For $25, you can demo two rackets at a time until you find the right one. Dave gave me some good options as I was looking for a new racket. If you decide to purchase from them, the demo fee is applied to your purchase. After dropping off my two racquets, the guy let me borrow one of his brandnew still wrapped in plastic wilson racquet. They called me by Wednesday ro let me know that they're ready for pick. Very nice and cute shop. My son needed to restring his racket and the young lady who helped us was very accommodating. She said it'll take 2 days to have it done, but very nice to tell us that she can have it done right away. I happened upon this shop while on Yelp. I was so excited to see a tennis shop somewhat close to home. I had just popped some strings and needed both my rackets restrung. The owner is super nice and very helpful. He even showed me some tennis elbow stretching techniques and also strung my racket to help the the muscle pain. They did a fantastic job on the restring. We've been trialling tennis racquets here for the past few weeks, the staff are always super helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Dave has often rang my husband to let him know that the racquets we are wanting to try are back in and ready for us to pick up. They do a great trial period where you can pick up different racquets every 3 days for a month for $25, at the end of the month if you buy two of the same racquets you get 10% off. (I believe there's also a 2 month option for trials) We've also had racquetball racquets restrung here in the past, it was a fast and efficient service! Had a great experience at this shop. Came in on a Monday after snapping my strings. I was expecting to wait a few days before having my racquet back, but got a phone call stating it was ready for pick-up in less than 24 hours. Some of you may know that I was an Intramural Mixed Doubles Tennis Champion, some of you may not. I hadn't played since the "accident" in '03 but lately, with the buzz of the French Open, Wimbledon, and my sister starting to play, I dusted off the racquets, bought new shoes, and hit the courts. I called up Big 5 to ask if they restrung racquets and they said no but that Volley's did. I had never seen or heard of Volley's but I decided to check it out. Volley's is about the size of my bedroom but you'd be surprised what the owner fits in there. I was ready to get all tennis snobby and say, "Owner, your most expensive strings! Money is no object!" I didn't say it quite like that but he talked me out of it right away. He recommended some less expensive strings and even talked to me about tension and whatnot. I was pleasantly surprised because I was expecting a small shop owner to up-sell. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and I like the one on one attention that I get when I go in there... because the shop is so small it can only fit one customer at a time... plus I like attention. read more

If you get your badminton racket stringed here make sure to have your receipt and take pictures of your broken racket. The owner Dave will try to kick the bucket and assumed that the racket is at fault and try to send it back when he himself broke it. This is due to his lack of badminton stinging knowledge. Based on my experience, Long story short. He broke the racket by over stretching it and did not admitted it it was very obvious since the racket was BRAND NEW and was stringed once with out any problems Even the employee who stringed it admit that he broke it yet and how, yet Dave insist that it was the rackets fault that it couldn't handled being over stretched..... He made me get a receipt for the racket, tries 3- 4 month (the whole winter quarter of waiting) to get it replace and eventually gets a hook up from a yonex supplier that he knew who turned a blind eye and him and replacement racket which he then gave to me and then I found out that it was lesser value of my original racket compared to the limited edition Voltric Z-force. He wasted my time and money, and ripped me off. This place is for tennis not badminton, It totally change my opinion of, "When you take your racket to get it stringed at a store they will take care of it when they break it vs some guy" wrong. they just try to take the cheaper way out without acknowledging their own policy. I recommend you guys not coming here at all. Don't give this place the chance it already loss.. read more

Volleys is a great local tennis shop. I don't know anyone's name unfortunately but the gentleman usually behind the counter is friendly and knowledgeable about tennis in general and local tennis. They don't have the largest selection of gear but they have the staples and major brands which is basically all you need. Also, they carry Prince racquets and know how to string them properly. Personally, they set themselves apart by the customer service compared to a place like Courtside. read more

Sad to hear that Roger, the original owner, left for the East coast. I came here on numerous occasions back in undergrad to get my racket restrung and he always did quality work in a timely manner. With the new management, this seems to be run by students who aren't very helpful and don't give off the impression of being very knowledgeable. When someone is buying a high-end racquet from a specialty store like this, you at least expect them to be helpful and knowledgeable. Rather, when they ask the tension you want for stringing your racquet and you say you don't know, they don't even have a suggestion (ummmmm... isn't that expertise the reason I went to a local store and spent $150 on a racquet?). When I went to pick up my racquet after they had strung it, they forgot I had already paid- they had made no note of it on the slip. Too bad there isn't much other choice in Davis, must be the only way they can stick around. read more

RJ at Volley's does an great job stringing racquets and he has very extensive knowledge of the racquet selection and play style of each of the racquets. As a club tennis player, I needed advice on strings and racquets and he was very detailed. Mentioned that he had used most of the racquets before to test how they hit. Seems like he can definitely recommend racquet/strings based on play style. read more
