I have a 2001 Jetta, Turbo engine, 80K miles. I have been to this dealer several times to take care of recalls. After my last experience, I will never go again. I received a flyer in the mail indicating a "free inspection and car wash" with a detailed list of standard inspection points (fluids, tires, etc) and I thought "hey, why not, its free and my car *is* dirty..." I pulled my car into the driveway, a chipper service man (I am KICKING myself that I didn't get his name due to my ensuing shock) smiled, shook my hand, asked me how he could help me. I handed him the flyer and he walked around the car, noting the VIN and going "mm-hmm, ah-haa" for a while. He opened my hood and *immediately* said "Well, you are going to need a new timing belt!" I asked him how critical or immediate this need was, and he told me "you are lucky I caught it, its a time-bomb, you could have driven just around the corner and BAM, you could have had a fatal accident! You need to replace this immediately" I then asked him to show me the belt and why it needed replacing and he said "Well, you can't see it because its under this casing. Let me take you inside and we will add up the cost." EXCUSE ME?!!! If you can't show me the timing belt, how the hell did you see it to know that it needed replacing? I left the dealership and looked it up on my own--first of all, it shouldn't need replacing until *well* over 100K miles, so I know he didn't make the judgment based on my mileage. I subsequently brought it to a repair shop who checked it out and said there was NOTHING WRONG with it. And the price he wanted to charge me to "save my life"? $1200. I will never, ever, ever patronize this dealership again. That "pitch" adds up to the equivalent of extortion at the threat of death or bodily harm to the customer. I don't know if the man just assumed that because I'm a 25-year old woman that he could get away with whatever he wanted, but he didn't, and I want everybody to know what kind of shenanigans go on at this dealership. Oh, and by the way--since I didn't buy his baloney and have my car fixed, they didn't give me the "free car wash." read more

The worst customer service ever. I'm sorry but I know how to calculate finance charges. We were told we were getting a deal at 1.9% APR. I did my calculation and it turns out to be much more then that. The sales consultant went to the finance guy's office and came back apologizing saying "you are smarter than I'm, it is actually 4.9%". Ummm still no were close to my calculations. The finance guy was brought in to explain to me with a screen printout. There were several lines that were whited out. He was not able to explain to me how the calculations were being done, other than we enter 4.9% into the system. The system cannot be wrong when we've paid thousands of dollars for it. Then he went on to say that I have no clue what I'm doing. Sorry but you do not talk to a customer that way and I walked out with him screaming at the back of my head. Sorry guys, but that was unacceptable. read more

Today I didnt make any appointment as I am really busy and my schedule is always fluctuating. Even with half the amount of staff on the weekend Norman (service advisor) took me in anyways and had a decent turn around time for my car. I totally recommend this place as the staff there are totally honest. They try their best and will be straight forward to you, not trying to charge you more than what you should pay for service on your VW. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation on my 2013 Jetta, made an appointment and was helped by Wendy Duong. Wendy informed me that there were two open recalls on my vehicle and that they would take care of them for me that very day - keeping me updated as to the progress throughout. While the car was up, the mechanics noticed one of my CV boots was cracked and I had it replaced. The only problem I had was the amount of time I spent there, I planned for an hour, maybe two for the oil change and tire rotation, but with the additional services and repairs I spent closer to 4 hours. I had a noon appointment elsewhere and Wendy was able to prioritize my service so that I was able to make it to my appointment with time to spare. read more

