came here once before and got a toe infection but didn't wanna blame them if it was a freak thing and dirt got trapped. went here a second time recently because i needed my nails done last minute and didn't think much of it. the place wasn't swept, it looked like they weren't using fresh tools for each new person and the nails themselves were so rushed they looked awful and sloppy once done. they didn't do anything for my cuticles on my hand, nail polish flooded my nail beds bleeding over, a bunch of nail polish in my fingers surrounding my nails, my nails were filed unevenly, and all this is after i showed her a picture of a sheer shimmer nail which she said she didn't have so i just settled for another color only to see the color i requested on the wall displayed. i made sure to clarify that they were going to do a full pedicure after seeing how horribly my hands turned out which they did do however the nail polish looked just a streaky and sloppy as my hands i just paid more for maintenance. my toe nail heads were flooded with polish and bleed over and look so so bad. i just don't think this place is worth it. they take on too many clients at once but then rush the entire service. i wish i had just not done my nails at all or gone somewhere else. total waste of my money. read more

This is the worse salon I have ever been to. I just got home and could cry by how horrible I was treated as a customer. My request was simple. I asked for a gel fill and picked a color tip. They did not remove my previous purple color and simply thought it would be okay to paint over it. When I stopped them to tell them I did not like this, their response was " well what do you want". The nail growth was still visible as well. The crazy part is that they did not see anything wrong with this. They then tried to correct the issue by putting a glitter sparkle over the whole nail. I can not believe this salon is still in buisness. I can not believe they still charged me $15 for nothing. I went to this salon because they are known to be "quick" and that is because they do not care about the quality. I now wasted my money and have to take more time out of my day to go to another salon. I was CLEARLY an unhappy customer and they did nothing to change that. I had to find a nail salon VERY last minute and for some reason I only looked at google reviews and not on Yelp when I found this spot. If you care about your health DO NOT go to this salon. Extremely unclean, they don't sanitize anything, and the service was so insanely rude i was genuinely uncomfortable. They tried to cut my toenails with a cuticle cutter in a way that absolutely would have created an ingrown. They also tried to make me put my regular polished nails under the UV LIGHT which is just simply not correct, and somehow both my hands and feet turned out goopy and uneven (maybe from the polish thinner I noticed them Pouring into the color I chose?? Nevertheless I immediately went to CVS and got polish remover and press ons for my hands because that is how bad it was. Take it from someone who's family is in the spa business, run away from this place and do not risk it. It's cheap but absolutely not worth it even in a pinch. read more

Try this place for gel fill they did what seemed like a great job Quick and thorough. Needing to get a few tips for a special occasion I went back. When I went in for a fill, the nails they had to put the tips that broke, they started to turn green like what they were using wasn't sterilized that's all I need to see went home ripped everything off and will never ever go back. They need to learn how to do more sanitization of the equipment and not use the same equipment from person to person very very unsanitary. The state needs to go in that's how bad.. read more

I felt uncomfortable in this salon , the technicians don't listen and they give you attitude. I try to explain to the technician what I want to get done and she wasn't listening and she was looking in different directions when I was speaking to her she was very much in a rush to get to another customer. At one point I was asking her something about the color and she closed her eyes Like she was annoyed that I ask her a question about the polished colors . She was very rude. I was afraid to ask her if she can fix the nail she did not strait . Also They don't have big collection of all colors ,they don't have nail designer stickers also they don't have accessories like a little diamonds nails to choose from . I went in today for a dip manicure. Everyone was very nice, but unfortunately the manicure was not. I dont think they have used the dip nail enough or maybe didn't get training for it. Three other nail techs were standing at the station, watching my tech try and navigate her way through the application. My nails are bulky and shaped terribly (as far as the application of the dip nail goes). They never sanded or filed the nail once the powder was applied to shape it. There are dents, dings, and the top coat is already peeling. The application where the nail meets the cuticle is messy. Not only is the actual finished product below par, but they filed down my nails with the electric nail file so much that I may as well have been getting a set of acrylics put on. One of the appeals of the dip nail is that it leaves your nails stronger and healthier other procedures. They also used UV to seal, which I have never had done with SNS dip nail before. The product they used was called NuGenisis. Over all I am very unhappy and will not be returning. read more

