I purchased a 2016 BMW 228i Convertible a few weeks ago and drove it directly home after taking delivery. Two days ago, when I attempted to drive the vehicle, it was completely dead and would not start. I contacted AAA, and after testing the battery, their technician informed me that the battery required immediate replacement because it was operating at only 33% of its original holding capacity. I reached out to my salesperson, Jimmy, to discuss the issue but have not received a response. At this point, I can only assume that the dealership does not intend to assist with the battery replacement. While I understand that used vehicles are sold with varying levels of wear, I believe it is reasonable to expect a vehicle to start and operate properly shortly after purchase. In my opinion, replacing a battery that fails almost immediately after delivery would be a gesture of good customer service and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction. Selling a vehicle that becomes inoperable due to a severely degraded battery shortly after purchase creates a disappointing ownership experience and reflects poorly on the overall customer experience. I am in total shock. This dealership no longer answers their phones. I tried calling the service department for a water tube leak above the accelerator of my one year-old XC 90. Water is dripping down on my foot and I understand from an online search that they can short out the electrical signals that caused your car to be able to accelerate. Fine. So I called the dealership. Not a single person answered any of the phones. I tried for over an hour. I even tried calling the sales department because they're usually hungry for a sale. Nothing. When you press the option of 1,2, or 3... there is strictly silence. I've gotten Volvo here for over 25 years and in the last two years this dealership has really gone downhill. I think they must've gotten rid of all their employees who once answered the phones. Just terrible. I will have to drive all the way over to their shop tomorrow which I could've avoided if I could've made an appointment online or gotten them on the phone. Ugh. read more

They finally admitted fault, verbally, and blamed it on a technician from out of town. Beware when leaving a car or turning in your lease here! I've purchased at least 4 cars here. I just bought my last car in December when I got a call from Volvo Finance, asking me to pay for missed parts in my car??? I looked at the pictures of the vehicle inspection report and there was a panel from my bumper (that covers a spot to tow your car) was missing??? Apparently, the employees of the dealership steal pieces off your car and then have you pay for it through the least return inspection. I reached out to the general manager who took no responsibility for it. In other words; too bad so sad! I used to work at a dealership so I know that when you leave a vehicle there. For any reason, there is always a visual inspection and notation of any major issues sighted. Even the sales person said they didnt notice it, im pretty sure anyone would have seen a 10 inch gap! Crazy! The last time my car got serviced in my old car, they lost my car keys and keychain. They gave me some leftover beat up key instead of a new one, but I didn't make any complaint. One of the worst dealership experiences I've had--and I hope management takes this seriously. My interaction started off pleasant, but quickly shifted into high-pressure and aggressive communication via text before I even arrived at the dealership. That should have been a red flag. Once in-store, things only got worse. I was rushed through signing a lease and wasn't even properly shown the vehicle until after everything was completed. I was then sent out without a full walkthrough--no real explanation of features, not even how to operate the car. When I raised concerns immediately, I was told "you've already signed," "you'll get used to it," and even advised to go to another Volvo dealership to learn how to use the tech heavy vehicle. Within minutes of leaving, I realized the car was not a fit and began contacting the dealership right away. I called multiple times and followed up throughout the evening and into the night . I was finally in touch with GM Adrian Romero within ~14 hours of signing a lease --before any payment had been collected. When I explained the situation, I was initially told nothing could be done because the deal was "completed" and payment had already been processed. That was incorrect--no payment had been taken. After I pointed that out and provided authorization when requested, I was told that since payment had not been processed that "changes things" and that they would work with me on getting into an alternate vehicle. Which I was pleased to hear! In good faith I thought I would unwind the deal and still purchase another vehicle through them. So I then helped the GM by identifying another vehicle on their lot and followed up with a link to that vehicle- but no response. Instead, shortly after, I received a notification that they were attempting to process my payment--the very thing I had been told would make the deal irreversible! Instead of trying to find an alternate vehicle for me it seems he was trying to rush to charge my card to finalize the deal! This experience has been disorganized, inconsistent, and dismissive from start to finish. I made repeated attempts to resolve this immediately and in good faith--before any funds were taken--and was met with poor communication and shifting explanations. I am still seeking a reasonable resolution and would like to be placed into a more suitable vehicle without penalty. I would welcome a prompt response from management. Until then, I cannot recommend doing business here. I will update this review based on how this is handled. read more

Reached out to lease a Volvo and was quoted some ridiculous monthly rate that was double what other dealers were providing. Adimika Rachell was the person I was working with. She stated there were 6500 in rebates and that they're "heavily discounting" the vehicle to get me that rate. The problem is that the car qualifies for EV rebate of 7500 so that alone is already more than the 6500 in credits she mentioned. All in, the car has over $12k in rebates and cash. She either had no clue how to structure the deal or was trying to be shady and use the credits as the "dealer discount". Either way, it was a very unpleasant experience dealing with her. It's a shame Rusnak doesn't employ more knowledgeable sales people. If you're looking to get a good deal, look elsewhere. This dealer is not the place for good deals. read more

