Khanh's has been my favorite Vietnamese restaurant for years. They used to be on Winchester Blvd, and at first I thought they were closing but they just relocated to Hamilton Ave. It feels like a family owned spot, and most of the staff are warm and welcoming. My absolute favorite dish is the grilled shrimp and BBQ pork with rice sheet wraps, it's outstanding. Their appetizers are good, and the egg rolls are especially delicious. The beef soup is also solid and comforting. You can tell this place has a loyal following many of the customers seem to be regulars, which really adds to the cozy, family style atmosphere. I ordered from door dash so maybe that's the issue but the photo on the menu showed a large bowl of soup .. when it arrived there was no broth.. only a tiny sprig of mint.. and I also ordered egg rolls and there was no sauce for those , no napkins or utensils. I thought I was ordering pho and there was no other herbs such as mung beans etc. I called the restaurant and they said what I ordered was a combo plate but I told her the photo is of a large bowl of pho.. DoorDash refunded me partial refund. But I was very disappointed as I wanted soup. Also no sauce or utensils etc.. also the noodles did not have a lot of flavor. not sure I'd order again. I loved everything about this restaurant from the moment I walked in. There is a beautiful faux terrarium thingy when you enter. The feel of the restaurant is old school in a good way - it is spacious, has clean restrooms and has really good service. No self-serve here. We got the fresh rolls and the lemongrass chicken. The rolls were indeed very fresh! The chicken was okay-ish - it was just chicken and nothing else but it's probably supposed to be that way. We'll try the other dishes next time. read more

11/15/2025 came here for dinner w friends The inside is very spacious and has a cozy vibe. all the staff were friendly and welcoming. ordered spring roll (friend), fresh rolls, Ginger aromatic chicken, and chocolate mousse. Fresh rolls and spring rolls were both amazing (2 for $7.25/ 4 for $11.25/ 8 for $19.25) Fresh rolls came with peanut and fish dipping sauce. A little sad that a lot of the fresh roll was bean sprouts and not noodles. Feels a little cheap. Spring rolls containing veggies inside was fantastic. Piping hot right out of the fryer. I could not get enough of it. Definitely worth the try for first-time visitors. I tried the ginger aromatic chicken this time $16.75, which came with rice and a very very small bowl of veggies that I think lack sauce. The Chicken on the other side was very flavorful, slightly dry. Lastly, the dessert was a surprisingly good finish to the meal. Always great to dine here. read more

A nostalgic restaurant for many Vietnamese Americans, Khanh's Restaurant more recently opened up their new location in Campbell, replacing the well known location in Santa Clara/San Jose near Valley Fair. The vibes are just as similar as the previous one, with cozy chairs and tables and a room dedicated to larger parties. For our large group of friends, we ordered many dishes, including a soup dish that included tomatoes & pineapples, crispy chicken, spring rolls & egg rolls & shrimp chips, and a few desserts including a delicious but slightly too sweet chocolate mousse. The food came out in a timely manner even with our group, and they gave plenty of plates and utensils for the food we all shared. We stayed a bit past closing time, and they were quite accommodating of us and gave us gentle reminders. I like this new Khanh's location! read more

