They have lunch specials during the week with quite a lot of choices. It comes with sweet and sour soup and your choice of entree with rice or noodles, along with an eggroll. Food is served hot and come out pretty quickly. In general, their food is more like Americanized Chinese food and taste decent. Service is ok. The decor is old inside. Came here for a quick weekday lunch. Ambiance is decent, nothing fancy. They have an expansive lunch menu similar to other Chinese restaurants with all the usual favorites. They serve a spring roll and a soup with the lunch plate. They had hot and sour soup the day we went, I didn't fancy the soup much. I infact couldn't complete my bowl, it was way too sour without any complimenting flavors. The spring roll was freshly fried and pretty large. Though the portion size is for one person the quantities are very generous and can be shared or boxed up for later. We got one plate with garlic chicken and chow mein and another with fried rice and Mongolian chicken. The chow mein lacked wok hei and felt a bit fish saucy. Lock Chun has become my family's favorite Chinese food restaurant. Their food is delicious and their prices are reasonable. In addition, they have proven to be very honorable. I would like to highlight my most recent experience with them. I had placed an order over the phone and paid with my credit card. My son picked up the order and hadn't realized I had paid for the food already and paid with his card. After we had started eating at home I got a call from the restaurant. They caught the mistake and wanted to let me know they will reverse the second charge. My son never mentioned he paid and I assumed he just picked up the food. We might have never known the mistake. They didn't have to call me that and could have easily played ignorant unless we called to complain. The fact that they took it upon themselves to let me know really says a lot about them and they have solidified us as loyal customers for as long as they stay in business. Thank you! read more

Food here is amazing! We got the egg rolls, Mongolian beef and chicken chow mein. The eggrolls are probably the best eggrolls I've ever had in my entire life. They tasted so fresh and were so crisp. You can tell they literally just made them as we ordered them. Mongolian beef was very yummy as well, also just very fresh. Great taste great flavor. And the chow mein was amazing. I was looking for a place to eat while my car was being serviced at the dealership across the street. I walked in 10 minutes before the lunch special was ended and was warmly welcomed and seated quickly. I asked if the chicken with spicy garlic sauce was the same as General Tso's crispy chicken. The waitress said that it wasn't, but she would have the chef make what I wanted, even though it wasn't a part of the Lunch Special menu. The hot and sour soup arrived first and was very warm and tasty. Soon after, faster than I expected, the crispy saucy chicken, fried rice and spring roll arrived and everything tasted AMAZING. My personal misgivings aside, I had no qualms with service or value as staff interactions were quite friendly and the lunch special is a pretty good deal for the quantity of food. Parking wasn't too hard to find and it's situated near a convenient crossroads, so good for a quick meal during errands. Lunch specials covered your standard fare of Chinese dishes, but my go to for testing the waters has always been twice cooked pork. Specials come with a spring roll, soup, and serving of chow mein/white-rice/fried-rice. Twice cooked pork - 3/5 Decently good amount of food for the price, but generally pretty salty without too much depth. Ended up having to drink a lot of water to compensate for the saltiness. Nothing particularly special in terms of quality or preparation, but nothing terribly amiss either. Flavor is definitely more Americanized than not, as the hot and sour wasn't spicy at all. Not using pork belly added to the dryness, and needed more umami with less sodium. Absence of bean paste or heat was quite noticeable. In our household, it's a tradition to grab some American-Chinese food on Dec.26. We don't have a special place we go to and sometimes some of our experiences end up in disappointment. Luckily, and thanks to Yelp recommendations, Lock Chin did not disappoint. There is plenty of parking in the shopping plaza, but the restaurant itself is on the small to medium side (maybe around 10 tables). Walking in, we saw 4 other parties seated (guess we all had the same idea). There was nobody at the reception area but a woman quickly emerged from the back and seated us right away. I was craving sweet-sour pork and when I spotted it on their lunch menu, I was sold. The lunch comes with soup of the day, egg roll, your choice of rice/noodles and the entree. With prices averaging around $15, that's a steal. Soup of the day happened to be one of my favorites: hot and sour. I was surprised by how generous the portion was and by the amount of ingredients in this "free" soup. Usually you will find one bamboo shoot and maybe a strip of tofu, but this was stacked. Honestly, I would come back just for this soup. I ended up getting my pork with friend rice. The pork was juicy, the batter had the perfect amount of thickness to keep it crunchy (even drenched in yummy sauce), and the portion was big enough to take home. The fried rice was great too. I was super happy and satisfied. The egg roll was pretty bland and I probably wouldn't order it as an appetizer, but since it was free I can't complain. This place is in the Woodhams center plaza (easy to spot white and green sign). Parking was 80% full on Friday at noon. The restaurant looks really clean and nicely decorated with art on the walls. We ordered lunch specials which came with a soup of the day was hot and sour soup with firm tofu and small sliced vegetables. The included spring roll was crispy and flaky with only cabbage inside as far as I could tell, and the sauce that came with it was very sweet and had wasabi on the side. 1. Sweet and sour pork with fried rice: The fried rice was more like plain rice with bits of carrots, egg, and peas, but the pork tasted great overall although some of the pieces were a little chewy. 2. Beef with Chinese barbecued sauce: Definitely not what I was expecting as far as Chinese BBQ goes (I thought it'd be like the same sauce on Chinese bbq pork) but overall the slightly sweet sauce paired well with the beef and assorted vegetables.
