Found this place thanks to other reviews... It does NOT DISAPPOINT! I had the salmon piccata, mom had the seafood fettuccine and my dad had the seafood Diablo ... All were FANTASTIC! The fresh made bread was right out of the oven... And delicious! We capped the meal off with the tiramisu... We have had this desert throughout Italy and this one rivals any offering we have had... Greenwood's finest Italian restaurant. I'll drive 35 minutes every night for Chicken Alfredo every night if I could!

I went here with the family for my birthday, due to an Indy Foodie coupon for $10 off. We went all out. The antipasta salad plate was really nothing special. Just ok. The garlic and cheese breads were delicious. The real winner of the night were the sauces though. I got the tortellini, which included the red sauce AND alfredo sauce and it was stellar. Others dining with me got the lasagna, chicken diablo, shrimp diablo and fettucini alfredo. I sampled all except the shrimp (same diablo dish, I just don't do seafood often) and the sauces simply blew me away in each dish. The sausages and meatballs were moist and flavorful, but again, this is a sauce place. The perfectly ideal sauce in my mind when I'm craving Italian is only at Vito's. Go forth. Preferably in sweatpants. Seriously. So good!! read more

I can't believe how lucky we are to have such an amazing Italian restaurant here in Indiana. Traveled from Fishers, Indiana to try this place out. Did NOT disappoint. Chicken Marsala is out of this world. Bread and salads were delish. Loved the homemade dressing. Lasagna was so good. YUM. We visit Vito's at least once a month and love their food! Since trying the pasta with vodka sauce, I have ordered no other dish since that time. My husband loves their chicken diablo and asks for extra diablo. In the past, I have tried both the fettucine alfredo and tortellini and they are both very good. Due to our love for Vito's food, we haven't stepped foot in an Olive Garden or Buca's for years. I love their salad which is simple but so yummy with a large amount of mozzarella cheese. They have a honey mustard poppyseed which I've never had anywhere else. We have one waitress who is our favorite and knows our drink order and usually our food order. I'll take their Italian over a chain restaurant any day! read more

A quaint and intimate restaurant. I enjoy the sinatra-esque music, the dim lighting and exposed brick. Can be very romantic. The chicken diablo is the absolute best item on their menu. I love it. Vito Provolone's is a perfectly good, but in no way exceptional, Italian restaurant. The main eating area is fairly small and lines will build up VERY quickly on popular eat-out nights. If you don't want to wait, get there early. We arrived around 5:45 on a Thursday and had a 15 minute wait. By the time we were done with our meal, that line had more than doubled in length. Both of us had tasty meals. Mine was the tortellini--not home-made, but good just the same. His was the orange roughy florentine, and he said that it was delicious. Both of our salads were crisp and fresh, and the bread was wonderful. Our waitress was competent and efficient, but definitely not friendly. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover,applies here; It's located in an older strip mall, off the main road , but the interior is charming and cozy. The staff was friendly, and professional. My friend had ravioli, I had a chicken dish...both were so good. fresh garlic bread, mmm. I would not let the waitress take my plate until I had cleaned the sauce off with the bread. 4.5 stars My Wife & I have eaten at Vito's many times over the years. It is in a small strip commercial building at Stop 11 & South Meridian. (North East corner) It's off the road & slightly behind another building, It blends in so you would drive rite past it. Kind of a Perry Township little secret..!! We love the Food & the wait staff are great. We will usually see someone their we Know or recognize, kind of nice, seems like you always talk about what you ordered & how good it was. Every restaurant has their great dishes & their good dishes..... and your favorite dish of Corse. We love Italian food, Vito's can stand tall with the rest of the finer Italian restaurants in Indy, we have eaten at most of them at least twice. Small & Quaint, Great dishes, All Delicious, .... I do love the spicier side, so I will order their spicy vodka sauce pasta on occasion, .....Mmmm. They will always put a little personal spin on your dish if there is something you like & you ask them.They also have a Nice wine selection . Ps. The can be busy on the week end evenings...we have had 30min. wait only a few times, but its worth it. :) We recommend giving Vito's a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised ! read more

