DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have been trying to contact our representative since March, and have…read moretried to contact HSE multiple times with no answer every time. I have been double charged for months and I want to prevent that from happening to anyone else. I would like to formally file a complaint regarding my experience with Home Security Experts, an ADT Authorized Dealer, and specifically Sales Representative Jesse Soltelo (Dealer License #12352). My family originally purchased ADT equipment and monitoring services through Home Security Experts in November 2024. We had no billing issues and were satisfied customers until we moved residences in March 2025. Prior to our move, I contacted Jesse Soltelo to discuss transferring our existing ADT service and equipment to our new residence. During that conversation, I was informed that rather than paying the approximately $200 transfer fee, he would cancel our existing service and enroll us in a new account with new equipment and services at our new address for no cost. Based on those representations, we proceeded with the new installation. On March 20, 2025, I received a DocuSign contract for the new installation. The agreement reflected an installation fee of $99; however, I understood that amount would be waived, and the documentation indicated a balance due of $0. Despite this, we were subsequently charged the $99 installation fee. I immediately contacted Jesse regarding the discrepancy. He acknowledged the issue and informed me that the $99 charge would be refunded. To date, I do not believe we have received that refund. Shortly thereafter, we discovered we were being billed for both the new account and the account associated with our previous residence. I again contacted Jesse and asked whether the prior account had been canceled as promised. Rather than responding via text message, Jesse called me and stated that he was unaware we were still being charged for the previous account. He assured me that he would take care of canceling the old service. When no resolution occurred, I followed up multiple times. After additional conversations, Jesse acknowledged that we should be refunded for the months we had been charged since our move and confirmed both our previous and current addresses. However, despite those assurances, the issue was never resolved. Following those discussions, my messages began going unanswered. Eventually, my text messages no longer appeared to deliver, and I was unable to obtain any further updates regarding the status of our account, cancellation, or refund. As a direct result of these failures: * Our previous account was never properly canceled despite being represented as canceled. * We have continued to incur charges for monitoring services at a residence we no longer occupy. * We were charged for two ADT accounts simultaneously. * We were charged a $99 installation fee that we were told would not be owed. * We have spent significant time attempting to resolve this issue through the salesperson who originally handled our account. * We are now receiving repeated collection and billing calls from ADT regarding the account associated with our previous residence. The most concerning aspect of this situation is that we relied on the representations made by your sales representative. Had we been informed that the original account would remain active or that we would continue to be contractually responsible for both accounts, we would have handled the move and transfer process differently. Instead, we followed the guidance provided by your representative and are now facing months of duplicate charges, ongoing collection activity, and concerns regarding potential damage to our credit due to an account that should have been canceled when we moved. I respectfully request the following: Immediate cancellation of all ADT services associated with our previous residence. A complete investigation into why the prior account was not canceled as represented. A full refund of all monitoring charges incurred on the previous residence after our move date. Review and reimbursement of the $99 installation charge that we were advised would be waived. Written confirmation that any delinquency, collections activity, or negative reporting associated with the prior account will be corrected and will not impact our credit. A written explanation of what occurred internally and why this issue remained unresolved despite multiple communications with your representative. I have retained screenshots of my communications with Jesse Soltelo, call records, and supporting documentation regarding the installation agreement and account activity, which I am prepared to provide upon request. I have been double charged since MARCH OF THIS YEAR. I sent my original email back in May with no response, due to lack of resolution I will now make my family's experience public. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I would give zero stars if possible.

