People here were very friendly and welcoming. We got the beef plate, chicken plate & hot links/pulled pork plate and they were all equally delicious. This place has horrible service! I put in a DoorDash order at 10:43 AM. The app alerted me that the food would be ready by 1145. I was even late to pick it up. Got there at 12:05 went in and had to wait for a bit before anyone came to help me. I let them let him know. I was there to pick up a DoorDash order for myself. At that time I saw my ticket still hanging and hasn't even started being cooked yet. I asked him how is that possible when I put my order in before the restaurant even opened up. He shrugged his shoulders and acted like I was an inconvenience. And mumbled its very busy. This place does not know how to conduct business! As they do not put their customers satisfaction first. I asked to speak to a supervisor to which he replied ;he is that person and then I asked for the owners and again he says he is that person shame on this business no wonder why small businesses never do well. I left back home with no food and contacted DoorDash and ask them to make sure this restaurant is reprimanded or kicked off the platform. Hopefully no one else has experienced this!!!! This is a charming little spot tucked away in a residential area. It doesn't have a lot of room inside, but there's a few tables and there is outdoor seating. But you're not coming here for that. The sign outside said BBQ and that got my attention. There's only a few BBQ items, but that's ok. I got the #2 Korean BBQ beef sandwich. It's $18 before I added fries, normally comes with a salad. While it was tasty, I found the amount of meat to be a bit small for what I paid. For that price you can get a lot mor at other places. The fries looked homemade and were the star of the meal. I'd probably give this place another try, but the prices do make we wary of the value. Last time I was here was years ago. They changed ownership earlier this year. It's a very casual bbq place with some tables and benches. It's all ordered at the counter. I tried the bbq plate with hot links and pulled pork with a salad and garlic bread. You can get combo plates with different sides. They also have a lot of Korean bbq options from the original owners who were Korean. Overall a simple place with good bbq. I like their sauce which is sweet and a little tangy. Salad was fresh ingredients good. It's not necessarily a good place for a quick meal because it can take some time for your order and they get busy at lunchtime. Absolute garbage customer service. Ordered some plates and there was a cockroach in my bag. I called the restaurant and explained the situation and they told me to "F off" and insisted that "they would have seen it" and called me a liar, a fraud, etc. One of the justifications the "owner/manager" used to avoid giving me a refund was "well, you ordered a lot, so...." (verbatim) - as if that is any kind of justification for not refunding my order. Note: the owner/manager was being a huge pain in the bottom about this even though I offered to go out of my way to bring the plates back to his restaurant, as I don't want to eat food that has been in the same bag as a cockroach. I've never encountered such hostility or condescension from a restaurant in my life. Highly recommend others to avoid this restaurant as they do not treat customers right. read more

I also enjoy how fresh the greens were and how lightly they tossed the dressing on salads and rice was made to perfection! Well, cool for California. I talked to the staff, very friendly. I told the chef that I hadn't been there since I first got to Palo Alto 30 years ago. Well +- years, wouldn't want to make a mistake. The cook definitely found it humorous. Back to the Bulgogi. Nicely seasoned; nice charred flavor; great fries. 18 bucks, high but these are inflationary times. This is an unassuming hole in the wall with a small parking lot and a small seating area in front of the restaurant. We stopped by around 2:00pm for a late lunch. I was absolutely shocked that the plates involving short ribs (Galbi) were incredibly expensive. A plate of short ribs (with rice and salad) was like $28 and a two item plate with short ribs + your choice for meat was like $29. For those prices I'm expecting a full size portion that can feed like 3+ people...not to mention fancy full service.... I ordered one two item plate (short ribs plus spicy pork) to share with my sister and the portion size was very small. Only a few pieces of short rib to my dismay. The portion was barely enough for one person and I don't eat that much. The short ribs were actually quite tasty and the meat fell off the bone easily. It just is way too expensive to order. I was a bit disappointed by the spicy pork. It seemed more on the drier side with less sauce / oil. A bit of char yes but I really wanted more sauce. The side salad was okay but the dressing was very very very subtle. It really just looked and kind of tasted like wet leaves. My husband really liked his pork sandwich and that seemed a much better deal at $13 or so. I think the sandwiches are the way to go if you eat here. So good, this delicious restaurant had a generic sounding name, it should be called "menlo Korean bbq". Ate here for the first time with some coworkers, the bibimbap bowl was so good I keep thinking about it. Seriously, the best to go food presentation!!! (see my pic). I ordered the Korean BBQ with Bi Bim Bap. The beef was between okay and good, it was something about the flavor. What I really enjoyed here were all the sides!! The veggies were fresh and well flavored, I even ate the veggies that I don't usually care for like the cauliflower and sprouts. Overall a good and satisfying meal. We called a head to order, it only took about 20 minutes. They have their own parking lot and prices are fairly reasonable. There was a still a lot of people coming in and out of this place to pick up orders or order for takeout/eat outdoors throughout the time I was there. The food is what impressed me. My family and I all got the Korean rice plates with the purple rice. I was excited for the purple rice and the meats were all pretty impressive. Large pieces of flavorful meat, big scoop of rice, and yummy salad. This place is the real deal! One plate could be split into two meals because portion size is very generous. Price wise isn't so bad either. This place is good to crave your Korean food cravings and the price isn't so bad either. With shelter in place going on I hope this place sticks around! The food here is awesome! The short ribs are pricey but very tasty, and you can't really go wrong with any of the meats (beef, pork, or chicken). The dishes come mild or spicy and for two or three meats, you can ask for a mix of mild one item and spicy another item. The salad dressing is our family favorite. It's a little on the sweet side. The bimbimbap is really good too, but the ingredients are different from what you may be used to. Best side dish has to be the garlic fries. Garlic bread is another great option. Walked here one busy afternoon, and I must say it was worth it. Really close to Palo Alto clinic and the VA Hospital but along a very congested 2 lane road. Why does the mention of Korean BBQ make one salivate? Korean BBQ goes well together like Peanut Buttah and Jelly; a great combo indeed. Speaking of combo, we came here for lunch after shopping at IKEA in Palo Alto. We we were famished so Wifey checked the iPhone again and up pops this place. Just the mention of lunch combo meal just feels like your getting a bang for your buck. Tucked in a nice, quiet neighborhood in the Peninsula is a little shack with an outdoor patio deck. It's hard not to miss it since its painted a bright yellow and red bricks surrounding it. It kinda reminds me of a Lego building. There's plenty of parking in their private lot or street parking. The gentleman behind the counter was uber friendly and the lady (I believe the wife) made us feel like we were visiting their home. Yeah, you can say they were super nice. Since it was a nice day, we decided to dine Al fresco on their patio deck. Wifey ordered the Chicken BBQ & Short Ribs combo with Brown Rice, Kimchee and Salad. I ordered the Pork Ribs and Sausage combo with a side of Garlic Toast, BBQ Sauce and Coleslaw. Kid had the Pork Ribs and Sausage combo with French Fries, BBQ Sauce and Garlic Toast. Yeah, it was a combo mambo kind of day. The ribs were satisfactory and the BBQ sauce and sausage had a nice kick. It wasn't fall-off-the-bone tender, but it satiated my hunger. The kid finished his meal and no complaints as usual. Wifey being the "petite" eater that she is couldn't finished her plate so the kid and I tag-teamed on her combo plate. Yup, we did the combo on her combo. We enjoyed the experience and even though the food wasn't outstanding, the service more than made up for it. They use Korean black rice (purple in color), which is known to be high in nutritional value! They also give a generous portion of salad.