I worked with Vick on the transaction and he was very responsive, professional and helpful. I never once felt like I was being sold a car I didn't want and it was made clear to me exactly what I would be getting, which I really appreciated. Well first off I Love my new Tiguan! I bought right off the showroom floor. Fell in love with it as soon as I seen it. I've bought many cars before and never have I had such a great/amazing experience from when I walked in that day till I drove off in my new VW! Sales mgr Wally was kind,friendly, very professional, and his sales person Brian who helped me was easy going not pushy and made overall process a smooth transaction. I had rode in a friends Tiguan a few days before and was very impressed that I had to go "Look" at one. Living local the Pasadena store was closest and had great reviews so I decided to go here. (Glad I did) I got the payment I wanted and the car I wanted I couldn't ask for much more buying process was simple and finance mgr Scott was great and I ended up getting maintenance package he wasn't pushy as some finance people can be and respected when I said no thank you for some of the products they offer. Do NOT come to this dealership to have your car serviced! The "mechanics" who "inspect" your car are clearly on commission and will RIP YOU OFF. They are liars and will try convince you to pay huge sums of money to have unnecessary work done. They also charge about 3 times the going rate for parts and labor. One mechanic (young, caucasion, curly haired) was a complete asshole to my parents, and I've literally had to bring my car in every 2 months because of random issues related to them effing something up or not being thorough during another auto repair. Incompetence and a lack of professionalism characterize this VW dealership and service center. After probably $4000 worth of service that rarely improved my car, I'm heading elsewhere. read more

This is for a review from a test drive experience at this dealership about 4 months ago. Hubby and I went in sat morning to look at a few electric vehicles and requested a test drive. The manager asked us to wait outside while he retrieved the keys. We waited for a whole 20 minutes! When we went back in asking about what the hold up was, the manager finally came out and walked us to a vehicle that was charging and unlocked the doors. We went inside and saw personal belongings in there. We then asked if this was someone's car. The manager then responded that they didn't have any new cars to show and this belonged to an employee. We were offended and asked when they may get a new vehicle so we can come back and actually drive one instead of snooping around in your employees' car. Isn't that illegal? The manager responded with I don't know when we will get more and just sort of walked away. We will never be back and we will never buy from you. Awful service and disrespectful attitude all around. Don't come here people, they lost my business and that of my family and friends and I am a loyal VW enthusiast. read more

Both the sales and the service team do an incredible job at taking Care of their customers. I always know that when I bring my car here, they're gonna do a full 30 point inspection and get it back to me on time. They also provide complimentary shuttle service or discounted enterprise rentals. The business model they have established here is universal across all Volkswagen dealerships and service locations. I originally brought in my car in April to have my power steering checked on since the alert light kept on illuminating on and off. The consultant Sal was unfriendly and uninformative to me; I have been a faithful customer to the Pasadena dealership for more than 3 years, so it was alarming to be treated as I was that day. The next day, my power steering light was illuminating again. I informed the staff of my situation the next day and was given an apology by the site manager and a voucher. I was able to bring in my car again in June due to conflicts of scheduling with work. The second time I brought in my car for the same issue I had in April I was welcomed by Tom Anderson. He was friendly and understanding of my concerns. He took the time to listen and make inquiries of my car issues unlike Sal. Even with Tom's assistance, the next day my car power steering light came back on again after being reassured that it was fixed properly the second time. At this point I am really frustrated since I paid twice for a job that was not properly done and I had to take time again from work to bring in my car to be checked for the same issues I had in April. I brought in my car again for the third time at 8am and was again rudely greeted by Sal. I asked for Tom, however Tom was off that day. Sal did not greet me and did not take the time to listen to the issues I was having with my car. I informed him that I need my car back by 12pm since I had a meeting at 1pm. Long story short, I did not get my car back until 12:45pm and I was late to my meeting at 1pm. Sal was inconsiderate and did not speak to me. He did not apologized for not ordering a ride shuttle on time for me to pick up my car, after I asked him several times that I needed to be back to work by 1pm. Sal also did not explained to me what was wrong with my car. I had to ask the cashier rep about the worked being performed on my car. Thank god she was a repair consultation too. She was able to calmly explain to me what was wrong with my car and ways to remedy the situation. After the 3rd time of bringing my car to this dealership, I was told that I had a broken senor on my power steering light. I was told that I can get a refund for the previous time that I had brought in my car, however the refund had to be in store credit. I am willing to forgo with my store credit because I do not ever want to set foot in Volkswagen Pasadena again! I made the costly mistake of bringing my car there in April, when I should have stuck with Volkswagen Alhambra. This is unfortunate because in the past I would have gladly recommended Volkswagen Pasadena to any of my friends and family, now I would tell them to avoid the site since the new staff there are rude and unfriendly. Sal needs better training in dealing with customers and can learn a lot from Tom. read more

