I ordered the grilled pork broken rice, and my boyfriend got the large beef pho. Overall, the food was delicious. The grilled pork was tender and full of flavor, and the sauce was especially good. The veggies were fresh and paired really well with the fish sauce, and I loved that the dish came with a small bowl of broth--it was comforting and tasty. The only downside was the rice, which was a bit hard to chew and tasted like it might not have been very fresh. The pho, however, was amazing. Two unisex restrooms. The service was ok. They had a few takeout orders, drink orders, and a few tables all within the last 40 minutes before they closed. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet: rice noodles with rare sliced eye round steak, well done brisket, flank, tendon, tripe in a beef stock (3.5/5). Decent flavorful broth. The tendon was one of the softest piece of tendon I have ever had. Overall, 3.5 stars. I look forward to trying their broken rice dishes next time. read more

If this were in any other city, this would be perfectly acceptable Vietnamese food. But in San Jose in the Bay Area, with so much excellent Viet cuisine, this restaurant was really a let down. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing had much taste in general. The grilled pork was not fresh. It was clearly sitting around and then reheated and came out lukewarm. The lemongrass chicken had no lemongrass flavor. The Phở broth was very thin and watery, with no flavor. The shrimp spring roll came loaded with lettuce and just the tiniest piece of shrimp. 100/10 customer service! Spent the day at Oakridge (across the street) with my parents and was craving soup since it was chilly out. Went to Pho24 and we ordered 2x Dac Biet pho and 1x Bun Bo Hue. Here's why they got 5 stars - $16 for a small bowl is AMAZING price especially in San Jose, although it is "small" it was super filling! - I ordered Bun Bo Hue with no noodles instead, unfortunately the staff misunderstood me and thought i said "no noodles on the side" haha so silly but it's totally my fault for speaking too soft! They did not hesitate to offer to remake it but i refuse as i know they would've just threw the whole bowl away. Instead, after they saw i scooped the noodles into another bowl they kindly came back with a bowl of extra meat.. 10 minutes later one of the cook came to me and apologized, then gave me a togo container with broth and meat! Recently visited this restaurant with my friends and tried the bun bo hue and Thai tea. The Bun Bo Hue was very delicious. The broth was perfect with the right amount of spice. The meat was cooked perfectly as well and they also gave a generous amount of meat. I usually don't finish my meal, but I ate all the noodles, meat, and even drank a lot of the soup since it felt so warm and flavorful. I also got the Thai Tea and it was the right amount of sweet and creamy. The perfect complement to the meal. The service was great and the food came out very fast as well. I actually love this place & the cook here, he's an elderly old man, and he's so nice. The busiest times are after 6:30PM. There's maybe 1 server/cashier, and 2 kitchen staff. They're doing their best. Like others mentioned, try not to arrive an hour before closing. By that time I think they're limited in how much they can serve you as they're cleaning up for the night. I actually do want to mention that I think it's really important to respect the atmosphere of a restaurant and abide by what their customs are. Having been born and raised in San Jose, I've tried my fair share of pho around the city and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a large filet mignon pho with extra meatballs and a large here actually feels like a large. It came with a bundle of perfectly cooked noodles, tender bites of filet mignon, and an abundance of delicious soul-warming broth. The broth is packed full of umami flavor and a slight natural sweetness without drying out your mouth that comes when too much msg is added. Pho broth is the heart of the dish and you can taste the love and the hours that went into boiling down the bones with aromatics and spices. My friends tried a couple of the new items on the menu like the crispy tofu and wagyu pho. The wagyu pho was a really fun take on classic pho. It comes in a stone bowl with boiling pho broth that you can dip raw slices of wagyu and fresh pho noodles into like hot pot! Definitely one of my go to places when I'm craving pho. read more