We hired Liberty Bell Alarm to install a Control4 Home Automation System. We wanted an integrated system consisting of burglar alarm, security cameras, automated door locks, audio/video distribution (multiple HD sources to all rooms of the house in a matrix application), whole house audio, pool and spa control, HVAC and lighting control. Such a complicated system required them to access every part of our home, outside, inside, attics, and garage. The result was a system that handles all of the goals we set and is easily operated. This was a complicated process, and we felt as if the Liberty Bell Alarm team became members of our family. Each worker treated our home as if it was theirs. Great care was taken of our new wood floors and rooms were left at least as clean as they were before work started. Generally speaking, having your home taken over by workers, is not something homeowners enjoy. Well, this team of knowledgeable men was a joy to work with. Not only was our home cared for, but each of them was able to communicate clear instructions to both me (an engineering audio/video junkie) and my wife (the I just want music to come out of the speakers type) with ease. My wife and I highly recommend Liberty Bell Alarm. For knowledge of a highly technical product, for the highly trained team of professionals that work in your home, for follow-up on the use of your product, for the pride they take in a job well done, I don't feel you could do better than Liberty Bell Alarm. read more

"I have good news, and even better news," Joe Berge said. After 20 years as a customer, and almost losing our account due to various miscommunications, including 2 miserable days of alarms from our CO and Smoke alarms, caping it off with the Fire Department showing up at our door, Joe Berge stepped in, to save the day! Joe met with us and said, "I have good news and even better news". He proposed an upgrade to our outdated old system that included a "Silver Package" along with some additional items, i.e. Firefighter device and glass break sensor. Joe absolutely went above and beyond normal customer service to ensure we would be happy with the new system, including setting up an appointment within a few days to have the new system installed. Within 3 days he was out again, this time to introduce us to Doug, our installer, who is one of the kindest and most patient gentlemen I have ever met. Doug spent a tremendous amount of time, not only making certain everything was done perfectly but as well, ensured we were satisfied with the placement of all system items. Then Doug, made certain that my husband and myself were comfortable with not only our new system, but our download on our cell phone. He patiently instructed us in how to use everything... we are electronically challenged! Liberty Bell set up our home theater system after moving in 8+ years ago. Had to call recently to have a universal remote replaced (it was beyond dead or repairable, or so I thought...), and to have some old outdoor speakers replaced because they weren't working anymore either. I also wanted to look into a new soundbar for below our TV. I spoke to Kenny when I called in, and after explaining the issue, he said he would send a tech to evaluate the situation. After asking several questions, Kenny said I may not need a new soundbar, but he would let the tech look at everything. Josh Rydman showed up, early and smiling, and had the "irreparable" remote working within 15 minutes, the old, "non-working" speakers working, better than ever, and the soundbar was working just fine. He did recommend an upgrade to the universal remote, but did not push anything on us, which was a welcome relief. Josh was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We were expecting to pay at least several hundred dollars that day and ended up paying for just the service call - another welcome relief! We are waiting for a call to discuss the remote upgrade, which we are ready to do, happily, and may add a few other services as well because both Josh and Kenny were honest and forthcoming. I interviewed several companies so we can install a smart audio/security and entertainment system at our new custom home, and from the moment I met with Mark I knew he would be my pick hands down. He was honest very knowledgeable and very responsive even though it was at the peak of all subs being very busy. He always delivered what he promised and his crew was outstanding. Every single individual that was part of his crew was very professional very patient and an abundance of knowledge. They installed speakers through out the house cameras alarm and integrated it with control 4 System that is very simple to use even my 9 year old can operate it with ease. Liberty Bell was recommended to us by a neighbor who had used them for several years. We had a developer-installed alarm system, but decided to expand our 11 year old security system to include exterior cameras. They were able to work with our existing equipment for the alarm sensors and add hi-def state of the art cameras and tie it all together with the alarm.com app for our smart phones. Brandon (our sales rep), and our installers were very efficient and professional. The installers were LibertyBell employees and not contractors. After the installation, we had an issue with one of our smartphone's access to the app, and Brandon set