We live about a block from this restaurant and have been going there for nearly 20 years! Food and staff are amazing! We don't go at "prime time" like 5 or 6 on a Friday or Saturday, so we never have had to wait for a seat, although the place is always decently full any time we go there. We take all of our out of town friends there and they all love it too! We usually get Fettuccine and Spaghetti but there pizzas are so good that we sometimes have to take one home to eat tomorrow! read more

I have never dined at Vito Provolone's, but I ordered food off their catering menu for a 25-person get-together over the weekend. I was a little nervous because I was planning this event from California and knew I would not get a chance to try the food beforehand. Not only was the food so delicious, but Lisa and her team did an excellent job packing and providing the necessary utensils to serve our food. Our food was served about 90 minutes after picking it up, and it was still warm and tasty as if we had just pulled it out of the oven. Lisa was also incredibly helpful with setting up my menu, answering my many questions, and helping me determine how much food I should get for my crowd. Not to mention, their price point was the best in town. My entire family was so impressed with the quality of the food. Vito Provolone's will now be our go-to for future events. Food highlights: stuffed mushrooms, meat lasagna, and meatballs--- all three went VERY fast! read more

My wife and I went there recently on a Saturday night before a late movie. I had the Orange Roughy Florentine and she had a bowl of their rustic minestrone. The meals were served with a small salad and a loaf of buttery bread. We shared a slice of pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Although we don't go there often, we both love the restaurant. Vito's makes a great date night restaurant; plus there is an air of South Side Indianapolis nostalgia that is hard to beat. read more

Absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and son dined this evening. We were craving Italian and were attending the Disney on ice show downtown after dinner. Upon arriving I realized I thought I had been there before. My grandparents lived in Greenwood for a long time and I remembered that Vito's was one of my Grandmas favorite places to eat and that I had been there before! Probably at least 15 years ago. I loved the minestrone soup. Enough I would actually stop by and take a to go order of it. The bread was good and my 5 year old loved the food, so it is very family friendly. First time for us to eat here. What a wonderful experience! My wife had the chicken marsala and I had the seafood fettuccine. This was the best Alfredo I have ever had! The service was excellent and the bread was wonderful. We are looking forward to going back. Neither of us could eat all our main dish, the portions were very nice. This place has one of two of my favorite marinara sauces, the other place is in Galena, IL so they don't compete with each other. Plus their free bread is out of this world. The portions are big enough to share (especially since you end up eating so much delicious bread) and it is really cheap. The places looks live a dive from the outside, but it is so worth it. I had my rehersal dinner here & it was perfect. They gave us 4 sauce choices, 4 pasta choices, option to add meatballs or sausage, everyone got a salad & bread. Just perfect for keep it reasonably priced, but giving people a nice meal. Go here & give it a chance if you like the sweeter marinara. You won't be dissappointed. read more

We always enjoy eating at Vito. The creamy homemade Italian dressing is delicious. The cream of mushroom soup is awesome but they don't have it all of the time. You can order a mushroom fettuccine that is not on the menu. It has several types of mushrooms in a butter sauce. So good. Pizza is great too. read more

If you're in the mood for Fettuccine Alfredo this very well may be the best Alfredo sauce you will ever try. It's a plate of succulence & buttery creamy heavenly goodness. The awesome Italian house dressing is outta site. Another fav at top of my list is the luscious clam chowder, packed with flavor & there's a plus as there's no shells . If you're in a spicy mood, definitely try the Diablo dishes, superbly packed with a punch - a flavor bomb with Chicken or Shrimp Diablo is like having a spicey party in your mouth. Finally, before paying I highly recommend ordering to go their Barbeque Chicken Pizza, which Vito's introduced to me.. Promise you won't regret it - most likely u just found your new fav specialty pizza. I can't rave enough about Vito's. By no fault of the staff, the fire alarm went off, and continued for several minutes. No mention by staff that all was well, or an apology for the noise or an offer of a dessert on the house or a reduction of the bill. Just not a quality experience. read more
