Would not recommend. This airline charged me twice for a musical instrument even though I only needed one musical instrument. When I asked for a refund they offered only a voucher that expires soon. I do not think they understand that they took my money and all i want is for them to return it. Not only that but they have extremely slow airport customer service. read more

If possible, I would have given a zero. First, this is a no frills airline. I signed up for that- know that is not my issue. My issue is that I paid an addition $250 for assigned seating for my family that was not honored. This is important as we are traveling with 4 kids under 10 (6 of us total). I paid 6 months in advance, so there are no surprises. We get to the airport and our assignment was cancelled- seriously? So we ask for a refund- JUNE 3RD. Today is JULY 17th- still no refund after 10 calls. These people are crooks................ Opt for an airline that may cost a bit more but acts ethical. read more

Worst airline ever!! I would never ever fly thru this airline again plus the workers at front desk are nothing but snotty.. Sacramento airport not even my family will ever fly thru them again... Highly say avoid this airline.. Cost is high.. Not good service... read more

I was generous with the 1 star . Volaris made me miss Christmas with my Family on Christmas this year ..they "over-sold" flights and me and my mom didn't fly ...and again Today my brother missed his flight home from Mexico and has to miss work tmrw ..it's really inconvenient . They don't care . read more

This is the worst airlines. Their staff is rude, not helpful. I flew with a handicapped friend, they are not accommodating, no wheelchair availability to board the flight we had to board the plane with 25 steep metal stairs from the tarmack, when I inquired for my friend they say oh well-if she can't get up the stairs she'll need to find another airlines. It only got worse from there. To top it off the flight arrived 45 min lates (missed our connecting flight) and I got off the plane, I received an email from them celebrating the flight arrived on time! (Huh ???) Will never fly this airline again. read more

Worst service ever, flight 970 GDL - SMF, Volaris airlines sent our luggage to Oakland, when we get to Sacramento, we're told by the staff that our luggage will be at the SMF airport the day after and that WE will have to pick it up at the airport, even though it was the airline mistake. I also left my stroller at the airplane door right before I got in the airplane, when i get to SMF and ask for my stroller at the door, I'm ignored Volaris staff. After going through customs they made us fill out a form to claim our luggage and it took over 1.5 hours to get to us. When I asked for my stroller I got ignored again by the staff and even by the supervisor, she was rolling her eyes at me when I asked for an update on my stroller while my wife was holding our 3 month old baby for 1.5 hours at the gate. Jeniffer was the supervisor's name I wasn't given a last name but she is pretty good at giving attitude and ignoring the customers Avoid flying with this airline. if you could fly with Aeromexico, southwest or any other arline do, so don't think it twice read more

If I could give them zero stars I would! Literally the worst screw this airline!! I paid 250 for a fight. Needed to switch it for personal reasons. They told me it would be 200 I looked online and a one way flight cost 140. They basically wanted me to pay two tickets! Insane read more

Worst ticketing staff! A lady that was helping us was being a complete bitch. She was speaking to low and I asked her if she can speak louder so my wife knows where she needs to go or do. The girl got ballistic! She ended up helping others behind us. She only behaved poorly with us. As guest, me and my family got really upset with her and she said that my wife wouldn't be flying out (my wife didnt even said anything). That made things worse and she had us go with someone else and she called her supervisor. The supervisor was more on her side. Anyways, they did a poor job explaining how the luggage system works. P.s I told them I'm willing pay extra!!!! They just made things more complicated. My wife lost expensive perfumes: coco Chanel's, 2 babe, and Victoria secret perfume. My wife traveled with my 3 year old son and she was forced to take a luggage with her on the plane. Anyways worst volaris receptionist ever. read more

