This is the best pizza I've had in a long time!! The Grimaldi pie is so flavorful. Chewy crust. Perfect!

OK, the pizza was OK. Nothing special- light on the toppings; including the cheese! The guy making the pie didn't bother to wear gloves and that was pretty disgusting. Why don't the owners/ management INSIST on cooks being gloved? Every restaurant in the world cautions employees to wash their hands before returning to work, via signage in the lavatories. Just the THOUGHT of where those hands may have been, and what they may have touched, is enough to make me want to vomit. I'll tell you, 'One bite is enough. Everybody knows the rules' Portnoy would throw his hands up in the air and ambulate out the door. If you want to compete, glove those hands and give the customer enough toppings to give them the opportunity to give your place a shot. This was our first time trying Vito's and it did not disappoint! From the friendly service of the person taking our phone order to the delicious, generously topped specialty pizzas it was a winner. I consider myself a pizza snob, but their crust and toppings are great. Also, their cannolis are the real deal; light, crisp outside with a rich creamy filling. Wanted to update my review after going back. This time I did not create a pizza, instead went with a couple of their specialties: *Chicken Florentine with garlic crust - AMAZING. *Combo Pizza- very good red pizza. *Cannoli - one of the best we've had. Only cons: *Pricing seems to be more than other spots, but the flavor is worth it. *Would like a softer edge crust, it does get a little tough/chewy as leftovers, but having garlic butter helps. With that said, it is definitely turning into one of our favorite local spots. Service is fantastic. read more

Funny story, It's Tuesday evening, my wife texts and says she getting pizza. Cue the saliva. So she arrives and I'm ready to devour, but she's empty handed. Me: "Where's the pizza??" Wife: "Funny story, I ordered, they took my money and we'll get the pizza on Thursday." Me: (dies inside) So it's now Thursday and I'm sitting in front of Vitos pizza shop in fort mill, mouth watering. I've been wanting to try vitos forever. Finally, I have the chance. It's a small place and I was greeted with a warm smile. Interesting business model. Open 3 days a week here and only orders only. I'm old school, so I need to be understanding and applaud the small business for staying open during these trying times. Regarding the pizza, it was nice. Great crunch to it and I was happy to finally try. My only knock would have been more basil. It was good and I would recommend. #newyorkerapproved read more

Amazing pizza. Placed a order online for pickup, the website was easy and quick to use. Employees were kind and helpful when we arrived at the store. I recommend the 10 inch pizza, it's all you need and you can't beat $8 dollars. The pizza was great, crispy all the way through the crust, no flop at all. Dorothy was absolutely right when she said there's no place like home. But, as a NY native, Vito's took me really close. As far as NY-style pizza goes, Hawthorne's is my usual Charlotte go-to. Vito's crisp crust & the few drops of oil that dripped out when I folded my plate to hold my slice--may sound awful to some, but it's part of what makes NY pizza so great--made this a good addition to my lineup. It was a pleasant surprise finding Vito's Pizza Truck set up on 5th Street behind Gateway Village in Charlotte, NC. I had the $8 special that included two slices of pepperoni pizza and a cold canned soda. The pizza slices were a nice size and were larger than the paper plates that they were served on. The pepperoni was plentiful and a nice size. The pizza was partially covered with with grease I assume cooked out of the pepperoni. While this may sound like a bad thing, the pizza was extremely tasty for just one topping besides of cheese. Come early because the line seemed to keep growing. Just had a cheese slice and the salad and it was great! The pizza crust was flavorful and had great texture. It wasn't as thick as many are (like having a loaf of bread under your toppings), but neither was it cracker thin. Like Goldilocks said, "It was just right". The red sauce was flavorful and the cheese was well distributed. Portion size was great, too. The slice was not as big as my head like some slices, but certainly not small by any means. The salad was absolutely packed to the gills with romaine, banana peppers, green bell pepper, olives, cheese, 'shrooms, and chunks of ham. You can choose ham, bacon, or pepperoni with your salad so how can you go wrong? Service was quick and friendly. In fact, the server ran out of the truck to catch two of us with dressing for our salads. Vito's will definitely be a repeated visit. read more

Amazing food-- the dough is spot on. Every time I've been here has been consistent, which means they've got their recipes down pat. The service window girls were super nice, and the dude in the back was working his hind end off! Incredible local pizza, and you can tell the recipe has been handed down over the generations. WOW! The other reviewers are right. This place is terrific! I had the calzone and I was surprised to see such a beautiful calzone come out of the food truck. They actually have a real pizza oven in the truck. Who knew. I think this place is actually better than other pizza places I have tried. While no come close to a real N.Y. slice I have to say Vitos food truck takes the cake, spot on the first bite took me back for a second. Food is always great and it is by far the favorite food truck to visit my work. Ordering is easy via text and reasonable prices for lunch.

Just left food truck at Gateway. First, the pizza is good, but.... 1). Waited 35 minutes for two slices of pizza!!! Other people were there before me and after!!! One person demanded her money back after waiting one full hour!!! 2) Both slices of pizza looked like they were cut from a small or medium pizza. Both slices fit on a 10" paper plate and no part of either slice was hanging off the edge!!! This food truck was absolutely under prepared to meet demand today. Even if demand was half of what it was, I still don't think it would have been quick. I suggest go to Wingzza truck. Slices are much larger for the same price and just as good. Not going to Vito's again!!! read more

I ordered a spinach mini pizza from Vito's food truck on 11/30/2018. Once I received my order, I noticed no spinach on the pizza and the cashier proceeds to tell me oh it is under the cheese. Once I arrived to my location, I'm still looking for spinach, one leaf of spinach so I went back to the food truck to tell them that there isn't any spinach on the pizza and still she tells me oh it is under the pizza. No it is not, I know what a spinach looks like. They offer to make another pizza with what I thought was spinach, so I get the pizza it is lettuce. So I guess they thought I was clearly stupid enough not to know the difference between spinach and lettuce, really lettuce on a freaking pizza. I WILL NOT and I repeat I WILL NOT support this food truck ever again. If I am paying for something then I expect what I paid for, as you would want the same. End of story, a freaking cheese pizza is what I got and not spinach. If you are out of certain toppings for a pizza, just tell your customer and stop trying to half do the job. read more

Claims to be NY style pizza. No way near as big as an NY slice. Compared to a Tonys Pizza in Charlotte, the slice is half the size, but about $1 more. For 2 pepperoni slices I paid $7. The taste was good, but definitely not enough for the price. Will more than likely not eat from here again because of the price. read more
