There were a few side dish choices too. We got the Yangnyeom flavor for fried combo of drumsticks and wings, as well as Tteokbokki. The wings/drumsticks were crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Yangnyeom flavor was sweet but paired well with the chicken. We got medium hot and it only had a very light hint of spiciness. The Tteokbokki portion was quite big and it had rice cake, fish cake, cabbage, and two dumplings. The sauce was slightly spicy but flavorful. Our cravings were satisfied. I purchased the lunch special and $2 upgraded to "wings" and I received 3 drums and 2 wings, only for the store to double down and say that the drums are part of the whole wing so it's considered a "wing?" We came here because Vons Chicken on Branham Lane Closed. The menu here offers Fried Chicken. No Crunch Chicken like the other Vons locations. Also, the menu Clearly Does Not Mention Any Sauce for the fried chicken. (See photos) And the cashier did not mention any sauce. But the Fried Chicken was coated in a glaze/sauce which is not at all what we wanted or expected. It tasted fine but I would not order it again. The cashier did not understand why the sauce missing from the menu is a problem. The store was clean. The service was otherwise nice. But this is not the Vons like the other locations. read more

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet - but here goes. I've been ordering from Vons Chicken for at least a couple of years and this is my favorite location. It's on the way from work when I go home, so it's also a convenient location as well. I usually order ahead and it's ready when I get there (10-20 mins, depending on which chicken I order). I've tried most of the flavors and my favorite is the spicy yangnyum - it has a good amount of heat, but it's not overpowering. I also enjoy the fries - cheddar, honey butter and sweet potato fries. I usually go for extra crispy and every single flavor has been great. I love how the flavor is infused into the chicken and every bite is delicious. The fries could be crispier, but that's my preference - they are good as is. Service has always been quick and friendly when I've picked up my order. I've never ate in the restaurant, but it seems like a good place to chat and hang out. Every time I've been here - people are sitting around and seem to be enjoying their meals. We got the extra crispy. The mandu was OK. If I ordered this again, I'd get it without any sauce or sauce on the side. The tteokboki was meh. Way overcooked, not enough veggies or spice. I know I shouldn't compare it to something you'd get at a sit-down Korean restaurant, but I was pretty disappointed it couldn't even compare to street-food level. Checking in and ordering at the kiosk was fine, the service was fine. But one thing that was kind of an issue is the lack of parking. The parking lot was bustling on a Sunday morning, but I was literally the only person in this restaurant. The ambiance was a little "Logan's Run" spooky. I think given any other circumstance, I would probably skip this entire shopping plaza, and go get a Popeye's down the street. read more

Just yuck. We love Korean style fried chicken, but given all the positive reviews for Vons, maybe there are different styles and we weren't aware (and we've eaten at many places). We ordered the honey crispy, the garlic cruspy and the oven baked with Vons sauce. The Honey one (I assume) tasted like circus funnel cake on chicken. It was gross...I just spit it out. I can see how someone might like that, but the texture and flavor tasted cheap and fake. And the skin was a light flaky crisp, not the "traditional" double fried crispy taste. I just want to warn others that if you like BonChon or similar style, you will be disappointed by this. It's like expecting chicken and getting fish (sweet fish)....bleh. The oven version was okay, but it too tasted like fake/cheap sugar. I will say the chicken itself was quite tasty. I was hungry enough to pull off the outside and eat some of the chicken and it was good. But never again. read more
