I was in the area and decided to drop in for a cold drink. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of ice cream, desserts, juices, and drinks offered here. The spot is esthetically pleasing and staff friendly, polite, and attentive. All their selections looked amazing but I was on my way to a party and only ordered a Chai Tea Latte. It was very good, refreshing, and not too sweet which is just how I like them. I'll be back to try their other items and will recommend this spot to my family and friends that live in the area.

So many great coffee, ice cream & juice options here. The best stop to grab local favorites. I loved the seasonal marigold ice cream flavor - never tried anything like it & am definitely coming back before they sell out. Everyone was so nice and helpful, great customer service. Also, cute and cozy decor at this establishment - love it!

In case you haven't heard of nieves and paletas... Nieves are water-based Mexican ice cream made mainly made with fruits. Paletas are Mexican popsicles packed with flavors. If you haven't had one yet, you must try for sure. I fell in love with their pineapple ice cream at the first lick. Refreshing without being overwhelming, it deliciously cooled me down on a hot afternoon. It hit the perfect balance of subtle tart of pineapple and sweetness. The staff was super-friendly. I was encouraged to taste different flavors, which I skipped since I had my heart set on pineapple. When I return, I will be trying different flavors and perhaps even grab a paleta.

the workers are so sweet and helpful, they have a variety of ice cream flavors and paletas and their mango strawberry smoothie is a 10/10

I got the #1 bestseller and it did NOT disappoint. I can see why someone wouldn't like it because it is rather plain but I prefer plain sandwiches myself. I like the ingredients to speak for themselves and not be coated in extra sugar or salt. I'm also a big fan of pistachio, the amount they put on is not for the faint of heart... hehe This place is clean, the line is efficient and friendly. I recommend stopping by. This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service. Given the small size of the shop, takeout is recommended, especially during peak hours. The sandwiches at AAV are so good! Fuggedaboutit!

Even so, I probably won't go back. We showed up and the place was pretty much empty, with just a couple of tables occupied. We ordered, sat down, and waited. And waited. I couldn't help but notice that all of the tables that were there before us had been served, while bags of food kept going out the door for takeout orders. I understand that this isn't fast food, but seriously, I have an issue with waiting 35 minutes for a fried chicken sandwich, especially when the restaurant isn't busy. Adding insult to injury, when our food finally arrived, the server said, "Thank you so much for being patient!" That made me wonder if this kind of wait is normal. Instead of acknowledging that something had gone wrong, it felt like the long wait was simply being brushed off. The frustrating part is that the sandwich and fries were excellent. The chicken sandwich really may have been the best I've ever had, which makes the whole experience even more disappointing. Great food, friendly people, but a 35-minute wait for a chicken sandwich in an almost empty restaurant is enough to keep me from going back.

Order online and have some jump out of the car to pick up your order. There is no seating inside but maybe a chair or two outside. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges so you may want to get that food to go. We tried three sandwiches and they were all huge. The crispy chicken caesar wrap is phenomenal and I am not one who usually orders this particular sandwich anywhere. It comes with a creamy sauce that I might have drank directly from the little cup. The wrap is packed full of chicken and it is refreshing and excellent. It doesn't look huge but trust me, the wrap is packed full and you will be plenty satisfied. The Antonia sandwich comes with turkey, cheese, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli. It isn't all that unique a creation but for what it is, it is very fresh and very good. It came loaded with delicious turkey. The Martha sandwich (chicken salad, apples, fennel, argula, herbs, etc.) is on special right now. Personally, I am not a big chicken salad guy but you get a lot of it and the person in our party who ordered it liked it a lot. We also tried the arancini and they were excellent. You get three arancini balls and fantastic vodka sauce on the side. This is a winner. To be honest, practically the entire menu sounds great to me. The taste was overwhelmingly salty--more like salted pork than the sweet, rich flavor I was expecting from caramelized pork. The bread was hot and fresh, which are two of the most important things. Tuna Crudo - 9.1 The variation when we went contained lemon confit, thin sliced serrano peppers and basil. The lemon was outstanding and tasted like lemonade candy which paired well with the serrano and basil. Market Lettuces - 8.5 The cheese on the salad, ubriaco rosso, was delicious and it was our first time trying it. The greens were really fresh and lemon vinaigrette wasn't overpowering. Henrietta Potatoes - 8.9 I mean fried potatoes can only be so good. With that said this is about as good fried potatoes can be. They were soft, yet very crispy. The parm on top adds the perfect salt to balance it all out. The 8.9 is a reflection of how it compares to all foods or what we ate during the meal. If if was a rating of fried potatoes, it would be higher. Pork Collar - 9.4 It was great! It was almost as if you were eating a bite of steak. The temperature in which they decide for final preparation was perfect. The flavor was great and contained a hint of smoke. Ricotta Dumplings - 9.6 I would have to put this in my top 10 or 20 best dishes I have ever had. The dumplings were cooked perfectly. The star of the show is the broth. Hard to imagine the amount of mushrooms needed to get the depth of flavor and bold taste of this broth. The dish was comforting, delicious and something I could have eaten more of even after getting full. This is also something you'll want to save a little bread for. Baked Alaska - 8.2 They put their own spin on it. Instead of using ice cream, they use made in house tangerine sherbet. The bottom had a crumbled cookie base. When you have a bit that contains the toasted meringue, the crumbled cookie and just a little of the sherbet it tastes like lucky charms. Overall, awesome experience. Service/waiter gets a 10/10.
