It's a family establishment with plentiful seating, though I usually get takeout. Even so, after you order, the owners ALWAYS bring you a few pieces of fruit to enjoy while you wait. Always. We wanted to try a new breakfast place with my family, so we landed at this place to check them out. The place was not busy so we said let's do it. The place is clean, menu looks good but we did wait about an hour to get our food I'm not sure why. When we finally got our food it was a bit dry and on the burnt side. Our toast came later when we were almost done. We had to wait another long time to get our bill so we just stood up and paid at the front. We ordered an omelette 16$, steak and eggs 27$ (says New York but we got a T-bone steak...asked for medium on the steak and it was a step above well done.) and a seat of pancakes about 12$ plus 3 drinks. The kids had burgers (the fries were so delish), I had the Cali Eggs Benedict (also delish), and the hubby had a regular breakfast. Thoughtful gestures like the lady quietly bringing a little paper cup for my son's gum ball that he'd allowed to roll around the table! This family-rub place appears to do all of the breakfast standards well, but we wavered toward the Breakfast Fried Rice and the Bulgogi Benedict. The Breakfast Fried Rice was nice and crispy (sort of like you would have in a heated stone bowl), with and egg. It was a really nice dish. Adorable place, this diner made me feel like I was walking into someone's dream that had been realized. It was a rainy morning, which made the place feel even cozier inside. We arrived at 8:30ish on a Saturday to the place empty save one customer. I was worried they may not get enough business. But as we ate, people started to trickle in! Turns out we were just early birds. The staff is super friendly. The coffee was hot and fresh. The hash browns crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. They made a mean corned beef. At the end of the meal they presented us with a little piece of fruit with our check, which was a sweet surprised and very endearing. We will be returning to try their Korean food. I called in to place an order to be picked up. The lady on the phone was so patient and continued to repeat herself without getting frustrated because I couldn't understand what she was asking. Their time estimate for 6 bacon burritos was accurate and I only had to wait ~5 minutes from when I arrived. The lady (I'm assuming Vivi?) gave me some fruit while I was waiting. The gesture was completely unexpected and I really appreciated it. Though the bacon burritos are a bit pricy ($13.50) and even more expensive on DoorDash ($17), everyone that tried these agreed that it's worth it as a treat every so often. The burritos are always flavorful and we are always so excited to have them. They have the perfect amount of sauce/cream so the burrito isn't dry. Vivis, on Avendia de Los Arboles. They changed the name(not sure why, Jinkys was pretty catchy)but forgot to change the name on the menus. Reading the menu-I deduced it was still the same. The tables are sticky and from the looks of it, the only that changed was their prices. They're trying to compete with bigger name restaurants(Lazy Dog, Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory)but if they want to charge those prices, they're going to have to revamp the food quality and decor. The owner needs to go to one of the above mentioned restaurants and order a burger, and sandwich, then go back to his own and compare. On the top of the base $12.5 we add cucumber $1, sea weed $1 which is not the green sea weed we got from the poke, but tiny pinch of aged, yellow dry one like expired for long time. Kimichi $2. Egg $1. Total of $17.5 which is large poke price. However it comes with very tiny unappealing plastic bowl of things like 1/3 portion of regular Poke, very disappointed! We also ordered French toast, full size with fruit +$2. Size decent but is the worse taste French toast of all! I can't believe we missed this opportunity for years. So far we have been 3 times for breakfast (thanks to PG&E). Two ladies running the place are delightful and welcoming. The place is strip mall simple but the decor is a pleasant surprise; cheerful, colorful and ton's and tons of pictures, of what I have to guess, are local patrons. 9 years successful!
