I really wish I could recommend this restaurant. We were anxiously waiting through delay after delay for them to open because we were excited to try it. After our experience at lunch, they probably should've stayed close for a few more weeks to get things worked out. Our waitress wanted to be anywhere but the restaurant and anytime we asked for anything she seemed completely put out to have to go and get it. One manager turned our stove top down so the food didn't cook, then another turned it up too hot and the food burned. Soy sauce was served in a dipping dish, had fun pouring that on our food! The side dishes were meager to say the least. The two meat dishes we ordered that had seasoning need a considerable amount of salt and pepper to give them flavor. The decor was hip and cool lived that the food just didn't meet it. Amarillo needs more restaurants we certainly hope this one can turn things around it would be a nice addition. read more

Amazing KBBQ and in Amarillo?! I've eaten at many KBBQ grills in Houston, Dallas and Austin and I will say Volcanoes can hold its own against some of the better ones. Staff was all very friendly and attentive and out of the 6 or 7 different meats I tried they all had amazing flavor. Spicy bulgogi and chicken are SPICY and oh so good. The sides like the pickled radish, cucumber and mashed potatoes are all excellent. Glad to see Amarillo finally getting variety. 10/10 would recommend read more

We absolutely loved this place! The angel roll was my personal favorite and the fire volcano roll was also very tasty! We loved the gyoza. Of all the meats we tried, the Cajun shrimp and the beef bulgogi, were outstanding. We liked cooking the pineapple and eating it with the various meats. It was a little pricy but well worth it. If you are new to KBBQ, then this place is ok. I was excited because I'm always wanting to fulfill my craving for KBBQ when I'm not traveling. They made up the place nicely and the seating space was great. In terms of AYCE, it depends on when the waiter actually gets around to the table. They are missing the doorbell system that many spots have. They were also missing a lot of other banchan that comes with this style of restaurant. The cuts were decent but the Korean Fried Chicken.... was just reheated popcorn chicken with some weird sauce. I hate to trash this place, but again, if you are brand new to the concept of KBBQ, this place is decent at best. I still recommend anyone to try it if you've never had it before and to support local spots. read more

Update review. After coming here for half a dozen times we noticed that the dinning room is noticeably emptier. They effectively raised their dinner prices by no longer offering one complimentary domestic beer. This means they are no longer priced competitively with larger city KBBQs. And the news of their offering of AYCE sushi is bad news. Means their current business model is not sustainable. Sushi is mostly rice. If they offer sashimi it would be a completely different story. Volcano was already far from the traditional KBBQ. They removed even more standard offerings. Not sure what the future holds for this establishment. read more

Ok I've never been to a Korean bbq before, so I'm posting as a newbie. It's a little intimidating at first, the menu has a lot going on with 8-10 different meats, and 8-10 vegetables plus sides, plus decent sushi etc. The kimchi, pickled radish and cucumber sides are great. The first thing to know is that it's flat rate pricing, all you can eat, per person, so if you pick bulgogi beef and don't like it, you can get something else. The table has a ~ 18" griddle in the middle, sunken about 2", which is your cook surface. The middle is hotter than the edges, so position your food accordingly. It's got a very effective vent over the table so you don't smell like Korean bbq when you leave. The servers, (I think ours was named Maria) are very knowledgeable and they can actually cook your food at the table, but once we got the hang of it, we had a lot more fun switching cooking duties between the three of us. It's all you can eat for a flat rate and includes a drink, I think it's a two hour limit. They have different rates/ selections for lunch and dinner and it looks like lunch is only a weekday offer. We are definitely coming back next time we are in Amarillo. read more

Great service, we were attended by a hispanice lady that was really attentive to us. Couldn't have asked for a better service, although it was really hard for us to hear each other since it was a bit loud in there. The music they played was K-pop and it was really catchy and made the meal enjoyable. The ambiance of the place was really cool. The food was amazing. The Korean food and meats was very good and tasty, I like how the shrimp was already peeled and the meats was very tasty, the sushi not too good, the nori wrap was a little chewy for me but other then that food was awesome. What a fantastic experience, the wait was worth it! We had a group of 13 and they were able to seat us together. The meat was very high quality, especially the steak, which were actual cuts of meat and that's certainly not something I am used to at a place like this. The staff was beyond nice and attentive, and they already were so good at what they were doing despite it being the first day of their soft launch. The price is absolutely appropriate for the quality of food and service you will receive. Their room in the back, which seats 14 to 16 people, was super nice. Love the new menu to include all you can eat sushi. You should never leave hungry. The service is quick and it is very easy to cook everything to have hot delicious food. I have been there two times, September and November while visiting Amarillo and I look forward to going back on my next visit. However the steak was extremely tough had dinner about an hour ago and I think I am almost done chewing. The price might be off putting but it is an all you can eat. That includes sushi, apps, meats, and veggies, so its a good deal if you eat alot! A friend and I decided to try the Volcano Korean BBQ. Oh boy! I was so impressed! Simon was our server. He was very professional , engaged in conversation when we ask questions, was extremely attentive, and didn't demonstrated how to cook the food in the center of the table. My friend and I both thought this was a very unique restaurant, so unique to cook your own food in the middle of the table, and everything was fresh and healthy. We like like to stay on the clean side of eating with low carbs, and this meal was absolutely delicious. This was an all you can eat for $20. I will certainly come back here and bring my family. Nicole was our server, didn't really check on my husband and I for our first visit or explain anything or help us at all at the table. As my husband and I watched other servers go above and beyond while Nicole did the bare minimum. Our food was good. Sliced pork and sliced beef had no flavor. Had to call another server Casey over, who continued to check on us and make sure everything was perfect for our first time there. Would highly recommend coming back to Casey as a server. Nicole, not so much.... She just seemed annoyed the whole time, and I get it I'm a server as well but you have to treat every table the same way and can't play favorites.