Coworkers and I were craving pho and vermicelli so we decided to try something nearby. This place seemed to have decent reviews, it was close by, and we've been looking to try new spots. We were seated immediately on a Friday afternoon. The waitress was really good at checking on us from time to time as well as answering some dietary questions. My coworkers have been in search of their ideal pho and are sometimes disappointed when we try new places. I'm not a pho person but the vermicelli tofu bowl was immaculate. They honestly had so many vegetarian options that sounded so delicious but the vermicelli was really good. When the food arrived we all dug in and we were all silent until I asked how it was. One of my coworkers said they can typically taste when the broth hasn't been cooked properly but here it was real beef broth. They really really enjoyed their pho and really really enjoyed my tofu vermicelli. We all devoured our meals! I really appreciated the cleanliness of the staff. The waitress wore a mask as well as gloves when taking our order, serving us water, bringing our food, and cleaning other tables. It obviously wasn't the same pair of gloves as I watched her change them and wash her hands. Just nice to know people are taking good safety precautions. Long overdue review for my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! They check all the boxes, good service, cozy atmosphere, and great food! My go-to order is a classic bowl of pho tai as the broth never misses (rich and flavorful) and portions are always great. If I'm feeling extra, I also like to add beef balls to my pho tai. (I'm usually not one to get add-ons, but it's worth it here!) I'm glad that Pho 24 also has other great dishes besides pho when I'm not feeling hot soup. I've also had their banh mi and lemongrass beef vermicelli bowls. Like the pho, the portions are huge and they are generous with the perfectly seasoned meats and fresh veggies! I'm excited to order these during my next visit as soup season comes to an end. If you're looking for something smaller or want an appetizer, I always enjoy the spring rolls and egg rolls. The spring rolls are always fresh and the dipping sauce pairs so well with them, making for the perfect bite. The egg rolls come out hot, packed with tasty filling, and always have that satisfying crunch when you take a bite. As for drinks, I'm 99% a "just water" person, but I will make an exception for Pho 24's drinks. I love that their fruit teas are not overly sweet, not artificial tasting, and have a strong tea flavor. Their smoothies are also great and you can tell they use real fruit! I ended up coming back here and I decided to take my own advice and try one of the other Banh Mi in hopes of a better experience. I opted for the Grilled Pork Banh Mi this time instead of the Onion Beef, and thankfully I was rewarded with a delicious sandwich with none of the shortcomings of my previous meal. They didn't skimp on the meat, and the balance of ingredients was ideal. It ended up being one of the better Banh Mi I've had and I would definitely have it again if I ever come back. One other word of advice for those who plan on ordering the pho (like any normal person at a place with pho literally in the name), I would recommend getting the normal noodles instead of the "fresh noodles" they offer you for $1 extra. All of our food came out quickly - I ordered the wonton noodle soup with egg noodles and the broth had great flavor but I had to add a little salt to it. I explained to him that I wanted to add tripe and steak but the app didn't allow that option, so he kindly added tripe to my order and didn't even charge me. I love this place! It's close to Oakridge & right off Santa Teresa Blvd. their banh mi sandwiches are SO GOOD. I literally crave them so often + if you ask for no mayonnaise it feels incredibly healthy- a mixture of grilled meats, carrots, cucumbers, & cilantro all together in an amazing French baguette still warm. I'm just here to review the bánh mì. Best I've ever had anywhere. I usually don't care much about bread, but theirs is so light and fresh and flaky with a little bit of oil that I noticed how really good it was. Not chewy or scraping the top of your mouth like the baguettes in some other places. I got the grilled pork and it was like thin-sliced crispy pork belly. Also a little sweet. I'm calling it Vietnamese bacon. Super tasty. I also liked the way the veggies were so thinly sliced. I'm not a fan of big chunks of cucumber. They put all the jalapeño on the side, maybe because I'm a white guy, but I used all of it. The servers were friendly and fast. I will order their bánh mì for take-out for hiking. Pho was fire here today! I've been to their west San Jose location which I love so when I was on the south side I decided to come here. It was the perfect dish to have for the first rain of the season! It was hot, warm and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I also got the passion fruit smoothie it's on the sweeter side and it's just perfect! I ordered the large chicken pho and my husband got the large beef pho with brisket both were delicious.
