I have just recently discovered Viva Chicken and I have to tell you that I am crazy in love with their sopa de pollo. I could eat it every single day! We are visiting this location within days of their grand opening and so far the restaurant is very clean and the wait staff exceedingly friendly. As it is with all of their restaurants, the staff is happy to explain the dishes to you and make recommendations. My partner had the quarter chicken with the two sides. He chose the Peruvian corn salad and plantains. The chicken was well-cooked moist and delicious. The skin has a little bit of spice on it which provides a nice kick. I had the chicken soup, which is a large portion of shredded chicken with a variety of fresh vegetables on top of it including onions, red peppers, green onions, carrots and peas. I add a little bit of their green chili sauce to add a bit of a kick and the soup is fantastic. We also ordered the herbal limeade and the mango drink. Both were fresh and delicious and are served without ice, like in Peru, so you get a full glass of drink. I like both of them equally. We ended the meal with the Dulce de leche cake, and while I wasn't a big fan of the whipped cream icing at first, after a few bites I decided that it was the perfect topping to a very delicious version of this cake. I will definitely be having it again. The only downside I can speak to is that they don't have baffles on the ceiling and so it is very loud in the restaurant. If you're wanting to have a quiet conversation, you won't be having it inside. Fortunately they provide a few covered tables outside and despite a lot of traffic going by I suspect it is quieter than inside the restaurant. Having said that, I would highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

First time eating here. I had the Arroz Chaufa with chicken and it was awesome! The staff is friendly and outgoing. The atmosphere is inviting and the space was clean. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come to my table. Will definitely try again! read more

Ripoff Alert. They must search high and low to find the worlds smallest and skinniest chickens. Don't be fooled, these are meatless grocery store chickens with over-processed sauces. If you come there hungry you'll either leave hungry or broke. The sides try to be interesting but they are just sad, small, and disappointing. Don't bother! read more

Awesome. I've been here with with my family to dine in and we've always had great experiences. My local company also enjoys the food, and we've ordered large to-go lunches often. Once again, today was an awesome experience. I called at 11 a.m. and placed an order for 15 people for pick-up. Not only did they take the order over the phone with a name for each order, but they made sure to double-check all that I needed to take with me back to work. The associate who took my order was wonderful, as was the staff who prepared our food and to the manager and an associate who walked the order out to my car. Who does that?!? They do. First time here. Had 1/4 chicken which wasn't bad. Sides were the canary beans & a salad. The canary beans were a bit spicy but I didn't like the thick sauce it was in. The salad was fine but again the balsamic dressing was too thick. It makes me wonder what type of thickening agent is in both of them. My friend had the same but with plantains & said they were good. I'd eat there again but would select some other sides before I determined if I'd bother after that trip. read more

Food was delicious and service was amazing. Wasn't sure what to order so Millie (cashier) offered some suggestions - that turned out to be yummy. While I was seated, Verina (not sure on spelling) asked if I needed anything and brought out ketchup for me as I missed it when I was inside. A manager stopped by and encouraged me to try sauce. The food was delicious as always. But more importantly the customer service was great! It's nice to go into a place and see smiling faces during this pandemic. I don't know of a Viva Chicken I have visited that I didn't love. But this location brought a little more love to the table. The entire staff I was able to observe, seemed to just enjoy being there which made the atmosphere so pleasant. The manager Jefferson (I hope that's his name) was more than just a routine manager. He was interacting with the guests (me being one of them) and helping the wait staff. He was really going above and beyond what you would expect a manager to be doing. This place makes you forget you are eating fast food! Way to go Sun Valley for adding this classy place. The food was fresh and just all around good. My family and I visited Viva Chicken tonight for dinner. We typically go to a different location but decided to give the Sun Valley location a try since we were in the area. We ordered a whole chicken and when it came to our table we noticed the chicken was pink and had several uncooked blood spots in the pieces. Naturally we took it back and showed the manager. She acted like nothing was wrong but still replaced our order. The cooks and kitchen staff piped off and said "they're stupid, did you explain we cook with charcoal and it's made to be a little pink." I then quickly explained to the manager that I under stand how Peruvian style chicken is cooked. My stepdad is Peruvian and actually used to manage the store that Viva chicken was born from (i even told her we knew the owner). I know the chicken is always tented pink, but this wasn't just pink, it was raw! She replaced our order but when I took it back to our table, the replacement chicken was also raw. This chicken was actually more pink and raw than the first. So my dad took it back this time and talked to the manager. She quickly got an attitude and tried to tell him she knew for a fact it was cooked to 190°. So he questioned her and said "how would you know if you were waiting tables? Do you have a thermometer we can check the chicken with right now?" She said no I will not do that. So my dad demanded a refund. In the end we did get a refund but the service we received tonight was beyond unacceptable. You would think they would take a complaint like raw chicken seriously. They could really make someone sick! They saw the chicken both times. I really dont understand how a manager can just ignore a huge health violation like that! She was very unprofessional and had no concern for her customers. We will NEVER be back to this location and I would highly advise everyone else to really check their food before eating there. read more

I love Viva Chicken. My favorite location is on Elizabeth. I'm so happy you opened one in Indian Trail. I wasn't impressed with my food today. Clearly the cooks are not reading the boxes when it says no tomatoes or no avocado. Both sandwiches came with both. Also the steak wasn't well done. My husband and I ate at this location recently. We enjoyed the food very much. I had the quarter chicken with green beans and sweet potato fries. The chicken is very moist. I am very picky about green beans, but I loved these and I think the sweet potato fries are my favorite part of the meal. My husband had a beef and rice dish. The presentation of the dish was remarkable. He said it's almost to pretty to eat. But, he did eat it, and he enjoyed every bite of it. The servers were excellent and the whole staff was pleasant and observant of all the customers. Everyone should try this place. You'll go back! read more
