The ambiance is comfortable, casual and a bit quirky in a fun way. The difference in my visit this time is that Rikki (the owner) waited on us. She was super friendly and helpful. Also, we were there the night of a huge PowerBall lottery jackpot drawing and the restaurant sold lottery tickets. We took this as an unexpected sign to purchase tickets, but didn't win. It was rather exciting anyway at the time... when we had hopes of winning, lol. My friend and I both ordered "small" pizzas that were large enough for more than one meal. My friend ordered a pepperoni pizza with banana peppers on a thin crust and I ordered thin crust with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. Check out pictures below. We both enjoyed our delicious pizzas and took home leftovers. I also ordered a pizza to take home to my mom- with pepperoni and onions on a thin crust. She commented that the thin crust helped her to enjoy the toppings more and that the pepperoni was of high quality and not as greasy as pepperoni can be. This restaurant is worth the short drive to Erie, Michigan. We really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely return and highly recommend!

Server was friendly & made some great recommendations - like the pickle bread with bacon! You will not be disappointed. Also tried the grog legs (tasted like chicken) and the fried pickles. These fried pickles were more like work ears than chips, perfect for the pickle lovers at our table. Burgers were great, as was the chicken parm sandwich. Definitely worth a stop!

3.5-ish For starters, the name of this restaurant (according…read moreto its own sign) is Taqueria Carnales, not Carnales Taqueria (as listed on Yelp). Anyway, this is a place for people who enjoy highly flavored and spicy food. Seriously, ask them to go easy on the jalapenos if you aren't up for spicy. I ordered everything as is for my first visit for takeout and enjoyed it but it was on the edge of too spicy for me, (chicken grande burrito) without actually crossing the line.Very much crossed the line with the shrimp tacos, imo. I ordered the following: Menudo Soup (made from cow's stomach); Shrimp Tacos and a Chicken Burrito Grande. The estimated prep time was 15 minutes and the food was ready on time. It's a cute, small restaurant that is very clean. While you could choose to dine in, I didn't see anyone eating there and it appears that most of their business is carryout. Upon arriving home, I found that the Menudo Soup had spilled inside the plastic bag. Not too big a deal. The other entrees were packed in styrofoam containers. The burrito was wrapped in paper and foil. My mom had the Menudo Soup and said it was good. She had one of the three shrimp tacos and said it was okay but that she wouldn't crave them. The avocado slices looked very fresh. My mom loves spicy food but she commented that the soup and tacos were very spicy. As for my chicken burrito, it was unexpectedly spicy in a mostly good way. The burrito was stuffed with everything inside - guacamole, rice, chicken, refried beans (very little), cheese and jalapeno peppers. It was a delicious combo but I would have preferred the individual ingredients to be separate. The biggest problem, however, was that the foil wrap made it difficult to cut into the burrito without also cutting into the foil. I think it's more of a "me" issue that might not bother anyone else. Overall, I would order from this restaurant again. The quality is definitely way above Taco Bell, but it's not quite fast food even though it's next to a Subway. Also, I asked if their refried beans were made with lard and I was assured they were vegetarian. If I hadn't seen so many positive reviews on Yelp, I wouldn't have known to check out this spot, but would encourage you to try it too for high quality, authentic Mexican cuisine! EDIT/UPDATE: I tried one of the shrimp tacos that my mom left in the fridge. OMG, it was super spicy to the point of giving me hiccups. Plus, the spiciness seemed to come from a creamy cheese sauce added to the shrimp tacos after they were cooked. I can understand why my mom wouldn't crave them and I would never order them myself. Based on your personal preference for spiciness, let this give you an idea of the level of spiciness that could be added to your food unless you request your dish to be less spicy. Recommend with caveat re spiciness.

When placed it said eta 6:10. It arrived at 6:52. An hour and a half. I actually called the store at 6:25 to verify the order was placed, and was told "it is out for delivery right now". (I live 5 minutes from the store). After 20 minutes it was still not here. So i called back. Instead of apologizing for the delay, i was told "well we are busy and she is delivering 3 orders. We have no way of contacting the driver. But you are next, I promise. It should be 5 minutes. 5 or 10 minutes." As you can imagine, if 30 minutes prior you are told your order is "out for delivery"....when it finally did arrive, it was cold. One of our cold pizzas was the "specialty" potato pizza. One person, who was not aware what kind of pizza it was, was asked "what did you think of the potato pizza?" "That was potato? I didn't taste potato, it just tasted like cold stale crust to be honest." It was literally a paper thin layer of potato. I don't even know how they are able to spread potato that thin...apparently extremely watered down mashed potatoes. Normally i love to eat the crust of pizza, but honestly it was so tough to chew (and cold) that because I didn't want to loose a tooth, I did not even finish the piece i had to death grip rip off to get. The Korean chicken pizza...actually tasted pretty good. I bet fresh out of the oven it might be worth trying if you have all day to wait for it to arrive. We also got a Detroit style crust pepperoni pizza. Pro: lots of cheese. Con: very minimal pepperoni. Basically 2 per slice. Very minimal sauce. Very doughy. It's like if jets pizza were made by little Caesar's. (Honestly just get Jets...or Vito's. Actually, next time I'd even get little Caesar's before going here again.) Oh and when you place your order, you're asked to include your tip. They also charge $5 to deliver. Therefore at 20% tip and $5, it was over $12 to be delivered cold pizza with abysmal customer service.