Reposting this review as it was deleted by me on accident or the company paid to have it removed. This is what I sent to Volaris Customer service department. WARNING!! DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE. They will steal your money and ask you to pay more. They are rude at all levels of management and have a "we don't care, too bad for you" attitude. Tu Experiencia Volaris es: Complaint Referente a: Airport Nombre: David Apellido paterno: Martin Correo electrónico: martin.****@gmail.com Fecha de vuelo: 10/26/2016 Origen de vuelo: Sacramento Destino de vuelo: San Jose, Costa Rica Código de reservación: E41c5s Teléfono Casa/ Oficina / Celular: 916743**** Colaborador Volaris: Comentario: Printed off my tickets and checked in online 14 hours ahead of time as the confirmation email suggested. They tried to up-sell me on everything which was expected for a no frills airline. When we arrived early and we approached the TSA as we tried to go through security and the lady saw our tickets from afar and said "those typically did not scan". She asked if I had it on an email or on my phone and I did. But neither the printed tickets or the saved PDF would scan. They would not allow us to go through security to our gate. They sent us back down to the ticket counter which I passed on the way in because I had already printed tickets like suggested on the email. When we got back down there there was nobody there at the ticket booth. We went back up to security only to find out the lady had gone up to the gate right before us and the gate had now closed and we had missed our flight. We went downstairs again to talk to someone who could help us and found someone from Volaris that called her manager to come help us. She NEVER showed up even after 1 1/2 hours of waiting. I called their customer service line and requested a call back and never got a call back. I called again and waited for the next available customer service rep but it ended up hanging up on me. I finally went to their abandoned counter and found their local office number and called. The supervisor took her time coming out to tell us we had to purchase new tickets because we missed our flight and there was nothing else she could do. I'm out $1200 for flight tickets and mine and my wife's vacation. I would like my money back or voucher to fly to my intended location. We ha saved time and money for this trip and it's not my fault your online boarding tickets do not work with TSA. I was there on time. Your tickets did not work. ****Update, after many hours on the phone they blamed TSA for the tickets not scanning. We spent countless hours for several days on the phone and every singe person with Volaris was unhelpful and most were downright rude. They still have refused to give us a travel voucher for our tickets or refund our money. They said we were not there early enough for a international flight but we were on time to be at the gate 1 hour before our flight was scheduled to leave. The only reason we could not get to the gate was because Volaris tickets printed from my computer and the back up PDF I had saved on my phone would not scan at TSA. This was a known issue. TSA knew it would not likely scan even as I approached the check line. When we spoke with the manager later that night she rudely admitted this was a known issue. I received no warning they would not work and did exactly as instructed. I want my money back. I even offered to take a later flight the next day (which was not full) and the refused to resolve it that way and said I could purchase two more full price tickets. They didn't even offer a discounted price. For days I tried to get them to even give me a voucher to fly another time to resolve the issue and they have maintained it was not their fault that the tickets do not scan at TSA and therefore it was not their responsibility to resolve it with us and we needed to take it up with TSA. read more

Worst!! Had a family member go as an emergency I repeat an emergency to Guadalajara. Sadly everything went bad, but when he had already reserve his flight to come back home. This so call airline refuse to have him come home and what's worst he was unable to get a refund on his ticket so he could take another airline to come back to us. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! Wouldn't recommend this airline at all! They damn near charge you for a cup of water, have terrible service and on top of that they sell extra flights and leave people without seats only to be left with no other option than to take another flight on another day....or get your money back and not go. What crap is that?? Wouldn't it be logic to have a guaranteed seat for a plane ticket you pay for!!?? All they want is $$ and it's not okay! You're paying a flight for that day AND A SEAT! Would definitely not recommend it! read more

Volaris has no clue of customer service. Did what there policies requires and still no refund was returned. Volaris reason was because it was an international fight. The cancelation was within 24 period. Customer service was more worried about they getting fired. Other airlines offer cancelation fees Volaris should learn from the other airlines. Customer service was rude and they need to be trained. I will not be flying Valoris and I sure will be telling other people and will continue to post this on social media. read more

This airline is WORST!! I was supposed to fly out this evening to home ( DC ) from ES and the flight I was supposed to get on was delayed and cancelled due to the airline giving that plane to the flight that was before mine. Now they're stating they do not fly out to DC on Tuesdays. WTH. Are you serious?? What kind of airline is this that can not accommodate their passengers. This will be the last time I fly with them. Spent my whole trip without luggage thanks to Volaris. I re-checked my luggage in at Guadalajara for the 2nd leg of my flight after going through customs. When I got to my destination they accused me of abandoning my baggage and refused to send it through for 2 days (even though my companion's luggage was checked at the same time, and came through with no problem). When they finally sent and released the luggage back to me, it was time to fly home. When I asked for some kind of relief for the trouble of losing the luggage, like priority boarding, the agent left to go check and when he disappeared and another staffer finally came back to me 30 minutes later, he notified me that they had downgraded our flight from a large jet to a smaller plane, so they were probably going to have to bump us from the flight. Awful customer service and really disorganized. read more

I traveled with this airline 2 weeks ago and for being mid September, the flight was full. I could tell why, the price for a round trip ticket was amazingly chea! I added the carry on at the time of purchase and compared to other airlines like allegiant, where the carry ons are over $20, I only paid $9! And I'm glad I did so because at the airport they were charging $30 for the carry on and A LOT of customers were complaining. I actually felt bad for the workers dealing with all those customers that were arguing about having to pay when online it clearly tells you there is a charge for a carry on. Overall I had a good experience and I fell asleep the whole plane ride to Mexico. I didn't have the same experience in Guadalajara, it was crowded and less organize, but overall Sacramento made up for it and I really enjoyed their service. read more

If I could this airline a 0 I would. Honestly pay the extra $50 for another airline. My family travels often to Guadalajara this is the worst airline. Never again we used it once and gave it another shot a second time. Just use a different airline. read more