Rusnak has the appearance of a premium brand and customer experience. This perception misleading and the reputation is very inconsistent with my experience. In my first experience they were unable to identify the issue with a check engine light. They would make minor tweaks and send me off claiming it was fixed. 3 or 4 visits later, with much of my time wasted, they eventually found and addressed the issue. Most recently I was charged $1k for a minor service which took 5 hours. They texted at 3:30 that my car was ready but because I couldn't get there by 5 they kept it all weekend. I spent 3 days with no vehicle and spent $1k for an oil change. Save your time, money and sanity and work with a different dealer. read more

Third time be here after leasing my xc40 for a year. The main battery failed after 2 months drive, it stopped at my work's parking lot. Waited two hours for tow truck to dealer fixing the car and getting my loaner. And three more months later service light was on but nothing wrong with the car...another trip for reset only. Today is software issue, so wired no sounds for everything of the car even turning signal. They don't offer me a loaner for same day service. Uber provided is 10 miles limit. Since my work is 11 miles away, I have to get a ride to pick up my car or wait 2 hours here. That is all the manufacturers issue!!! There's lots of incentives right now. $7,500 from manufacturer. $2,500 from Costco. Alex was a nice sales person and we liked Mike in finance. I have electric range stress though. I don't want to have to deal with stopping after 226 some odd miles and finding a charging station for thirty minutes. It does have 402 horsepower which my husband loved. Another thing I didn't care for was the moon roof because it does not come with a sun shade. That would definitely need a good solar tint. I think Volvo needs to work on the range, but the fit and finish is nice. We did not purchase this vehicle because we are still investigating other options. read more

I have owned my Volvo for over a decade and used to have it serviced at the dealer when they were located in East Pasadena, but when they moved to the Old Pasadena location I was concerned the service would worsen as they were now the least expensive cars in a complex serving Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maserati, and Porsche, and began using an independent mechanic. Turns out I was correct. When I took my car in for a recall repair, I was told I could get a ride home while I waited, but I had to find my own ride back to pick up the car. That was not the case at the old location. I figured, times change. Whatever. Then when I asked for where to pick up the ride, I was told I needed to meet the driver on Colorado Blvd, but I was not allowed to walk through the other showrooms, instead down the alley that connects the service department to the street. How insulting! I chose to drive the car I drive because I have a long commute because I chose to live in Pasadena and not Long Beach, not because I can't afford a Porsche or Maserati or Bentley (a Rolls would be a stretch!). Now that I'm in the market for something more "upmarket" for weekend drives through the canyons, I know exactly who not to give my money to. read more

Right away, I was told by my service advisor that this would cost me $270+ just for diagnosis, because Volvo only covers noises like this under 12 months/12k miles. My car has more than that, so they said it wasn't covered. This explanation didn't sit right with me, because I knew from Volvo's own Technical Journal (TJ 36865.1.1) that this exact issue is a known problem with the XC90 and that Volvo provides a documented fix under warranty. At first, the lead technician downplayed it and even asked me, "Is it really bothering you enough to spend the money for diagnosis?" -- which felt dismissive and unprofessional. I insisted on showing the noise, and when another mechanic (George) joined us, he immediately knew exactly what I was talking about. Without even leaving the parking lot, he pointed to the seat rail/spring area and said this was the cause -- and confirmed it is a known issue with a published Volvo fix. Only then did the lead technician agree to escalate it. After a long wait, they finally came back and said they would take the car in "as a one-time goodwill." But here's the truth: this is not goodwill. This is a documented Volvo issue that should be handled under warranty. Calling it "goodwill" is misleading, because it suggests they are doing me a favor, when in reality Volvo has already recognized this issue and provided warranty claim codes for it. We bought our 2022 XC90 Hybrid from you in 2022, it was your car Sally. There were a couple of reasons why we chose Rusnak, first off I work close, so getting the car serviced would be easy and second reason was the name Rusnak has always been highly thought of with excellent service. The service from the sales person Ibeth was wonderful! After that it seems like that service went downhill and has been VERY disappointing. I had an issue of how my payment for the car was handled, it was nonchalant and I had to constantly follow up and make sure it was received. and then... Last year 2023 I bought my car in several times speaking with Steve and complaining about a popping sound and feeling which I thought was in the front end of my car. Every time i brought the car in, I was given the car back saying that the sound couldn't be replicated. I even drove the car with the foreman and WAS able to replicate the sound with him in the car. My car was there for a day or two each time I bought it in and at one point my car was there for a week and the sound was still not fixed, once again saying the sound could not be replicated. The last time I got my car back from Rusnak I was told that everything was fine and the sound was not a safety issue. The sound kept occurring and was very bothersome coming from a brand new car. After driving away the last time I brought it in, I felt that either (a.) The car was not being looked at (b.) My concerns were not being heard (c.) Being a women I don't know what I was talking about. So my next service was due and I thought let me make an appointment with Galpin and bring my husband, maybe a different dealer and my husband being with me will be able to fix this. I met with Anthony Marino who apparently used to work at Rusnak and he drove with me hearing the sound I was talking about. Within 2 hours of dropping the car off, Galpin called me and let me know that they found the sound and I was to come back to get a loaner cause I was not driving the car, after I offered to pick it up and bring it back once the part was in. It had to do with the hybrid system and according to the foreman at Galpin its a very common problem. For almost 2 years I was driving around with this sound and feeling in my car, taking my car into Rusnak several times to try and figure out what this is and in 2 hours Galpin figured it out. Finally we had an answer!! It felt so disappointing the fact I spent so much time trying to work with Rusnak to understand the problem only for Galpin to get it done in 2 hours and it felt that there WAS a safety issue since Galpin WOULD NOT let me drive the car until this issue was fixed. The whole reason I wanted a Volvo was for safety to be able to drive my littles around and feel safe in the car we all are in. I will no longer bring my car to Rusnak for service and even though it is harder and further to get to Galpin, I would much rather have them work on my car, since I feel they have my best interest and are concerned about my safety. read more

