I came here Saturday night and had the arugula and prosciutto salad and the roasted chicken. The salad was delicious (although a smidge more prosciutto wouldn't have been kicked out of bed). The roasted chicken was a little rich, but it was delicious. Service was good. I sat in the front "lounge" area of the restaurant, which was nice, cozy, and seemed like the perfect place for a glass of wine and small bites après ski. I'd definitely come back. Food is fantastic. Service was horrible. We sat down for 20 minutes before we had a drink, other than water. No bread, baking...salad...delicious, no bread, entree comes out, still no bread. We asked about specials, they were sold out. Understandable, Saturday night, however the table next to us...different server ordered THE SPECIAL! I would give four stars for food quality alone, because it is still the best restaurant in WP, not up to the DTR standard, take notice. read more

We had our first dinner in Winter Park here, which was a mistake because nothing else came close to the quality of food or service. Everything, from the waitstaff, to the drinks, to the entrees and to the kids meals, were outstanding. If I had one complaint, and this is pretty minor, it was a bit too hot in there, so we were stripping down to our t-shirts while we ate. Otherwise, a perfect meal! read more

I'd like to rate higher but I can't. We had a reservation for 7pm and were promptly lead to our table. It was a round table in the main dinning room. I asked to be moved to a different table because the table was wedged between a service breakfront and a sideboard for ordering. The host was very gracious and was kind enough to ask us to wait and 3-4 minutes and later present a better placed table. I sensed that they were a bit overwhelmed due to a crowded evening. Service was friendly. A couple of items were sold out but what we ordered was good not great, not hot just warm. Now the real bad, my daughters meal was not brought to the table until most of us were 3/4 of the way through our meals. Now to qualify my rating to some degree. It was our first evening in WP after a long flight delayed trip in, North Easterners still adjusting to altitude who had skied a full day on the mountain. We had only entrees because we were so tired. With all of that out I still think the three stars is correct. I'm committed to trying Volario's again because I think there is a better experience to be had. read more

Absolutely love this place! My husband and I enjoyed a long dinner here last night. We sat up to the bar with Marco and were so entertained watching him craft beautiful cocktails while keeping us company. We started with the bruschetta AMAZING! I had trout with risotto and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his pizza. My trout was to die for and We were so happy when Chef Turner came out to meet us what a talented young man! Every employee from the sweet hostess who welcomed us to Matt the manager went above and beyond to make our evening here memorable. Can't wait to get back up there for another great experience. Very slow service with small flavorless portions. When you pay $25 for gnocchi you'd expect more than 5 pieces

We had a bunch of family come in from LA. They were a bit tired and really hungry after the trip up. Wife and I knew exactly where to take these well traveled folks too. To say the service and food was awesome is an understatement, the tired fell away in moments. The staff treated us all like honored guests. Beverages, delicious bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar perked all up. Then we ate, and ate oh and ate a bit more. I think between the eight of us we probably shared about half the menu. We went a bit family style all enjoying a bit of all of it. Our guests have been to the best and finest in the US, South Amercia and Europe. When I asked their opinion on our local favorite they all put it up in the top tier of places they have been!! Guys, get the Vesuvius Pizzata, really just do that. Andrew was amazing. Great service and excellent recommendations. We had the pork belly, flat iron steak and lasagna. Side dish of Brussel's sprouts. We had a bottle of Villa Antonio red blend. The highlight was the desert. It was a gilatto pie with salted caramel, shaved coco nibs, in house made marshmallows and an amaretto cookie. I really hoped to give this restaurant 5 stars as I had high hopes for this Devil's Thumb sister restaurant. Unfortunately the food did not hit the mark that I expected. We went on Christmas Day night and the staff set up a table for us in the lounge since the dining room was full with reservations. I give the staff 5 stars. Our server, David, who was also the bartender was extremely on the ball. He was attentive, knowledgeable and excited about the menu. He made a killer martini. I give the decor 5 stars - comfy, luxe chairs, dark wood interior. (except there were no Christmas lights or Holiday decorations). The menu was limited due to the holiday. The cheese plate was too small - however the honey and fennel accoutrement was a nice touch. My FIL had the tomato bisque soup which lacked flavor. He remarked that he had better soup out of a box. My arugula salad was very good - the prosciutto was crispy and the flavors were spot on. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly - crispy and savory. The kitchen really lost marks on the entrees. 3 out of 4 entrees were just not good - the Osso Bucco lacked flavor. Again my FIL said it was poorly made pot roast. The meat just didn't stand up on its own. The poultry dish was awful - so small, gamey, and lackluster that I wanted to send it back. The pork ribeye was also lackluster in that the meat had little flavor. My MIL was super pleased with her fish dish - the Branzino was extraordinary - plump, moist, salty and perfectly done. I will try Volario's again when the regular menu is in effect - hopefully I will report a better result. read more