This is THE WORST airline I have ever used. Specifically the one one out of Sacramento International Airport. My little 87 year old dad recently returned from visiting family in Mexico. The night he returned he could not find his luggage. They sent him on a wild goose chase. No one would help him or make a report. The very next day we went back to the airport and were lucky to find an employee there. This woman's name is Carolina. She listened to what we had to say, spoke to a coworker on the phone who said he remembered my dad. This woman said she would help us. That they would reimburse him for his lost luggage. What a joke that was! Long story short she is now saying we are liars. That my dad left the airport with his luggage and then ce back days later claiming he didn't get it. Yes, they're prices are cheap but their customer service sucks! Especially Carolina at the Sacramento airport!!! So not worth saving a few bucks! read more

Volaris was fine. We had to rebook our Mexico vacation due to hurricane in Cabo and we didnt have much choices. With some trepidation we booked on Volaris from SMF to Cancun via GDL. The layover was killer 5 hours going and 3 returning but again we booked at last minute. Educating ourselves on how they run was key. We prepurchased our seat selections - exit row all the way there and back for $10/each on each leg. We packed only light carryons and chose not to check any bags. The carry on fee was $30 at the gate. The staff in SMF just gave us the special tags and didnt charge us so we wouldnt be bothered in GDL I guess. We got no service, but we didnt expect any. It was a red eye anyway. On the trip home we made a tactical error and got in the check in line and the guy charged me $30 for my bag that was 2" too tall. I saw others just go up to the gate and not be challenged. Some however were, so be prepared to pay the fee unless you only have a backpack, purse or laptop bag. All in all it was fine and we dont speak spanish. read more

If I could give a zero star I would. This place sucks. I tried to speak to a representative and all they did was put me on hold. After a while, somebody finally picked up To tell me some information that had been given wrong to me. It's so frustrating. And they didn't even apologize about it. They were so rude. This will be my last time using this airline. read more

Very deceptive web site regarding checked baggage fees. It is impossible to know whether the first checked bag is free or charged for. Shady, slimy business practices like this lead me to cancel my reservation and look elsewhere for that flight and one other I need to book. They have been fined already for their behavior but hey continue to rip us off. read more

The Good: they're cheap. The base ticket price is a bargain. The Bad: they're cheap, so they fill up fast. Very few empty seats so if you decide/need to change a flight, you are in for a real bad experience. The Ugly: Knowing the Bad (well, not the bad experience part) I opted to pay an extra $22 for a "flex" plan in case I needed to change flights. I did so about three days in advance I tried to extend my stay for a couple of days. The day I wanted to change to (Wed) they don't fly. Ok, so I tried for a day earlier. No seats. Ok, so I tried for a day later than my original date. No seats. The Uglier: when you want any type of preferential seat assignment, it's extra. If you want something from the beverage cart, it's extra. Oversize carry-ons are extra...but this is probably logical and other airlines do the same. If you're flying international you will need to fill out a customs declaration card. The ones on the plane are written in Spanish. No biggie if you read/write Spanish. Since I don't I asked the flight attendant if I could get one in English. She said she would get one. A half hour later she was passing by and reminded her. She said she would get one. Another half hour later I asked again. Finally the guy sitting across the aisle from me took pity and offered to help. With his translation I got the form filled out. All in all, if you're on a strict budget, this is the way to go. Just be prepared to not deviate from their standard offering because once you do, it will cost you dearly. read more

This airlines deserves less than a zero if this was at all possible! On April 1st 2017 I flew out of Sacramento to Guadalajara; the ticket counter at Sacramento airport was supposed to open by 9:30 p.m. ( on ticket you are to arrive at airport three hours before departure) with a 12: 45 a.m. flight. By 9:30 p.m. there was nobody at the ticket counter and nearly 100 people standing in line; FINALLY, at 10:00 p.m. three service agents casually stroll to the counter and take their time signing in; I was fifth in line and mad as hell at this time! Then, once their opened, they started forming another line beside ours and starting taking customers who just got there. When I got to the desk I asked what the delay was for; their response " Because" had I not had to go to Guadalajara, I would have left then and there. On April 6th when returning back to Sacramento while on the plane, I asked one of the rudest flight attendants for an "American U.S. Document' as I could not read Spanish; she tossed it at me and then stormed back to her service area; the last straw came when they were passing out drinks; when it came to my turn, she would not ask if I wanted anything; by passed me and finally another flight attendant came by to ask if I needed anything! I am a frequent flyer and never in my life have I encountered such a lousy airline. For the cost I paid, I should have flown a major carrier such as Delta; American; or United! read more

