Clair was so communicative with me over the past week and her and Norm made sure I had the absolute proper accommodations considering I'm a full-time commuting student from Pasadena to USC. The communication, understanding nature, and overall friendliness blew me away. I brought back my rental car today in exchange for my own vehicle and Norm was SO helpful and friendly! My mother in law needed to replace her expiring Tiguan lease, and wanted another one. After attempting to deal with another dealership much closer to us, I ended up receiving an email from this dealer because of an inquiry I made on TrueCar (I was just doing research on the car, but they sent my info to the dealer). So, I tried my luck and made a lowball but not completely outrageous counter offer to the initial one they sent me. They respectfully declined, but minutes later sent a counter offer not too far off from what I had asked from them. Done deal. That was Wednesday. The car was a dealer transfer, and we wanted to pick up on Saturday anyway to avoid week time rush (coming from the westside to the eastside). No problem. Got to the dealer and was paired up with a salesman to help us look at the vehicle and finalize everything. Next we went to financing, which was quick, easy and smooth. When we were done the salesman had already prepped all the paperwork for my Mother in Law's lease return. Then, he went over the features of her new, and we were on our way. We got there at 12pm and were driving home by 2pm. Quick and simple. No time wasted. Worth the trip from the westside, and not having to play games other dealers were trying to play. They do not care about your safety or customer service. It's funny my first review got deleted. Terrible customer service with regards to repairs. I want to love my 2016 GLI lease and keep it when the lease runs out but after this experience and Volkswagens blatant disregard for customer safety and service that won't be happening. My check engine light and airbag light went on randomly while driving on the highway as well as the entire electrical system in my steering column went out meaning NO HORN. This is extremely dangerous living in a big city. And an airbag light means the airbag isn't working properly and regardless of it's an issue with the sensor or something "larger" it's not a trivial issue when it comes to an airbag! This Volkswagen dealer didn't seem to agree. The "part" that was needed to fix this airbag and electrical issue wasn't going to be ready for two weeks. I asked what loaner car they would be giving me to which the woman sounded appalled. She said they don't give loaners for something like this. After arguing my safety comes first she "spoke" with her manager and they agreed to give me a loaner. When I went to pick the loaner car up that day I thanked her and her response was, "people like you generally calm down when they get their way." This prompted me to call VW headquarters. That was a joke in itself. Though the rep who took my call was extremely friendly he was clearly reading from a script and not willing to understand my true concern and reason for calling. I was never contacted back by VW or the dealer. This is unacceptable. I will not be keeping my lease. Who wants to deal with the headache of rude customer service and worrying about your safety? read more

I get my Golf serviced here and they are ultra professional and knowledgeable about my car. The waiting area is great because it has wifi, free coffee and tv. Recently I got work done here and was helped by Norm. He probably knows more about VWs than anyone in the business. Got me in and out in and hour and a half with my car running perfectly and clean. Wow. Seriously impressed by how EASY and smooth it was getting service done here. They are true professionals and so kind. I am used to Santa Monica VW and I cant even explain how shocked I was at the level of service I received at the Pasadena VW versus what I was used to getting (no offense Santa Monica but you guys could step it up). Norman was the guy who helped me and he was very kind and knowledgeable from the start. They have kiosks set up for you to check in and then go inside and they have all your info pulled up. Afterwards they get you a FREE UBER within 10 MILES that picks you up right away. Other places have some sort of shuttle every 15 or 30 min or you have to hope a nice salesperson gives you a ride. They texted me when the car was ready with another Uber code to get back to the dealership. They even WASH and VACUUM your car for you like the good ol days. Santa Monica VW didn't do that for the longest time bc of the drought supposedly and then after the drought they only did it for me once and that was only if I promised to do a survey for them or something. Norman from Pasadena never even mentioned me having to do anything in exchange for the car wash. When I picked up my car it was ready to go, no waiting at the cashier. Everything was so SMOOTH and EASY and CONVENIENT. Sorry for the caps but just doing that in case ppl don't have time to read the whole review. I am in awe of how great of an experience that was. Amazing. Thank you norm and Pasadena VW!! You've made doing errands a pleasant activity instead of a burdensome chore that I try to avoid. I worked with Jamal and he got us into a 2017 Jetta.. which we thought was impossible. He even spoke with Volkswagen to plead our case and get us what we needed, I couldn't believe what great service we received. We had a Golf that we leased on the east coast. When we moved to California, the DMV taxed us on our lease payment.. which by the way ended up being almost $500 per month by the time they were done with us at the DMV. Corporate VW couldn't do anything, as tax laws are tax laws. (Moral of the story - do not bring a leased car to California.) We tried to make it work. The car was only a few months old. By the time we had the car about 18 months, the payments were unbearable so we went to Pasadena to see about getting out of this lease that was so upside down.. and not up for another 2 years. We told Jamal we'd take anything. A used car. Any color. Any model. Any miles. We just needed out. He ended up getting us into a brand new 2017 Jetta for half of what we were paying, even with all of this negative equity. He let me pick a color from a line of cars. He went so above and beyond his duties to make sure we were able to keep a car we love, at a payment we could afford. I was so relieved - tearing up and hugging him when he gave us the keys to the Jetta. Dramatic I know, but the old payment was giving us so much grief. TLDR; Jamal is amazing. Very smooth purchasing process at Volkswagen Pasadena. Spoke to Kevin at 2pm over the phone and agreed on an estimated price based on