Typical sports bar. We were there on what appeared to be a slow Saturday night. Plenty of open seating at the bar and lots of open tables. Beer was cold, cocktails were expensive, food was adequate, service was horrible. Don't expect the bartender/server to be attentive if you sit at a table. I have to walk to the bar to ask for more drinks after the first ones sat empty for 10 minutes with our server oblivious to the fact that the glasses were empty. She never even bothered to stop and see how we were doing. This basically continued for our whole time there. Ordered food at the bar. Went back to table. Ate food. Never check on. Back to bar to pay. Wont be back. I'd hate to see how service is when it's actually busy. read more

It's been years since I've written a Yelp review but felt Volpe's Sports Bar deserves it. Contrary to some of the reviews, the service was outstanding, thanks to Hannah tending bar and the food really good. Had the sub, Boars Head lunch meat sliced thin and it was huge for a 1/2 hoagie. The fries were hot and tasty! We ate at the bar, fast service, hot food, cold drinks, friendly staff and crazy clean! Many weekday specials. More than worth the visit!! read more

This place has certainly gone downhill over the years. It's certainly not the same place I turned 21 at when I had my first adult beverage and I also had some core memories from here over the years. The service there upon my return was horrible. The staff is entitled and unpleasant. I don't appreciate a server coming over to our table spit-firing attitude and bad vibes. When working in hospitality and your pay depends on tips... here's a tip for you--treat people better. read more

6 years ago, I raved about their Philly cheesesteak. A couple of years ago we went back, and it was ok. I ordered one today and it was very disappointing. The meat was over cooked/dry (crispy) a barely any cheese. My hubby got the regular cheesesteak. Same thing but his had no cheese. read more

Food was OK, the server was unwelcoming, rude, and inattentive (and it wasn't crowded). Went here yesterday for dinner with my family of 5 for a college sendoff for the kids, were extremely polite and didn't ask for anything special. The server met us without a smile or greeting, got two orders wrong and really made the experience terrible. We had to approach her at the bar for napkins (we were offered no silverware or napkins) and she was so rude and dismissive of this request it was really unacceptable. I live in Emmaus and have been to Volpes many times in the past and loved their food & service. However I haven't been there in well over a year and we decided to order take out from them. I don't know if it's just this particular time or if they dialed back their portion sizes. I paid $13 for a cheese steak and fries and got a small cheese steak and small portion of fries. I also ordered a basket of fries to share and it looked like a single order. I've ordered a basket of fries in the past, and my husband and I couldn't finish them all. This trip to Volpes cost $40 and my son and husband are still hungry after eating. I understand the times we're in right now. Prices are high due to inflation and businesses are trying to cut back where they can. But this was a little too far.. Unless this was a one off situation, I can't imagine anyone continuing to waist money here. read more

I would stop in about once a week because its convenient, but after consecutively getting terrible service and a hair in my food last night, I will no longer be going here. Yesterday after eating about half a plate of my nachos, I noticed a hair inside the cheese sauce and told the waitress. She took the plate to the kitchen, came back out and rung me out. No offer to replace the food, dock the amount off the bill or anything! Not a word! I paid and left, but will never be returning. Last week, I was literally the only person in the entire bar, there were two pregnant bartenders, who sat on their phones the entire time. I could see that my food was ready (kitchen light outside the door was on) but they had to finish up looking at their phones to bring my food out, that was a good 5 minutes. Neither one of them asked to replenish my water or beer or checked in at all while I sat there. Again, absolutely terrible service and will not be returning. read more

I have been more than enough times to give a fair assessment. A couple of months ago I ate here with friends and the two that ordered wings ended up with food poisoning. The most recent visit the bartenders Kyra and Ben were extremely rude and did not give our table the time of day and acted very unprofessionally. This is a 3.5 star joint. We were in the area last evening and I wanted to catch some NHL action, so we walked in here. Looks like they still have a smoking bar/dining area to the right, so we walked further to the left to come into a fairly large bar and more spacious restaurant. We found a table near a TV and a nice server came over to welcome us. I asked if she was able to get the hockey game and since it was nationally televised, she was able to get the remote and get us the game. Score! A decent tap list, so ordered up a round of beers and then checked out the menu, which was pretty decent. Wings, pierogies, cheesesteaks, burgers, various sandwiches and salads. I decided on an order of Pierogies and a Chicken Caesar wrap. The pierogies were quite good, even if they were Mrs. T's with a adequate portion of perfectly fried onions on top and a side of sour cream. My wrap was not large, but perfect size to fill me up without going overboard. Not messy and even had a hard boiled egg, split up with half between the wrap. Can't say I have had that before, but it was great. There were only 2 servers in the entire place (bar, tables), so they were stretched a bit thin, but very friendly. If they were on top of their game, we probably would have ordered a second round of beers, but they were busy, so I walked the bill up to the bar to finalize the payment. Not a big deal and we wanted to hit the road. Clean, bright place with many locals hanging out. I think I found a decent gem in the very small town of Emmaus. read more

