We happen to be in the area and we're craving a quick pizza. While we were looking for a place to eat in and there is a small table there., we decided to order anyway and get it to go. We just ate it in the car.. I was surprised by the crisp bottom to the pizza, but the entire sausage and mushroom pizza was absolutely delicious! I may or may not get back to this particular branch of Vocelli's but we are now a big fan of their pizza! The pizza crust is an important base for the pizza, and this crust is excellent, and is an excellent base for the great sauce and pizza toppings we ordered! I was never really a fan of this restaurant, but was away for a while and thought I'd try it again. Well, it's far worse than I remember it and will be crossing this one off my list.... Permanently! The pizza crust was doughy, the cheese was horrible and the pepperoni was tasteless. BTW, can someone tell me why so many VA pizza joints bother with tasteless pepperoni? To top it off they gave us 'free' David's Cookies. Free, before the dental work you need when you bite into them and break your teeth. They were rock hard. Mind you we are 7 min drive from the location. At 730 we get a call from the driver he is lost. We tell him and 15 min later food is delivered it is cold over cooked and has little meat on it. I ordered from them recently over the Vocelli website. I live on Lakewhite Ct. maybe two miles away from them. I always order from them directly instead of through Grubhub or other apps, because the delivery is faster and you pay less in fees. I got a deluxe pizza ($24.99) and a 20-ounce bottle of Dr. Pepper ($2.69). The pizza showed up in maybe 45 minutes. The delivery charge was $3.49, the sales tax was $1.87, and the tip for the driver was $6.23, for a total of $39.27. Grubhub would have been much more expensive since they kill you with fees. The pizza was really good with fresh ingredients. As I recall it had sausage, pepperoni, cheese, and tomatoes. The crust was not too thick. The Dr. Pepper was still cold when it arrived. The service was quick and friendly. Order directly from local restaurants as much as possible instead of through apps. You will get better service at a better price. First time having Vocelli's and I have to say, this was one heck of a first time! Loved it! Was going over the menu and the owner came out with an awesome suggestion! Cooked it up and we carried it out. Sauce was awesome. Garlic bread was the definition of garlic bread! The rolls? Were on point! Literally do not have a bad thing to say! That "Mike R" guy who is supposedly "elite" on Yelp and gave a bad review because he has heartburn? He clearly doesn't know how to eat and review a pizza joint! Good food, and good customer service. They were incredibly easy going and sweet about the entire situation & when I had gone to pick up the pizza he even wanted to show me to make sure it was perfect and even ran out after me to make sure it was cut properly for me. I have been a loyal customer of Vocelli for years,(especially since I worked there one summer when I was 15 years old), but I must say that our "relationship" ends here. I held a pizza party at my place for election night, and I decided to order from Vocelli since there was a 30% discount. The group voted on The artisan chicken carbonara pizza. But to our surprise, the pizza was pretty much a foreshadow of the results of our 2016 presidential election; disappointing to say the least. The bacon on the pizza was burnt, the ingredients did not seem fresh at all, and the garlic sauce that came with the pizza was expired. Also, Vocellis never called me nor emailed me to notify me that the order was ready, and when you order online they tell you that they will call or email as soon as the order is ready to be picked up. I won't order from this place anymore. First of all they have screwed up my order multiple times and end up delivering a lot of crap I didn't order, seemingly on purpose to overcharge me. But my last experience on 10/22/23 was the worst. The delivery guy took over 2 hours to get me my order, only after I flagged him down after observing him drive around lost in my neighborhood several times. Then when he delivered my food, the Styrofoam containers and food within were completely smashed, and the pizza was smashed to the side in the box, completely separated from toppings, and the box was covered in grease inside and out. All the food was cold and inedible. I called to complain and the restaurant didn't care at all, nevermind offer me a refund. Granted it is the drivers fault, but he didn't seem like an actual delivery guy, more like a random Uber driver this place used to deliver me my pizza as cheaply as possible. read more

The pizza here is delicious but the management is terrible. The owner of this establishment (Sahir) does not respect his customers or what they have to say. If you are going to have a disagreement with him he will call you a liar and continuously change his story so it conveniently makes more sense every time he tells it. This was our go to pizza place as it had a lot of variety of things to order besides pizza, offers specials and rewards, and doesn't seem like your chain style pizza. With so many restaurants needing my business I don't think I'll be back. I'll probably go back to Paisanos. I ordered a special add on breadsticks and a 2 liter of soda. The delivery driver left the delivery on my step but no soda. When I asked him he got kind of an attitude and said that he only delivered what he was given. The driver doesn't check his delivery and has no responsibility to deliver what was ordered? I called the restaurant and the manager apologized but indicated that it was far too deliver just the soda. Well, you wouldn't have to deliver just the soda if you didn't forget what I paid for. I think I am done with this place. I ordered a salad and a medium pizza for delivery. The salad greens were brown and stale looking so I called back and told them. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was very nice and offered to send me another salad or give me a credit on my next order. I wanted my salad! 30 minutes later the delivery guy comes back with my salad. I open the new salad dump it into a bowl, again half of the greens were brown. Ok look, If your lettuce has been sitting around long enough for the polyphenols to react with the polyphenoloxidases to the point where the leaf is soggy and brown its time to toss it out, not give it to a customer. Ordered a 5 topping pizza just a few minutes ago for carryout. Asked for parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper. I was handed 1 package of each for an entire large 5 topping pizza. Ordered 5 pizzas including a large pizza with a cauliflower crust. The cauliflower crust was burned. We called Vocellis and were told the cauliflower crust was not burned and that is how cauliflower crust is supposed to be! (Absurd!) The manager refused to give us a refund and was rude. He finally said we could bring the pizza back and he would remake it while we waited. I explained we had a 10 guests for a family birthday party and live 20 minutes away and would bring it back another day. We cut off all the burned parts, served the parts that were edible, and the other 4 traditional pizzas (which were mediocre at best), and took the burned crusts back to Vocellis a couple of days later along with a photo of the pizza, but the manager refused to replace it as previously promised. He said he would only give us 50% off another pizza instead! Won't be back. I'll be honest here, I haven't actually had the pizza, nor have I experienced delivery. I come here for the lunch special and always get an Italian sandwich. I have to admit, $7.99 for a 20oz bottled drink and a fairly huge sandwich is a pretty good deal. I get the sandwich on ciabatta bread and I love it. The bread isn't too chewy, it isn't too crunchy, but it has a little bite to it. The meats and toppings all blend together to make a very tasty sandwich indeed. I will try the pizza eventually, but at the moment I am actually sick of pizza. It looks and smells so good though. They also offer desserts like tiramisu and cannelloni. I am team Vocelli! If you're looking for great pizza with amazing taste at a great price, this is the place. I rediscovered my love for them accidentally. I went to Cava for lunch and on my way out saw a $4.99 special at Paisanos. I walked into Vocelli's and they offered to match. I said ok and gave it a go. Customer service is above and beyond. I got a friendly greet and reassured me that the pizza would be to my liking (I haven't had Vocelli in years!) The pizza was fresh and the pepperoni's has a nice crisp. My family loved it. Today I returned. The $4.99 deal was over, but my family enjoyed the pizza and the customer service was heavenly...it was a no brainer. I ordered the same pizza, 1/2 cheese 1/2 pep. Again, delicious! It's hard to put into words how pleasant it is to talk and give business to Vocelli employees. Very friendly. They informed me of online ordering and gave me complimentary cookies!