up a conference call to alarm.com to walk us through the troubleshooting. The problem was identified and resolved promptly. All of the employees stress that there is a LibertyBell employee on call 24/7 to respond to clients' questions and problems. We were fortunate to have Will come out the following week to install a component that we decided to add, and he patiently answered many questions we had about the app, the control panel, and how to arm our house without the shrill beeps that sent our dog into a frenzy. All I heard was "Sure" , "we'll help get that set up"..What started out as just having a technician , Greg Sears, come out and help find the speaker wires in the ceiling of our "Smart Home", turned into Installing the speakers for me , offering me a FANTASTIC deal on a SONOS Home Sound system and installing it! I can't say enough good things about Greg Sears...Extremely meticulous installer..He wanted those speakers in perfect position. Extremely knowledgable, answered ALL my questions, and boy did I have a lot of them. And Greg helped with some electronic things that weren't really part of his 'Job description". I can't say enough good things about this company. They were here when they said they would be. Mark (Don't know his last name, I think he might be one of the owners) dropped whatever he was doing to deliver the SONOS system so as not to interrupt Greg's installation progress. I am a general building contractor so I was interested in the new design center on S. Watt. Brandon Koons showed me around and it was a nice experience all around. While there I expressed a need for someone to hook up my new 65" flat screen TV (purchased elsewhere) to all of my old components. Some of which were as much as 15 years old. I met "Chris", one of the "Control 4 Installers", at my house to see what could be done. He arrive 5 minutes early, clean neat and business like. He started work immediately and got everything connected as if he has worked on this very same system every day of the week. We just got our old security system upgraded by Liberty Bell yesterday. We had two separate visits from their technicians to determine our needs and talk about what was important to our family. Antonio came out first to go over our old unit and talk about our options. He was very thorough and spent a lot of time going over the new technology. We could not have asked for better service. Antonio was great. Our second visit to install the new unit and go over every single detail on how the new system worked, setting up our phones, making sure all alarms were set to monitor movement was Jason. When I bought my new home 26 years ago, a Liberty Bell Alarm was already installed. It was excellent, trouble-free and the subscription was very reasonable. Any time I ever had questions or needed to replace the backup battery, they were very helpful. I recently had a much needed upgrade. Due to the aging original wiring embedded in walls over the last 25+ years, there were sporadic false alarms being triggered randomly. Different technicians had come out over several months to trouble shoot and remedy the problem. They were all good, but it wasn't until Jason came out and thoroughly tested the system and bypassed the deteriorating wiring with wireless sensors that the problem was finally solved. Great customer service! I had been shopping for a new TV for over 9 months, but couldn't find the one that was right for me. I have been to the bigger stores and some of the smaller specialty shops, but found what I was looking for at Liberty Bell. Their knowledgeable sales staff helped me select the TV that was right for me and my family. I like to play video games, my wife watches TV and my daughter has her movies. The sales staff was knowledgably enough to ask the right questions so we could determine which TV that was the right type, size, and price for me. Setting up my new TV was simple, I did nothing and they did everything. In the end I have my new LED TV that looks great! Liberty Bell also offers home automation which sounded really cool. Their staff has a real passion for the business and was able to explain home automation and what it is exactly. I wouldn't do it justice to explain the specifics of home automation, but the process sounded easy. read more

Due to a family emergency, I am going to be moving up to Seattle, but I have nothing but great things to say about my time here. They have technicians dedicated to ensuring the best experience possible. They are a company who is going to get the job done no matter what and they are going to get the job done the right way. I wish there was the opportunity for zero stars. Please - please - do NOT use this company. They might sound like the only option. They might sound like they know what they are doing. They might seem like the most convenient option. All that said - please take my word and my communities word - they are NOT the company you should be using for home theatre or audio installation. Bottom line - they have cost our family thousands of dollars. They are unbelievably incompetent and should not be allowed to make a spread on selling customers systems and conning them into subpar systems. Oh - forget about subpar systems - we have not been able to TURN OUR TV ON for a week. Trust me - they are getting to it. I've read thousands of reviews on services and products - considering all viewpoints had another side of the story. I thought they had issues - but we won't. Please trust me review. Liberty has done a wonderful Job installing our Control4 System. We purchased a new home in in August 2011, and Liberty has been with us since the beginning. We control All Lights, Doors, Garage Doors, Video, Audio and Security with 12 camera's etc. This system is amazing. We just added an 1800' garage and this has been added to the C4 system as well. This makes it really easy at night to hit one button and all lights, locks and security is done! The support team at Liberty make all the difference. With a large install, there are always little things to work out and their team have always been polite and are able to resolve the problems. Mark has always been honest and up front on what we can do, and we have push them to some interesting limits. I am very happy with our system and looking forward to expanding it now to our outdoor Kitchen and retreat! read more

I had a pleasant experience when I called for an estimate for a home security system. Mark spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me and my boyfriend explaining the system and answering many of our questions. He was prompt with the estimate and the price didn't change. He scheduled Sam Murphy to install my home alarm. Sam was informative and professional through the entire process. He even had to come back out (by the next day) to repair one of my door sensors that my kids must have knocked off when they were going in and out of the sliding glass door. My kids tripped the alarm unbeknownst to me and the monitoring company was very quick to respond. Liberty Bell was referred to my by a coworker who has happily used them for the last eight years. 2 Great service calls Jason did an upgrade to my alarm siren. I wanted a new bell to go with my upgraded alarm system. He did a nice job installing new hardware. The new bell looks great! With new equipment, there was hiccup with the system and Yeng came out troubleshooted my system and found the root of the problem. My alarm system is split into 2 partition to allow for a guest area. There was a configuration issue with the bell not receiving power. It took Yeng less than an hour to diagnose the issue and fixed it under warranty. After speaking with Yeng, it turns out he was the same technician that worked on my home alarm system when we moved in to our new home in 2016. We have had Liberty Bell Alarm for the past 5 years at our other home and loved the system! We recently moved to Fair Oaks, with Comcast trying to sell us their version of a security system. When their technician came out, I asked him 3 questions--his answer was no to 2 of the 3 and I knew immediately they were NOT for me! Today, Liberty Bell installed a state of the art system in our F.O. home. Doug and Andrew made sure everything was set up exactly like we wanted, were extremely patient helping these two (technically challenged) old folks) link our phones and computers so we could check things from afar, and explained EVERYTHING about the system in a manner we could easily understand and follow. After doing some research, I wanted to integrate a Control 4 system into my home. I had Best Buy do the initial install but found their attention to detail, follow up and customer service to be like you would expect from a large corporate provider. On the second phase of the install, I contacted Mark at Liberty Bell to explore what differences their approach may be. Its almost as if the two companies were in different professions. Liberty Bell's crew from top to bottom were supremely qualified, engaging and efficient. I'm working on phase four with them now and I couldn't be any happier with their performance. They are always more than willing to answer even the dumbest questions and are extremely patient walking you through the same process for the third time. We bought a Elliot home in the Empire Ranch Folsom area about 6 years ago. I can't say I was extremely happy with Elliot Homes but the one good thing they did was partner up with Liberty Bell Alarms/Home Theater. We bought the Alarm System when buying the house but years later we called them to put in the Surround Sound System also. Very professional and knowledgable. My husband and I got some great tips and the guys were so friendly. Mark even helped me out with a fundraiser for my children's school. Now that's what I call customer service. Our Bonus room is our next big job and I know who we will be calling. There is something to be said for family run businesses...Customer Service is always their first priority. read more

Great customer service! I needed an appointment to have someone come out and reconfigure window alarm wiring and sensors. The wiring needed to be installed by Liberty Bell before the installation of two new replacement windows. I talked with Casey and he was very helpful and flexible scheduling the appointment so it would coordinate with our window contractor's schedule. When the old windows were out, Jeff came out on time and worked with our window contractor on the placement and installation of the wiring in the window framing. Jeff came back the next day and mounted the sensors, connected the wiring and made sure the system was working properly with the new windows. Jeff was very professional and thorough. read more
