To all who consider using Vivint for home security I highly recommend that you DO NOT use this company. They are not reliable & they continue to charge for services that you're not using. I was with the company for over 9 years. I relocate to areas in which I've transferred my Vivint services to every home I lived in. My last relocation assignment I decided not to use Vivint because each move they charged me $199 for transfer service. After calling them several times to cancel service each representative will give a website to request cancellation. Each attempt to cancel the website wouldn't work. So I called again & continued be led to this website. I haven't had service with Vivint since we sold our home in October 2021. They have charged me over $500 for services I was no longer using & for a home we no longer lived in. This company is a wipe off. They will send you to collections knowing that the services are no longer being used. By the way I was not on any contract with this company.Now this company have my money for services I never used. We have had Vivint for many years. They said we needed to upgrade our system as mhz. Has changed. We be quoted one $500. For plus added another camera. Then when they finished installing its now a $1,000. Plus. Technician says oh we will bill you in installments over 5 months. Okay done. But then they overdraft our bank for full amount. We should know better as this is the second time they have mislead us. Talk about taking advantage of senior citizens, we feel like this company preys on fear. Someone put a hand written note on our front door about this company saying our neighbors referred us. Strange because we have no solicitations signs in our yard. My husband called to inquire and two days later someone showed up to our home after 7pm to install equipment. Needless to say that night I read over the invoice and was outraged with the cost of almost $6000. It took days to get someone on the phone to cancel service. When I inquired about what is included in the $6000 one thing was six sensors. We already had an alarm system in our home so they used those sensors. When I brought it to their attention I was told when your old ones stop working we will just bring you a new one. They charged $300 for sensors we never received. If you value your money, time and sanity, avoid Vivint at all costs! I signed up for a security system in December and things were fine for 6 weeks. Then I started getting notifications that my account was seriously past due and about to be canceled. When I called, they assured me that it was a mistake (no kidding) and would be taken care of. Over the next month, the notifications continued and I called 3 more times and received the same assurances. Of course, the problem wasn't fixed, my cameras were shut off and I was sent to collections! For whatever reason, they were billing the entirety of the contract up front instead of our agreement of $62mo. Over then next few weeks of me calling and them promising to set things right, they did nothing. They couldn't simply fix the issue and keep me as a customer. Finally, after like 8 calls, we agreed that they would come pick up the cameras and refund me the cost of the equipment. I had to eat like $250 for the install but I wanted to be done with them. They were on time to pick up the equipment in mid July but I am still trying to collect the refund I am owed and it is now August 30th. I could go on and on with details of how they would say pretty much whatever they needed to to placate me in the moment. They would lie and make promises that the next person I talked to would have no record of. This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a company. In total, I have spent 4hr 31min on the phone dealing with this. I havent wanted to post my critique of them because I didn't want to jeopardize the refund they owe me. At this point, I'm not certain I will ever get it and I feel I have nothing to lose. Maybe a higher up at Vivint will see this and finally resolve my problems but I'm not going to hold my breath. We had a sales representative come by our house today trying to sell us a security system they had. I was not interested as we had our own cameras already. My husband was still talking to the sales representative when I walked away. When I returned, my husband had invited the sales representative to come inside the home (dining area) so I walked away. After their conversation, my husband had walked into our bedroom where I was and told me that the sales representative wanted to talk to me. I told my husband I was not interested as we had our own cameras already installed and I was busy. As soon as I said that, the sales representative had WALKED down the hall to the bedroom door and started trying to sell the security services to me even though my husband had already mentioned to him that I was not interested. It was then, where I felt as if my privacy had been invaded by this sales representative. This sales representative did not have any manners and just walked through our home like it was his trying to sell the security system. Please, please don't invite these people in. All my husband wanted was a quote and I wasn't interested, yet this person was trying to push his way around our house trying to get us to buy. Very unprofessional of this gentlemen. Your company sucks! I feel like you're only after money its so expensive. It started with setting it up and the guy lying telling us there was no extra fees come to find out in our county we are charged every year to have it activated. WHAT BULLSHIT! Then bought the fire alarms which wouldn't stop going off. We had the fire department show up and then you wanted to charge us a fee when it was YOUR faulty equipment. Called customer service at least 6 times just to get told to change the fucking battery then sent someone twice to move the alarms to other side of the house... still didnt work and was told you guys COULDN'T HELP us its OUR PROBLEM. Finally got ahold of a so called manger to get them removed and tried charging us and then tried getting it replaced with a camera and got charged a fee for that shit too. Then the so called 5 year batteries for back and garage door didn't even last a year called for that but those are my problem I have to buy those myself $80 each later. I had static noise come from the panel multiple times. The cameras only record when they want to. And not just this stuff either my mother also used this company to. She had her car STOLEN from her driveway and the camera didn't catch a single thing you did nothing to help her other than replace a camera CHARGER HER A FEE and o so sorry. She canceled the company and was told she owes $5,000 with no legal explanation as to why so she tried taking you to court and you dropped it. I would give a negative 10 rating. We accepted their offer June 15 (wrong thing to do). Our story goes like this: Had 2 items installed on day of signing, was told tech would be out the next day to finish ( June 16th ). June 16th technician did not show up or call. We called Vivint. Vivint told us our appt was June 23rd we told them we wanted to cancel, did not receive the document to cancel. Sent acancel letter to documents@vivint.com. "Mike" assured that everything would be installed and complete. We gave it another chance. We had called to cancel the appt due to sickness and was told our appt was set for June 28, 2022. Again, no call and no show. When we called to inquire we were told our appt was set for July 7th. We finally were able to get a tech out on June 30th after a lot of yelling at their customer service/ loyalty people. June 30th tech shows up, installs more stuff but did not have all the items. He put us back on a rolling schedule for when the parts arrive. We weren't having it. Called on July 15th and spoke with "Gabby" same old line-can't cancel because it's out of your 3 day window. I don't even have a complete system but yet can't cancel? Was told a contract was forwarded to me. I haven't received my e-mail not postal mail. Gabby indicated to us that the 3 day window occurs when you are completely installed. Gabby had made a appointment for us for July 19th between the hours of 8-12. Guess what! No call and no show. We tried calling again and kept getting the call where no one can make a decision. Their only solution is to assure you that when they schedule a tech out everything will be complete. Out of frustration, gave up and tried the next day. July 20th, called again, this time we were on the phone for 2.5 hours explaining this over and over. Spoke to Gabby who then transferred us to to Brekkan, explained everything again. She advised we resend our cancel letter with a service # they assign and other information- didn't know we needed, Mike did not tell us ( Makes it easy on their end that they did not process due to missing information). She also spoke with their ROR people/ dept. to get approval because of all the mishaps. Thought we finally cancelled. Nope!! Received a call back from a Aarinetta, whose very gruff and matter of fact. She indicated they can't process the cancel because it's out of the 3 day window. I explained I just got off the with Brekkan and told what she said. Aarinetta said I don't know who that is and there isn't any notes ( after we were told there was before we hung up with Brekkan) but it's wrong. I explained what Gabby said regarding the 3 day window. Aarinetta said that was wrong and I wish they would stop telling people that. Looks like it's time to hire a lawyer! read more

