The place is popular and people talk about it. It has souvenir stores, restaurants, candy stores, an ice cream shop, and other stores. It is colorful and clean inside. The entrance has a huge sign so it is easy to spot. This shopping center has a parking garage. What is convenient and great about parking is that is right across from the shops. The garage connects to the building with a walking bridge. The bridge was clean and colorful. A good place to take pictures. . . . I saw towards the back of the shops a bandshell. A nice area with chairs. I don't know if it's part of the shops but I just wanted to mention that if you keep walking towards the back there are more things to see.

This worked well for us because we didn't have to battle with finding a decent parking space or waiting in long lines. (You know what store I'm talking about... starts with an H) Fine, but my personal observation especially based on the visit I made last week is that even though the other market is being hyped up by social media; Lotte is still a better, and more affordable market. Granted, the food court choices at the other location are better, I'd still come to Lotte when I need specific asian ingredients. It seems they're aware that theres more competition and they've not only done renovations to the store but they have a lot more specials now than before. The day we went they even had several people promoting products and giving out samples. I don't recall them ever doing that before and I think that's a great idea to boost sales in items. When we first come in, I feel like I'm flashing back to being a little kid. It is a bit dated to when it originally opened. I looked it up and that was 1974. Surprisingly when walking through the mall, it's pretty happening. It still has a good amount of stores. We walked our dog here which was nice and we like to sit down somewhere comfy so he can eat since it's the middle of the day. This mall served its purpose with us. I have some places that I like to go there for food, like the Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs. My daughter likes that there's a Claire's, and all the other Claire's around that we know are now closed. They have unique places when it comes to luxury brands, plenty of parking, but in peak season time can get difficult to find a parking close to the entrance. I go sometimes, and meet friends since it's near the touristic/universal studios area. They also have a big Apple store, that occasionally visit.

First, seating can be a challenge. There is plenty of outdoor seating but not much indoors. The day we went it was pretty hot and sitting outside was not the most enjoyable experience at times. Second, I fully support spending money at local businesses but the tipping culture here felt a bit excessive. I bought a bag of coffee beans with no drink and was prompted for a tip. I spent $45 for 12 pieces of chocolates at Oban Chocolatier and was asked for a tip there too. Same thing when I spent about $25 on four cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse. I am happy to support but it started to feel like a lot in a not enjoyable way. Third, the hours between vendors can be a bit awkward. We came around brunch time which worked for some spots but others were not open yet. For example, Domu does not open until dinner (5PM) and Gyukatsu Rose was not opening until later in the afternoon (3 PM) Overall, I think this is a great place to check out especially if you enjoy trying a variety of local spots.