What a gem in downtown Winter Park! Good food in the valley can be hard to find. I was always under the impression that the menu was expensive, so I haven't been in for dinner that often. However, i was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic food creative drinks and great service. Definitely recommended. read more

We had the fresh pasta for dinner and it was delightful. Andrew was our server and he was very attentive. The appetizers were artfully created with the agrodolce sauce a big winner. We really enjoyed our meal at Volario's, a great, and much needed addition, to the Winter Park dining scene. Creative cocktails kicked off the meal, then our waiter Topher expertly guided us through the menu. We chose to sample a few antipasti for the table. All were excellent; the padron peppers, the white bean arugula salad, the vegetable soup - but the burrata caprese was a standout - a deconstructed version of the Italian classic. It was amazing! The entrees were just as impressive - pappardelle pasta with wild mushrooms, gnocchi with lamb sugo, and the porchetta, were not only beautifully presented, but also generous portions. The bar area is my favorite whether you are with family or out for an adult evening. The bartenders and servers make it their job to ensure you feel important and that they customize the experience to meet your needs. Their drinks are all unique and are made through specialized training. The food is incredible. Strange to say it but I actually crave the white bean salad and their vestivio pizza is to die for amongst other dishes. I've been skiing and dining in WP for 25 years and this is the best restaurant to find the town of Winter Park. Their dishes are so fresh and unique. Had a great experience! We sat outside where their patio is situated alongside a nice running creek to create a wonderful ambiance. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned, fresh, balanced flavors, authentic! Arugula salad with dried figs, thinly sliced prosciutto, bright sumac vinaigrette. Fresh greens with red and yellow beets, hazelnuts, goat cheese, and a sweet and tangy carrot jam to go along with their blood orange vinaigrette. Caesar salad had actual anchovies, shaved pecorino, crunchy croutons, and a pop of lemon. Roasted brussel sprouts with fennel and spicy goat horn peppers (like a Italian cherry pepper). Homemade pizza dough, crispy bottom, not soggy, needed a little more red sauce and less cheese but overall delicious. They make homemade pasta also. We ordered everything and shared. It was all amazing. The gnocchi was light a fluffy, rabbit was cooked perfectly, although the soppressata was a little over cooked. The pappardelle was delicate, mushrooms were super flavorful and still had a bite to them rather than being mushy, and the barola butter (red wine infused) brought it all together. The cappellini pasta was really good too. It was served with a poached egg on top that was unfortunately slightly over cooked, so it did not offer that nice runny yolk to coat the pasta with. Still had great flavors going on. The server who also doubled over as the bartender was great. He made nice suggestions of wine pairings and was very attentive and friendly. This is the second year we've stayed at the Vasquez Creek Inn. Volario's is located downstairs. We've eaten here two nights already on this trip, and will eat here tonight as well. Too bad they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We had Andrew as our waiter the first night, and he gave us some excellent suggestions. We loved the arugula salad with prosciutto and fig and the seared blue prawns appetizer. The pappardelle with mushrooms and pine nuts was outstanding and was loaded with meaty mushrooms. The pasta was cooked al dente. My husband had the chicken marsala over pasta. It was delicious and not your typical preparation. The bar is great for appetizers and happy hour. read more

One of the best dining experiences in Winter Park! I have eaten here twice in two months and both times were a wonderful experience. The ambience of the restaurant is very cozy and the wait staff is friendly and diligent. The bartenders are proud of their creative, original cocktails and they are delicious! The Chef does an excellent job with the menu as well. I would recommend the lamb gnocchi although I don't think you can really go wrong with any dish. Finishing the meal with a pistachio gelato is quite a treat too! I will definitely be visiting again soon. read more