decent product unless you need to talk to someone. Spent 2 hours on the phone with a rep, Our door lock jammed and the internal mechanism broke. They attempted to tell us it was the wifi causing the issue when you can hear parts jingling in the auto door lock. After said 2 hours on chat / hold, they finally agreed to send a replacement, NOT A TECHNICIAN to fix the problem, in the meantime, we can't enter or exit our front door. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Left ADT for this nonsense. The fact that we have to wait two weeks to use our OWN front door because no technician can install the door lock, and we have to call them again once it arrives and install it ourselves... When told no he then proceeded to question what I was doing and where I was planning on going. He was asking what I did for a living and where I worked at. The second day he came he seemed to have forgotten the encounter we had the previous day and again asked to come inside to talk about paperwork. For all the folks on yelp that have had issues with Vivint, I highly recommend consulting with a lawyer. I also have had issues with this company, my first encounter was 6/24 by the time they were done blowing smoke up my ???? It was after midnight, yes I got suckered into it. I cancelled (it wasn't easy) and they got their equipment on 7/25, left holes all over my house, screws & wires on my driveway and sidewalk. My a/c didn't work after they took theirs and put mine back up saying it doesn't work, had no concern that the temp was in the high 90s and left me with no a/c and I'm 70 years old. Also when installing my doorbell that no longer rang in the house. There is so much more to this headache story but I just hit the major points that had me roaring mad. The point is this nightmare is cancelled thanks to Riley at Vivint, the only person who had any morals. If she couldn't or wouldn't help me then I already had a lawyer waiting, he suggested that I try to resolve this until it became unbearable to deal with. BEWARE. I requested the cancellation after they installed equipment that did not work. They have not shown to 3 appointments to remove the equipment. I believe I will have to take them to court to have them remove the equipment and cancel my loan. On top of that they ripped down my old system and refuse to reimburse me. All around they are crooks. Not very timely! Took an entire evening to install to find out it was not set up correctly. The product is cool if you have no issues.

Okay, like a fool I ordered this system. It sounded good. What I was really interested in was the doorbell camera which would alert you when a package was delivered and alert you should someone try to grab it. Well, not all was as good as described. For one reason or another, the doorbell could not be installed. Then the panel emits this huge red light on my wall when armed and a huge green light on my wall when disarmed, not a bright led, a huge light. No literature was provided with the security system, nor was any instruction, explanation given at the time of installation. Because the light really bothered me and because I actually felt that I was under surveillance, I called the following day to have the system removed. They were able to send out a technician to remove the equipment promptly. However, a huge hole was left in my wall that had just been skim coated, and my wooden wainscoting was splintered and had a hole through it! To top it all off, when my thermostat was replaced, the trim ring could be found nowhere! So much for everything being returned exactly to its former condition! Vivint is going to reimburse me for the damage, but I'm still left with the mess they made! Also this system is hard wired to your electricity, so if you lose power, you lose security. I'd look for another system. read more

They lose your payments, they double bill you, they turn your camera recording capability off on Halloween, they spam call you, there are problems with their equipment and if you say anything to them about it, their solution is for you to upgrade your equipment usually at the cost of $249. and the list goes on and on!!!! I bought an extra outdoor camera from them and paid them from my bill pay account from my bank, they lost the payment and want me to pay them again! I verified with my bank that they were paid, which they were paid electronically, as they have been paid with my monthly bills, but they want me to verify why they can't find my payment! I have spent the last 2 days on the phone with them with no results! The topper, they want you to recommend them to your family and friends and they ill give you a discount on your bill.
