Looking for a new pizza spot led me to Brooklyn Pizza Parlor, located at 7725 Colony Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226. Here's what I ordered: Meatza Pizza This pizza comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, and ham on a thin crust. Overall, I needed more sauce. Without it, the pizza felt more like an oversized breadstick, and the toppings didn't blend together the way they should have. Buffalo Wings I asked for them fried hard, but it seems that request was overlooked. The buffalo sauce itself had good flavor, but the wings just didn't hit the mark--the meat wasn't very appetizing. I would consider giving them a second try because the menu has a lot to choose from, but one employee (who seemed like a manager) really dimmed the experience. While I was there, the phone rang. She walked over, picked up the receiver, slammed it back down, and said, "Oops. I guess they didn't want anything," then laughed and walked away. My FAVORITE fast casual pizza and pasta joint for nearly 15 years! This place is near and dear to my heart, serving some of the best penne vodka I've ever had, with delicious fresh slices. If this is authentic Brooklyn pizza, then I'm glad my trips to the city are typically confined to Manhattan... I ordered delivery through a third-party service, got a Brooklyn Bridge. What showed up was the same basic, greasy, flavorless pizza that you can get from just about any place. I ate three slices, threw the rest away, and then woke up early the next morning with gastric issues. First time ordering from this restaurant. Egg salad sandwich was exceptionally good. Huge size and egg salad falling out of it! The macaroni salad is another story. Disappointed 2nd time in a row. This place is usually very consistent with food and service. Normally a 5-star but today not so much. I ordered a pizza half cheese/half meatball. After I had failed to check the box at the restaurant I found I had a half cheese/half mushroom -no big deal had it not been under a heat lamp for some time. I had been wanting to try Brooklyn Pizza based on the recommendations of many of my friends. Today I decided to stop in and grab a couple of slices to go. I love a pizzeria that offers slices! The Nonna slice was delicious, light, and crispy. The sauce on top was full of flavor and truly made the slice for me. The cheese slice was good, a little soggy, but not horribly so. Just because I am actually from Brooklyn does not mean that I went in with very high expectations - I know its hard to replicate what NY can do but I was really disappointed - the pizza was just not good. Not good at all. I could usually finish even bad floppy pizza but this was just not good. I usually want to support my fellow New Yorkers but this is really bad pizza. It can be done outside of NY. Lorenzo's is pretty good - when the right people are working and Las Vegas Secret Pizza is one of my all time favorites. read more

Some of the best crust you will find in Charlotte! It tastes like it's fire broiled pizza, and thus has the appropriate markings and taste on the front of the pie and on the crust. The vegetarian was wonderful and so was the Sicilian. Can't wait to go back for the Margarita pizza next time. read more

To preface my review, we used to get from Brooklyn all the time. We felt the quality had slipped a bit and we stopped ordering for a few years, but a few weeks ago decided to give them another chance for pizza. It was good, so we tried again. We ordered takeout - a couple of chicken parm heroes, a Coney Island hero, a sausage parm hero, and an order of manicotti. Disappointment is an understatement. The sausage hero looked like it has less than a whole sausage's worth of meat on it. And as you can see in the pictures, the "chicken cutlet" on the hero was two strips of PRESSED CHICKEN on each side of the sandwich. It had the same texture as McDonald's chicken nuggets. Another family member called to speak to the manager about our experience and was put on the phone with the owner, who was horrible to deal with. He first argued about the chicken being pressed, saying the texture was because it's injected with something that makes it that way, like that was somehow a better explanation, but the pictures speak for themselves. After arguing, he ended up inadvertently admitting it wasn't real chicken when he said, "No other place can take real chicken and pound it out and serve it for the price we serve it for", and that their distributor calls it "chicken cutlet", so that's what it is. The worst part was that he said, "You tell me where on the menu it says your satisfaction is guaranteed." Disgusting attitude from a man who serves disgusting food. read more

New to the Charlotte area and originally from Long Island NY. Always look for a go to pizza place wherever I'm located, since I'm super picky about pizza. This place was pretty good, we got the Buffalo Wing Pizza and the flavor was awesome. My knit-pick was the crust/ dough is a but chewy for my liking but it wasn't terrible. We also got garlic knots, that came with marinara sauce. It was delicious! The greek salad was solid and the cannolis were great! Not too sweet and creamy! I have never been to Brooklyn and I don't know the correct way to make a calzone. But I cannot imagine precooking the bread, slicing it open to add ingredients and then reheating it as the right way. That was my experience Jun 29th, 2024. I ordered a calzone with sausage, pepperoni, peppers and olives. Since they allow a max of three ingredients, Ok, leave off the peppers. I quickly (too quickly) got the calzone that was so tough the cafeteria knife they provided would not cut it. The sliced bread was a pocket of ingredients, so I use the knife to open it and forked out the middle. There were four or less slices of pepperoni, some thin slices of sausage that were evenly grey and shaped like the pepperoni, and 8 - 10 olive pieces. At $1.95 per added ingredient, that added $6 to the $10 calzone. The speed of order to delivery was quick and the service was great, so not all bad. read more

I order one order food this evening. After paying online, the email said food will be ready 30 min later. My daughter went in after 40 min and was told the order would need 5-10 min. She went back in 10 min later. She was told by a teenage boy 10 min. I went in 15 min later and asked if it was ready. A young girl walk over to the pick up food and couldn't locate my order. She said something to one of the cooks. I don't know what his response was. Needless to say, she had to get my food that was clearly just sitting in the back, and bag it herself. Taste: Great pizza. Their grandma slice was very tasty and their pep/sausage Sicilian was great. It was extremely thick and doughy (as Sicilian is) so you don't need much of it to get full! Yum! This was my first visit to Brooklyn Pizza Parlor, and it won't be my last. I was impressed at how BIG the restaurant is, how nicely decorated it is, and how it's not just your typical "big room" restaurant. There are several types of tables, with divisions throughout (including a fireplace right in the middle of the room), so you can feel like you're getting some privacy no matter where you sit. You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you when it's ready. There are many menu choices besides pizza (although you can buy it by the slice or by the pie), including sandwiches, salads, and pasta. This first time, we opted for the pizza. We split a "Meatza" Pizza and a White Pizza, which are just what you'd expect by their names. Both were delicious and came out fresh and hot. The service was very friendly and attentive. Even though we just ordered waters, many people stopped by at different times to see if we needed refills. Brooklyn Pizza Parlor is a casual dining restaurant, yet it feels nicer than a lot of casual dining restaurants. Best of all, Santa Claus was in the next booth over with a pizza, so you know it has to be good! read more

Extremely poor quality of ingredients and even worse management. On a recent take out order that we waited an hour for, we came home to find the pepperoni was a distorted gray color with plastic casing still on every slice making the bulk of our meal entirely inedible. After calling the restaurant, the manager did not even offer a simple apology but rather a $5 credit for the issue. If you are seeking disappointment, unprofessional customer service and poor quality of food, we strongly recommend Brooklyn pizza.