Very dissatisfied. My 2020 broke down in the middle of the freeway. It's understandable and reasonable to have waited for an appointment until Tuesday, given that the service departmet is closed on weekends. Very nice and cordial employees, therefore this review is not intended for the individuals but rather the practices of the business. I was told the problem was fixable and covered under warranty, which was great to hear despite the unexpected scare of being stranded on the freeway by what i was told, was a common problem among new cars from any car manufacturer (hmmmm). In addition to the issue in hand, I was given a quote for additional recommended services, which are not covered. A staggering 1k in out of pocket expenses for the recommended services, which not only I refused but questioned. My brakes were changed in May 2021 and I was told today, despite my car barely accumulating mileage (2020 w/ 11k miles), that I needed front and back brake pads replaced, among other less expensive services. I asked how this was possible, as it seems ridiculous to change twice since acquiring the vehicle... i have yet to receive a response. Furthermore, when I picked up my "ready" and "fixed" vehicle, to worsen my dismay, I found the front passenger flooring in disarray. Picture attached. *Update: this morning, I received an apology for the technician forgetting to secure the panel. It's very alarming and disappointing to come across such a low degree of quality service. Despite the friendly and cordial staff, it seems that the service department operates on quantity not quality of service. This experience was humbling, as I was reminded that the cost of trust is very high and in this case, unattainable. Shame on me for not listening to friends that warned me to avoid Rusnak. I now undertand why these friends prefer to commute to Galpin Van Nuys and Culver City to have their respective Volvo vehicles serviced, despite living in Pasadena in close proximity to Rusnak. I make an appointment for my XC90 for service and to have a persistent brake issue fixed since I was under warranty for another month. I dropped off the vehicle on a Friday (after not being told that they had recently moved and had driven to the old location) and was told it would be available on Saturday for pickup (I do not have another vehicle and need it to get to work and back). The vehicle was not ready when promised and I had to trouble family members to take me to work and pick me up. I was told the brake issue was resolved at pickup. After driving the vehicle for 10 minutes the horrible brake noise came back. I immediately called and made another appointment and was given a courtesy vehicle to use while the car was being serviced, again. I was told the issue was resolved, again, and picked the vehicle up only to have the issue return 10 minutes later. I called the service department and told them that the issue had returned and that I would need to drop the vehicle off again and that I would need a courtesy vehicle. I was told that they would reach out shortly, as soon as the courtesy vehicle was available. I've been waiting over 2 months now for that call. My warranty has now expired as I was waiting. I've reached out several times and was told I would be called back, and have not been. I've reached out to Volvo corporate and am waiting for a callback. If I do not get my issue resolved in a timely manner I will be reaching out to the Ca Attorney general to discuss the issue. The staff is friendly and the new location is nice, it's too bad their service and follow up is so poor. read more

Make sure you don't get hector Torres as your rep, he never checks in on the car tells you updates without verifying and makes appointments via email. There aren't in the books that end up making you wait a lot longer. I would recommend going to different location. Car Wash is also always stuck and takes 40 minutes to retrieve your car once they call you telling you it's ready. read more