Wings were good and service was great. Stopped in after a round of golf on a Saturday afternoon for some Beer and football. I felt bad for the bartender as she was maintaining both the bar which was full and the dining room. If you didn't know that, you would have never known. Most of my travels are centered around breweries. I've been to 812 in 37 states. But I wanted to comment on this sports bar because of their wide selection on the craft beer. Good food and good entertainment. Just be careful if you want to go there and watch your favorite football team. They advertise themselves as a place to watch all football games however, I hear they push the Eagles a little bit too much and it turns some fans off. Seriously I love Volpe's! They treat you like family here. The bartenders are absolutely amazing and they always remember your name. They have two bars one is for smoking and one is for food and nonsmoking. It's one of the last bars that allows smoking. They have a great beer and liquor selection and the food is pretty good. Stopped by for dinner and a drink. The bartender strongly recommended the pulled beef sandwich, which I had. It was ok, nothing super or special to write home about, the horseradish sauce was good and complemented the sandwich well. I also had a steamed clam appetizer. The clams were plain steamed, no broth or any additional flavor, they were served with browned butter, which was good. Overall I would say the staff and local beer selection are the reason to visit. The food was good, competently executed, but not really original in any way. All in all Volpe's is a good value for an any day of the week when you want bar food while watching the game. There is an indoor smoking area (closed door partition from the rest of the bar) for those of us who enjoy a cigar (or cigarette). read more

I've never been inside this restaurant, but I had a chance to sample their cusine at the Emmaus Summer Fest this weekend. My husband went straight for the Burgery tent, and while I love Burgery anything, I wanted to try something else. I'd never even heard of Volpe's, so it was time to try it! I went for the pulled pork barbecue. The bun was super fresh, and the bbq was okay...the meat was high quality, but the sauce was a bit sweet for me. Overall it was a good sandwich. I don't do much for sports bars, but the next time we are, we'll probably try actually going to Volpe's. read more

We go here a decent amount - typically on off time like sundays due to my husbands schedule. They have a great Football Sunday vibe and in the off season they always have a good variety of sports on! They have a huge array of craft beer, regular beer and really great spirit drinks. And sundays they have fun mimosas which is nice for us ladies! It's always clean and service is always great! Went here for 1 drink with a friend. They had a large selection of beer as well as other spirits. Atmosphere was a typical sports bar with lots of tvs. We were there around 11pm on a Friday night so the crowd were alot of young 20 something's. It seemed to me that they had 2 bars. We were in the main bar area. I'm not sure what the crowd was like on the other side. May have been more low key. Music was blasting in the area we were in which made it hard to talk. read more

Had a great time at happy hour. Good selection of craft beer with Happy hour specials. This was a place a lot of locals were telling me about and just had to check it out. Great pub food, had the wings and a burger that my wife and I split, which was plenty for both of us. I've worked at Volpe's on and off as entertainment on Saturday nights, so I'm very familiar with the place. The staff is very friendly and, in my experience, treats everyone with respect. It's also a great place to catch football games on a Sunday as they have a ton of flatscreens that show just about any game you could possibly want to see on any particular Sunday. The food selection is pretty standard but good tasting. I've never had any issues and I've eaten here plenty of times. The beer selection is pretty stellar and they switch up the drafts pretty often. Overall, I really like the place. You should give it a shot. read more

Volpe's is a great neighborhood bar! Food is average bar fare but is good. Drinks are great and reasonably priced. The bartenders and staff have always been super friendly as well. I've never been here for live music or a DJ but hopefully in the future that'll change. -1 star because I ordered BBQ wings the last time I was there and I got some sort of spicy as h*&% wings! I hate spicy but sucked it up.. Emmaus is a cozy town with not much to do at night. Its nice to have a place like Volpe's. read more

We hate writing bad reviews but the management here is just horrendous. The bar staff, especially an older gentleman, is hilarious, entertaining and helpful but don't ask for something special or maybe even look at the bar manager - Brendan - the wrong way. He'll tell the staff to stop serving you drinks, get your tab and tell you to leave. Customer service is the most important part of your dining experience, this place has missed the mark. Wish it was better. Hire a new manager, this place could be so much more. read more