I have never been happier with a car purchase. Not only am I in LOVE with my new Tiguan the service was exceptional! I literally had a dream team. Christian Contreras, Tony Pruitt and Scott O'Donnell got me the exact car I wanted in the price range I wanted. They even went above and beyond to locate the car for me since I was looking for a color they did not have. They made me feel so relaxed and there was no pressure at all. Even on the phone Christian said he would not pressure me and I can walk away at anytime, I'm so glad I didn't cause I drove off in a gorgeous new car. 2 years ago Apple announced apple CarPlay and slowly it is now going into cars. A HUGE bonus of the Tiguan R-Line. How I ever drove with out it before is beyond me. I didn't need to pay thousands of dollars for navigation cause I have it right at my finger tips with CarPlay, and with out the hassle of leaning a cars navigation. From the initial contact with Clair who truly had been the angel on my shoulder. It was determined my entire fuel system required replacement/cleaning. The cost to say the least was jaw dropping! I had some issues at VW Pasadena for a a couple days after buying a new car. In any case, they sorted things out and all is good now it appears. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this group again, as they seemed more organized and customer oriented compared to every other dealership I've been to, which is quite a few I've visited. Management doesn't push you to the side when you complain, thus causing more problems. They serve you until all is well and all problems are resolved - there's usually at least a couple issues buying a car no matter what brand or dealership. What matters is how the dealership handles the situation, or if they handle it at all. VW of Pasadena exceeded in this and left me pleasantly surprised. I'll be back in a couple years to buy the new Golf R if there is one. Until next time. read more

I walked in here to test drive the CC which they had on an internet special. There was absolutely no pressure at all and in fact the salesmen even let my fiance sit in the front. After taking it for a spin the salesman asked if I had any question and I told him no. He said he would give us sometime to discuss and to walk in when we were done. I went ahead and put an offer in. The service in this place is awful. I went to there 4 times for just one problem, they fixed one problem and then created one new problem and so on. I lived far away from Pasadena, It spent me a whole day each time. It really waste lots of my time. Therefore I strongly suggest you to check your car after they repair it or don't go to this place for service. I bought a 2012 black Tiguan at the dealer. I went there few days later after I brought the car because I found some problems such as engine light flash when I turn on it, one of vent didn't work, and there was some scratches on my car. The sales said they can fix it for free when I bought the car. I made an appointment before I went there, but when I drove 2 hours and went there on appointment time, they said they will be closed soon. I was angry because I had made an appointment and drove 2 hours to there and they couldn't do anything. I made another appointment and went there few days later. They kept my car few days to fix it. Few days later, I got a call and went there to pick up my car. I found there has a hole on the dash board. There had no hole before they repair my car. I didn't know what did they do to my car. I showed the hole to the service staff, she said she didn't have the part and need to order it for me, so I drove my car back and waiting for their call. I got a call one week later and went to there again. They repair the dash board for me. I went to supermarket after I got the car, but when I wanted to go home, I turned on the radio and it didn't work. It showed on the safety mode and need code. I was so angry that what did they do. Could they pay a little attention when they did the service? I went their store again but the service department had closed. I talked to the sales and he told me he didn't have any way to solve it and he will talk to the service next morning try to solve it on the phone. The next morning, I called to their service and she told me she couldn't solve it on the phone, I need to go to their place again and they can pull out the radio to find the code. I really don't trust her and didn't want to go there again. She told me I can go to any dealer to solve it for free. So I went to another dealer nearby. The dealer said they need to pull out the radio and it would cost 49 dollars. They help me to call to Pasadena dealer and that didn't work. Finally the dealer in my city try to help me to find the code without pull out the radio and they did it. I really appreciate the Volkswagen dealer in my city. They helped me and saved my time. read more
