept my receipt. I waited about 5-9 minutes for my bowl and I heard my name and saw a lady approaching me with a brown bag. Grabbed my bowl and was on my way. This bowl was so delicious. I was worried it would melt by the time I got back but nope the consistency was cold and creamy. The fruit was fresh the coconut shavings an added sweetness. Yummy bowl indeed. I'm leaving 2 stars because their online ordering system is absolutely terrible. Order through DoorDash/Yelp and they up charge like 3-4$ for their already expensive bowls. They don't even have all of the menu available unless you order through their actual website. Ordering through their official website is infuriating -- it forces you to make an account, verify it through email and enter all of your card/billing info manually (doesn't accept Apple Pay). Not to mention it automatically adds a 2-3$ tip (oh look they're up charging us again). I'm not tipping for placing my own order and picking up my own food. To be honest, I've never really been a smoothie or açaí bowl person as i really love savory and warm foods. That is until I got pregnant and moved to San Jose and discovered vitality bowls! But there's something so satisfying in having a smoothie that tastes refreshing and fills me up in between meals. I've been spending $10-12 on my Starbucks every day (which I still love) but spending about the same amount for a smoothie with fresh fruits, veggies, and other super foods just seems more like money well spent.
