    Pizza

Well, this was an absolute mess. I have family in town for my wedding this week, so I was especially disappointed with what I received today. I ordered two large 20-inch pizzas, but they were shoved into boxes that were clearly too small. By the time I drove just 10 minutes to my family's house, the pizzas had turned into a greasy pile of cheese and toppings that looked like slop. I've attached photos to show how the "pizza" looked upon opening. You can see the sides all folded in because of the small box. To make matters worse, I specifically requested the pizzas be double cut, but they weren't cut at all. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience. Between the poor packaging, the condition of the pizzas, and the order not being prepared as requested, I expected much better experience and I won't be returning.

I felt like a good slice of pizza. I wanted to give Luigi's another try since I've been dissapointed the last few times. I was pleasantly surprised. Service nice ambiance nice

Listen! If you're ever in the mood for that TMNT NYC cheese dripping pizza, this is your spot! The flavors or the sauce really make the pizza taste yummy. The thin crispy crust?! How does it all come together and hold so well?! This is our favorite pizza to pick up and take home to enjoy in front of the tv! We also love that it is quality and affordable!

Yoooo son , sorry in advance with my New York jargon but this is the best pizza I've had in a long time since leaving NY . NY quality and a big slice worth the money for sure. Great crust and they don't skimp on the toppings too !!! Will be back since I'm new to the area and what a gem that I found, keep up the good work Luigi's !!!

Nice comfortable space with order I g at the counter and table seating. Moderate noise level and good pizza and generous portions. Tip If you suspect it being busy call ahead to get your pizza in the queue.

The closest to NY pizza we had so far. Wonderful crunchy thin crust, flavorful cheese and sauce. We also ordered the meat balls in sauce and a Greek salad. All very good. Menu features, Sicilian pizza, personal pizza, subs, Calzones , strombolis and pasta dishes and a variety of salads, kids menu , beer and desserts such as cannoli and NY cheescake. Comfortable basic ambiance, friendly service. A must try if you love NY style pizza.

Great locally owned restaurant. We met the owners the day before and decided to check it out for lunch. Luigi's did not disappoint. My sons loved the garlic knots and the pizza was delicious.

The best NY style pizza in the Charlotte area I have had, consistently. My family & I are frequent flyers here. Perfect cheese blend, seasoning, sweet sauce with a little zing, greasy but not too much. Slightly crisp crust without being burnt. Best when you get a pie fresh in-restaurant, but I'll ask for a pie lightly done when getting take out to allow for perfect reheating in the oven. Service & ambiance are good. It's a very standard pizza place. We usually order to go but it's comfortable & large enough to sit! The wings are okay. This is a pizza place. Get the pizza. Or at least the ziti. 16 in "everything" with jalapeños on half. It may be called supreme-not sure.

Tasty thin crust pizza. We always order a large supreme and ask to make the crust crispy. It's one of our go to spots.

Probably the closest to the great pizza we were use to having in NJ. Slices were huge and the crust was perfect.

The service from our waitress was over the top good, which I got her name! The food.......it was like an angel singing Started with the house made fresh mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil and olive oil, the flavors were fresh and colorful. I had the lasagna with a meatball and extra sauce, which ia literally the best I have had since moving from Syracuse NY. Most sauces in the south are to sweet and tastes like Chef Boy RD......but not here full of flavor with a nice bite to it, would make any Italian Nonna cry! We had little ones with us that just wanted Alfredo which wasn't on the menu, no problem waitress to the rescue again, she has the kitchen whip up a fresh Alfredo sauce, and seriously the first time I have seen the kids finish a whole meal!!! Manager came by and introduced himself , and gave a friendly handshake wich made the overall experience even better! 10 out of 10 and can't wait to go again!!!!

The goat cheese was amazing. I shared my penne ala vodka with my partners chicken parmesan. This is one of the best chicken parmesans I have had. We requested fresh pasta for both. Order their homemade pasta and be prepared to share. Portions were above average. For dessert you must try the cheesecake. Smooth and well balanced. One improvement could be the chocolate cake. This was dry and kacked the chocolate flavor the menu teased. The service was great. Ill be back in September.

Starbucks comes to mind but only because the app makes buying Starbucks easier than making my own coffee. Since opening in uptown, Portifino has become one of those places. I hate to admit it, but there have been weeks where I have eaten at least one meal there every day. Sometimes twice.... Charlotte isn't known for its pizza. I moved here from up north 25 years ago and growing up I. The northeast sets the bar pretty high in terms of pizza. Portifino's is great. The sauce is sweet and portioned perfectly. The cheese is nice and salty, so you actually taste it. The toppings are flavorful, and again, well proportioned. My favorite is the Caprice which comes with tomato, fresh mozzarella, olive oil and fresh basil. It's amazing. The pasta dishes are excellent. I'd recommend the linguini with clam sauce and throw in some shrimp and broccoli for good measure. The Calzones are HUGE. I get mine with Mushroom, sausage, pepperoni and black olives. The But their subs are really what stands out. The chicken Philly has to be one of the best sandwiches in town. I could go on and on here because I've had almost everything on the menu here but no one has the time or attention spans for that. The service is excellent. It's a family run business and it FEELS like a family run business. They care about what they're doing. The person at the counter taking your order has a stake in your satisfaction. Don't get me wrong, we're not talking about Ritz Carlton Gold Standard. It's a pizza joint run by REAL people. But they're good people, and they actually care. That's better in so many ways. My best recommendation is to go get lunch with a friend, coworker, or even by yourself and sit in a booth by the window, watch the city do its thing and enjoy some real food made by real people. It's a great way to spend your 30 minute lunch.

The service was spectacular, our server gave great recommendations and was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything, including keeping our water refilled. We started with the pesto roasted Brussels sprouts, which were delicious and served as a pretty large portion. For the main, we decided to split the Radiatori Nero. We had never tasted anything like it! The pasta has such a funky, fun texture that pairs perfectly with the sauce because it really holds onto it. The shrimp that came with it were amazing as well, a good size and cooked to perfection. We would hands down order this again! We also got the mushroom pizza, which came with plenty of truffle aioli and a crunchy crust with an incredible cheese pull. All the portions were generous; we actually ended up having enough to take home for another meal! Of course, we could not skip dessert. We got the tiramisu, which is a total must-order no matter how full you are! The cocktails were also great, I tried a blueberry drink, and they have an impressive wine selection as well. Came with 4 medium-sized slices, so a bit overpriced. - Tagliatelle (3.5/5): The pasta was a nice texture if you like it a bit firmer, but there was hardly any meat at all - essentially no pork. This was disappointing as it felt like I basically just paid for a small portion of egg noodles with one egg on top. It was quite bland. - Orecchiette (4/5): Friend liked it, but it was very heavy and made him feel bloated after/need to use the restroom. I also requested no cheese on my tagliatelle due to allergy and it came out with cheese... so they returned with another one that looked a bit smaller than my friend's, who got it regularly. Beware if you have allergies/make sure to look twice! Our server was nice but the manager serving food to customers looked a bit stressed. I wouldn't come back also because the menu didn't have too many options that appealed to me, but the environment was nice.