Used to go here years ago and they were great. I didn't have time to go to my normal place & needed a gel fill & nail repair. Oops.... Not sanitary, the shape is all messed up, and although nobody was in there, it was very rushed & sloppy. 2 stars bc she didn't for the nail fix & that was nice of her. I give this place a big fat ZERO. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They may be very inexpensive, but there is a reason for that. I got a French pedicure done there which came out very nice, but there was dead skin all over the floor around the chairs and it was really gross. I then had a gel manicure which I thought, came out great...however, two days later I had what was an infection developing on the side of my finger nail. It was throbbing, so I ended up going to the doctor and getting antibiotics. Overall, I do not trust this place and it's just not clean. read more

I went there twice. My nails were HUGE and began lifting super fast. They didn't take the design I wanted into consideration and the design they chose came out horrible. When I finally found a GREAT place, the woman told me that the set Vivis gave me was scary. Thankfully she was able to save my nails & now they look amazing. I would not go there again. I went in for a gel manicure & gel pedicure without an appointment - granted, it was a slow weekday afternoon, but they did a great job. I started with salon for pedicure and manicure early spring 2018. Technicians rarely spoke directly to me, but spoke with other employees in their language. Had several difficult appointments. Last week was the worst. The technician did not understand what I wanted and finished service and left me in the "nail dry mode" while she attended to three clients that came into salon. The gentleman who worked there was helpful in making sure my nails were set. I do not recommend this salon nor will I ever return. They need to reevaluate their commitment to their clients. I have gone here for over a decade. They are always polite to me, I always have a good experience getting mani/pedis. I have had problems with nails before, if you ask them they will fix it!! You get what you pay for with them, good prices for a good job, nothing too fancy but still nice! I also get my eyebrows waxed here and they do a great job. I am not sure why all the poor reviews, but they seem to be from a while ago. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday afternoon, had appointments for 2pm for pedicures and gel manicures. We were greeted and taken right away. The polish selection is very good. The massage chairs and soaking tubs are nice. The manicurist did a great job buffing and scrubbing my feet! I was very happy with the polish job. My gel manicure was also very good. My nails look very nice and she listened to what I wanted. I wasn't thrilled with the design work and for that reason I couldn't give 5 stars. It wasn't good and if the manicurist wasn't comfortable doing it, I wished she had said so and I wouldn't have gotten it. I will go back again, but not get the design. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the staff and services and will return again. The prices are very competitive. read more

The only reason I came here is because of the $5 coupon for a mani and pedi. Now I know why they're giving out coupons. The place was small, empty and I could have just stayed home and did my own nails! The nail polish section needs to restocked with new ones. Most of them are almost empty and dried out from probably sitting there too long. They wear gloves like they're afraid to touch your feet! They don't do a good job cleaning your nails and massaging your feet either. They should start giving out free manicures and pedicures rather than coupons. read more

I can't really say I've had bad customer service at a nail salon. Usually, even when they do a terrible job techs are nice and I let it go. I went in on 12/23 for two broken nails. The Tech that took me was Kim. She rushed through it, and didn't even file or remove the left over broken gel before adding a new tip. Then, I understood that they didn't have the nail color I already had (I'd done my nails elsewhere) so I opted for a lighter color and a design. They didn't have any options for designs #1. She said what do you want? Well, maybe flowers anything. I'm not picky. She continue what do you want with a terrible attitude!!!! I finally became frustrated and said forget it! This nail salon is 4m from my home and I WILL NEVER, NEVER go there again!!! It's not just a lost customer but I hope that by reading this review y'all take my experience into account and go elsewhere. Today, I only spent 5$ but I wanted to leave so bad I left a 20$ and walked out. I usually spend about 120 for my nails and pedi and the same for my sister. That's $2880 a year!!! I had never been to Vivi's Nails before I stopped in for an eyebrow wax. The woman led me to a room in the back of the salon. I sat in the chair while she prepared the wax. She never asked me what I wanted, so I told her I just wanted to have my eyebrows cleaned up. Now, I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for YEARS. I have become quite numb to the process at this point in my life. Getting my eyebrows waxed does not bother me. She began waxing and it was VERY painful, which is highly unusual for me. I could not understand why it hurt so badly. I was looking forward to the cooling gel, that is, until she put it on my face. I'm pretty sure their "cooling gel" has alcohol in it, which increased the burning sensation ten-fold. It wasn't until I got home that I realized she had removed the top layer of skin from underneath my eyebrows. If you are looking for a good eyebrow wax, save yourself a lot of pain and look somewhere else!! read more