Truecar.com's quote. Arrived around 5pm at the dealership and greeted by Kevin who introduced me to Arsalan, who later helped us walk through the entire process. We did a test drive around the block and went back inside. He was very courteous, polite and professional. I gave him my Truecar print out and started the purchasing process. There was no mark up or BS "protection package" fees that was not part of the quote like the other Volkswagen dealership. By 6pm, we were already signing the paperworks. After having a bad experience at another dealership my mom said let's try the dealership in Pasadena. I felt very uneasy about going to another dealership after my previous experience and wasn't sure I was ready to buy a car. I gave in and off we went to Pasadena. I told her we are just looking cause I was so uneasy. We walked in and immediately greeted my a nice gentleman who asked what we are looking for. I told him the Atlas Cross Sport in drake grey or black. He was upfront about only having a black one and asked if I was ok with that. I said yes and he said ok let's go out and take a look. My mom excused herself to the ladies room on the way out and he asked if I wanted to wait for her. I said it was fine we could go and explainee that the car was for me and I was purchasing it alone. He said ok and we continued chatting and he introduced himself to me (Ramiro Johnston) and asked my name. We chatted about the features of the car and how it was a big change going from my VW CC to this car. I told him how nervous I was but loved the look of the Atlas Cross Sport so much. After looking at the car and my mom joining us he asked if I wanted to drive the car. I said sure and he got my information and off we went. I was so excited and in love with the car. Ramiro chatted with me while I drove the car and made sure he was also engaging my mom in conversation. When we got back to the dealership he asked me what I thought and I said I love it and asked where do I sign to take it home with with me. We went back inside for what I thought was going to be a painful process filled with paperwork but it was so simple. I bought my last VW from this Sierra Madre dealership. I stopped servicing my car at this location past couple yrs because the accountability and customer facing always fell short. However, I went for a repair this week that really impressed me and changed my point of view. Norman H. helped with my vehicle. I'd been having issues with my engine for 6 months and no one I spoke to could ever diagnose the root issue. He was extremely knowledgeable, and able to restore my engine to its former glory. He was extremely prompt, detailed (he explained the parts, showed me pics, gave me recommendations) and made me felt like the repair cost was well spent . He gave me the best VW experience I've had in the past 10 years, and redeems VW service for me! It was frustrating & disappointing to me that a brand new car had so many problems. However; Norman in the service department made things so easy for me. He was so understanding & helpful. I bought my 2008 EOS used in July of 2017. It was an old car with high mileage so I was nervous it would give me all kinds of problems, and if it had I wouldn't have been surprised. To my delight it gave me no problems for a whole year and just passed 100k miles. I was so pleased with the car that I decided to take it into a dealer to pamper it a little and take care of any routine maintenance it may need as I was now optimistic that the car could last me many years to come. I brought the car in to this dealership and had a very pleasant experience with Claire. As the maintenance record of the car was incomplete it wasn't entirely clear what needed to be done. I decided as a precaution to change the transmission fluid. It was also recommended to me to flush and change the coolant system. I did these two things (for $700) and went on my way. Within one week the service engine light came on. I brought my car back to the dealer and this time had the unfortunate luck of being "helped" by Norman. Very unhelpful. He begrudgingly ran the DTC codes, and it turned out there was an issue with the cooling system. When I pointed out that I had had no issues for a year and one week after I had the cooling system flushed, I was told there was no correlation and that I would have to pay $140 to diagnose the problem. I left, deciding I did not want to give these guys any more money. As the car was running fine I left it alone, until I had to get my car smog checked which requires the service engine light to be off. I brought it back thinking maybe I would get a better service advisor. Nope... Norman again, rude and arrogant as ever. I had them run the diagnositics hoping they would admit they had caused the fault. I was told the thermostat was no longer regulating the engine temperature and would need replaced. When I pointed out that it was regulating the temperature just fine before I brought my car in, I was told there was no way they caused the problem. I promptly took my car and drove it to another mechanic, who explained how flushing the cooling system can stress an already older thermostat and who changed it for less than half of what the dealer was quoting. I would save yourself the trouble and avoid this dealer altogether. If you do make the mistake of taking your car here, absolutely avoid Norman. One last thing... they were very adamant about me filling out their survey after my first visit, when I left content. They never sent me a survey after my other two visits. He was very knowledgeable about the car itself too, and guided me on setting up the Electrify America app and other useful apps. No attempt to up-sell. The price was a close match to the lowest I could get in LA, and they had the exact model I wanted. (I'd still encourage everyone to shop around, there are tons of VW dealers in LA) I paid cash & had no trade-in, which likely made it easier, but I still felt it was a smoother process than most dealers. 15 minutes on day one to leave a deposit & get it marked as 'sold', less than an hour on day two to sign the papers and leave with the car. Everyone here is like "this place is awesome" and they are right! But the one factor that attracted me to VW Pasadena was the fact that they do not add dealer accessories and they do not mark up their vehicles. I drove away in a 2022 Golf GTI SE tonight, one of 3 manual's I found in my 70 mile radius. The other 2 had been marked up significantly. As soon as Arsolon told me they don't do dealer accessories or markups, we made them our first and last stop. Product specialist John was also very helpful and every step was very much low-pressure and easy. Quick not so much lol expect to spend 4 hours there when the showroom is dead.