Beware when dealing with this very slimy airline. By paying a premium service fee they claim to allow you to make changes to your itinerary without incurring a change fee. What they don't tell you is that the ticket prices for people making changes is much higher than the rate schedule they use if you are buying the ticket for the first time either through the call center or online. For example, if you look online and see a ticket for a flight from Guadalajara to San Francisco priced at $150, and you go to change your existing ticket to this new one, you will find that the pricing for those people who have an existing ticket and want to change their itinerary is $250, not the $150 posted on the website. They use a different price schedule! So no, there's no "change fee", but the ticket prices are substantially higher for people who want to make changes. They just don't call it a change fee. I am so happy we have a consumer protection agency in the United States. Companies in the USA would never get away with such deceitful practices. read more

I would have gave a Zero star to Volaris. I made a reservation on 12-9 -16 to travel on 12-23-16. Paid with creditcard got a sucessful confirmation, once i arrived at the Airport in Sacramento and waited in a line for a hour half the ticket agent pulled me aside with my confirmation number and showed me a computer screen saying my ticket was never Paid. I told her i checked before i travelled and everything was ok. My original ticket purchase was $1488 . The agent then went to tell me i could purchase another ticket, but i would have to wait 45 minutes to see if someone would not show up because the flight was full. She also said i could try AeroMexico to see if they had any available flights. I waited since my ride had already left and planned to spend Christmas with my elderly Mother. And attend my Fathers 8th year anniversary mass of his passing. I was very upset Volaris probably oversold the flight cancelled my ticket and made No attempt to make it right. They were not trying to helo at all. Only offering bew tickets to fly on 12-25 almost midnight. So that would mean i missed christmas and my dads anniversary mass which was on 12-25-16. I had to taje a taxi back home to American Canyon ca. Which cost $110. I was unable to make new reservation til the follliwing day on 12-24-16. The flight that was available was $1908.thats $420 difference for a mistake Volaris made. I tried speaking with supervisor and explaining the situation from the night before and explaing my concern with how i was treated. And now having to pay $420 more to travel they put me on hold for approximately ten minutes. When the agent came back on the phone he said that Volaris had cancelled the reservation because there was another traveller with the same name as myhusbund.( Pedro Gonzalez) which is ridiculous because it is a very common name. And i explained that what if it was father and son travelling ? That was still Volaris who made the mitake to cancel my flight. Volaris did not try to make it right. Not even offer same airfare as first one i purchased $1488. They were very short and mentioned they could do nothing about airfare. Unreal this ruined My Christmas!!!!!!! Abd to top it off they did not care to accept responsibility. I checked wuth credit card company once i got home again on 12-24-16 before making bew reservation abd Yes Volaris had taken the airfare if $1488. And tried to say they didnt. And making an excuse about the travellers with same name. This is how a consumer is treated as a second class citizen with no respect or dignity. To make matters worst once i paid for a bew ticket and returned from my vacation i called the air line to explain agaun the situation and ask fir a refund for the extra $420.. Extra i had to pay to travel 2 dats later. They opened up a case# 4685. This was on 1-10-17 spoke to customer service representative Mr. Stanley Sigaran. Which has called me back twice tellung me there is still no response on my case. The first confirmation # E2WIMY for 12-23-16 for $1488.73. The second confirmation # is S63NVS for 12-25-16 for $1908.26. I am asking for someone to contact me back a.s.a.p. and respond to my request of my $420 refund for price difference. I will do what i need to get answers. I will contact My News channel if i get no resolution. read more

My husband and I received horrible customer service from Volaris! His flight was set to leave at 11:45pm so we arrived a few hrs ahead. When he approached the Volaris area to check in his luggage the lady told him that the flight was full and that there was no more room on the plane for him! Carolina the Volaris representative was extremely rude condescending and very unprofessional. She had a horrible attitude and Carolina and the security guard then laughed at my husband when she told my husband that there was no more room on the plane! We asked them how can it be full if we paid for our ticket weeks ago. They said the plane that was sent had only 179 seats rather than 180?! I knew she was lying because shortly after she allowed another 3 passengers on the plane!!!! I felt as if they were mocking us and discriminating! I then asked for a number to Volaris where I can call and speak to someone and she said she didn't have any phone numbers to give me. I found that to be odd?! How do you not know the number for Volaris customer service! Carolina was a horrible representative for Volaris. She also identified herself as the manager!? Mangers should be professional and represent the company in a positive way and she most definitely failed to do that!!She kept rolling her eyes and saying "There's nothing I can do for you!" My family and I have been traveling with Volaris for many years but I can honestly say we were extremely disappointed with their customer service and to lie to us just made things worse. I truly thought Volaris vision is to go above and beyond and to create the best travel experience but in our case we were treated like garbage by Carolina. The ppl they have working at the Sacramento kiosk for Volaris are a huge disappoint to what Volaris mission stands for! I really hope something is done about this horrible customer service. It's not fair and the way we were treated was disgusting and uncalled for. I don't even know why I'm giving them one star! read more