I decided to try Vivi's nails because it's on my way home from work, and I thought they were having a special on manicures for $10. (They weren't) I just paid for the worst manicure of my life. The woman doing my nails did such a sloppy job, there are air bubbles and spots missing polish everywhere. She painted the polish all over my cuticles and the skin on the sides of my nails. Honestly, it looks like my 7 year old cousin did this. Someone elses dried up, yellow, nail clipping was on the nail station where I sat - clearly they don't wipe down between customers. I also made the mistake of using the restroom first, and it was disgusting. In the future, I will go to Venus in Rocky Hill... my usual place. Farther drive, but they do my nails beautifully and actually spend time making sure they look perfect. And it's only $10 at Venus! What was I thinking?? read more

Worst manicure I have ever experienced in my life. It was truly horrible. A five year old probably could have done a better job. I got a gel manicure, and I'm pretty sure their gel polish was not actually gel polish and I am confident the manicurist had never learned how to do a gel manicure properly. She did remove the original nail polish I had on originally (which was a dark color) completely and when I asked her nicely to try to remove it all, she said she did and could not get more of it off. That is just the beginning, my nails were clumpy (she put on three thick coats of gel polish) and then when I put them under the UV light they began to crinkle and peel. It was truly disgusting. I showed her and she tried to fix one of my nails, but said the others looked fine (trust me, they did not!). It was horrible, I paid for the awful manicure and promptly went to my regular place - Noble Nails in Rocky Hill, and had them re-do it. Even they were shocked by how bad it was and that anybody would even let me walk out of their salon with my nails looking like that. I went here as it's closest to home, it's inexpensive, and my regular salon went through an ownership change. I had a pedicure and it was completely rushed and not relaxing at all. Very little attention to detail or comfort as a customer. The salon is outdated and felt dirty. It may not actually be, but it was dimly lit and just did not feel clean. I will start off by saying I love Vivi's for pedicures - you seriously can't beat a 20 pedicure, including a design if you want one. However, that being said their gel acrylic full sets are awful. I had my nails done on a Thursday night and by Saturday they were already beginning to peel and pop off. A week later I had to pull them all off because they were looking grungy. I saw a friends nails and she mentioned she just got them done at Vivi's. They looked really nice so I figured I'd try them out, and they're minutes away from my house. I will never go back. I got Shellac (gel) polish, which is meant to last for 2 weeks. Mine didn't even last for 2 days. The next day i already had chips on two different nails and by the third day i could easily peel off an entire nail. Whoever has had real gel polish knows that should not be easy! I went online to look at their hours to have them fix my nails but after reading all of the other reviews on here it doesn't even sound worth it or sanitary. What a waste of $20. Very disappointed. My daughter and I went together - they did not have enough staff for us to relax together - she had to have pedi first - i had manicure. Manicures: stuck our hands in bowls of acetone for 15 + minutes to loosen polish (And seemed annoyed when I pulled my fingers out to inspect them as they were getting eaten by the acetone). They used cuticle clippers and snipped sides of our nails. They were quick and rough. I had to point out she forgot to file a broken nail - and she insisted she did. There were fine hairs coming off the end of my nails with polishing, I had to ask her to remove... she did not seem to see. I almost did not go through with the pedi - but now wanted the hands and feet to match. Staff interaction with clients low. I agree they are not friendly.