We visited Khanh's Restaurant during the holidays and had a really nice experience. This is comforting Vietnamese food that feels familiar and well made. The fresh rolls and egg rolls were the highlights. The fresh rolls were do it yourself style with rice paper, thin noodles, nuoc mam sauce, fresh mint, cilantro, and vegetables. The texture was great, chewy with a fresh crunch from the herbs and veggies. The egg rolls were just as good and came with vegetables for wrapping, making each bite feel balanced. These dishes alone are worth coming back for. We also ordered the bo luc lac, which had very tender filet mignon with bell peppers and onions, savory with a slight sweetness. We added sides of rice, which paired well. The clay pot catfish was sweet, savory, and flaky, a solid choice if you like fish. For drinks, my daughter had fresh squeezed orange juice, and I had the iced Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was smooth, perfectly sweetened with condensed milk, and not burnt. I would definitely order it again. The holiday decorations were a nice touch, with Mr. and Mrs. Santa, a festive window display, and a photo booth in the waiting area. Shout out to John Huynh of One Snap Photo Booths for the fun setup. We were seated quickly, given an extra chair without any fuss, and they even took our to go order early. Clean and simple Vietnamese restaurant. I was curious about this place and thought we'd give it a shot. Upon walking in, the restaurant is really big and spacious. Plenty of seats for large parties. There are definitely a lot of regulars here. The staff seem to know all the patrons and their regular orders. The staff are really friendly and attentive. We ordered a sampler of appetizers which were all delicious. The shaking beef which was tender and flavorful. And a crispy egg noodle dish. The plates are a more on the pricier side (considering it is in Campbell), but I am curious to try the other dishes! Overall, it's a on the "fancier" side of Vietnamese restaurants in comparison to a lot of the OG places in east/south San Jose. Khanh Do Attitude Locally-owned mom-and-pop restaurant that's been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the South Bay for nearly forty-five years (1981). They've moved around quite a bit over the years, with their last location being on Winchester Blvd across from The Row. This current location (±3yrs) is at the old Carrow's (RiP), and is well-suited for them and their clientele. The Good: *Private parking lot, as well as street parking available. *Great service and not at all like your typical ESSJ Viet restaurant, where they rush you thru and treat you like garbage. *Private party room available (min 25 max 40) *Nothing says class like smooth jazz in the background. :) *Booths!! I friggin love booths. :))) *Bottled beers (nothing fancy) and wine *Fresh Rolls (aka Gỏi Cuốn) were fresh and tasty, and I liked that they gave you options and price breaks on how many rolls you want (2,4, or 6). My only complaint was the dipping sauce wasn't the typical peanut sauce but soy sauce and a handful of peanuts thrown in. I mean it was fine once I added some Sriracha and hoisin to it, but still a bit odd. *Vietnamese Beef Stew (aka Bò Kho) was delicious and one of the best renditions I'd had in a while. The broth had a nice deep flavor and all the veggies and beef were cooked to perfection. My only complaint was I wish it had more beef, but that's always my complaint. *oink oink* :8) *Speaking of the Bò Kho, I got the more traditional baguette to go along with it and it was phenomenal. I'm not sure if they make it on house, but it was a very good baguette. I bet their bánh mìs are fantastic. *Carissa loved their Ginger Chicken (aka Gà Kho Gừng) as the chicken was cooked and seasoned nicely and the dish was filled with great ginger flavor. The Meh: *No outdoor dining The Ugly: *I saw a few reviews on here stating that the food isn't "authentic" (whatever that means) but that's pure horseshit. Combined, we've eaten at dozens of Vietnamese restaurants throughout the country, so while we might not be the arbiters of what's "authentic" and what's not, I think we know anglicized cuisine when we see it--and this ain't it. I order from Khanh's about 2 times a week I'm hooked! I always order the same thing (Ca Ri Ga). It's chicken breast in a curry liquid. I don't want to call it a stew because it isn't. It's like a broth almost and not super spicy just perfect! I get it with rice. My mom ordered the lemon grass chicken and loved it. I personally don't like lemon grass flavor so I didn't try it. Tried Khanh's for take out for the first time last night and it was delicious. The fresh rolls with pork and shrimp were the best I've tasted. So light and fresh. I was concerned because there was no peanut sauce, but the sauce they included was delicious. It was like a sweet soy sauce. Also ordered the shaken beef with rice. OMG. The beef was cooked perfectly. Flavorful and tasty. I can't wait to have it again. The final item was the won ton soup. It was good, but a little on the bland side. I added roasted garlic seasoning from my kitchen and it tasted much better. I highly recommend Khanh's. On an added note, I ordered my food through DoorDash and the dasher arrived on a bicycle! I recently came here for a friend's birthday dinner with a large group of 30 people, and was honestly impressed by how quickly they were able to accommodate us, only a couple of hours after calling to book! The staff were friendly and service was so efficient, especially for such a large group! Menu features a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes, and we ended up ordering a few to share. The pho bo, bo luc lac, and fresh rolls were definitely my highlights of the meal. I also ordered the pho ga, and while I really enjoyed the chicken, the broth was a bit too salty for my liking. We joked that this might be our new "go-to" spot for our group and would definitely recommend to those looking for a place to book larger parties! read more

Well it's been almost 4 years since my first review of Khanh's at 150 E Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008, so I felt I better do an update on this clean, well maintained restaurant. Yes, I have been a regular here and have been treated as family by the owner's and all the staff. I know everyone by name (except the Chefs, as they are in the kitchen working). The service is ALWAYS First Rate and the food is amazing! My favorite is Beef Macaroni (not a Vietnamese dish but was served to their family while growing up), Asparagus Soup, and the Bánh mì. Everything else they serve is outstanding (yes I've tried everything on the menu). I do want to address the few poor reviews related to its "not authentic" Vietnamese food. Khanh's ABSOLUTELY serves authentic dishes. I've had them with my Vietnamese friend who picks the dishes out. Some other dishes may be Americanized, which is fine by me. The fact is before Khanh's I did not like this type of food. Why?-I found the food at other places I tried were heavily salted, noodles mushy, meats dry and the fried rice greasy and tastles. Khanh's has ALWAYS been perfect. Their fried rice is the best I've ever had. One other thing I learned was they specialize in hosting events in their private room. I had 3 events there of 30 guests and they did a fantastic job. The service was so professional and the Chefs made sure everyone was properly fed. Recently, they have started food specials that change each month. They are incredible, such as Coconut Milk Soup and Fried Filled Won Tons-Yum! It is a family restaurant with ocassional free special events such as visit Santa and Mrs. Clause. (Talk about children waiting in long lines). Khanh's usually has a lot of customers during lunch and dinner so get there when they open. I STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant as it is my favorite place. read more

I've been meaning to do this for a very long time. Today is the day. I'm in Silicon Valley today. This a must when in Campbell. I'm here at Khanh's Restaurant at Noon today. Bò Nướng Xả is very nostalgic to me, I remember every Holiday or get together celebration, there was this dish. And they do it slightly different here, this is a grilled Rolled Lemongrass Beef with Tomato Fried Rice. I like how they also do it contemporary style. I think I like this as much as Bò Nướng Lá Lốt, or Dolma. And what I'm used to, is this being made with Turnip, the same Turnip in Bánh Mì Gà Xíu Mại. Everything was exceptional, it does taste authentic, and flavorful. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.3/4.4 stars out of 5 stars. read more

I've visited Khanh's several times, and I keep coming back for the spring rolls! We always get the pork and shrimp set for two, which lets you build your own rolls. The portion is generous--enough to make about 12-15 rolls, depending on how much filling you use. We've also tried the banh xeo and the beef stew. The banh xeo is crispy with a light coconut flavor that pairs great with the meat, shrimp, and bean sprouts. The beef stew is hearty, and the rich flavor of the beef shines through, especially when enjoyed with the French roll. While we've ordered other dishes like the rice plates, I found them a bit underwhelming compared to other Vietnamese spots in town. That said, the service is always friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly, which is a big plus! read more

We got here at 11 on a Saturday but I guess they weren't expecting anyone that early because we waited outside for 5 minutes. We ordered the beef noodle soup (pho, $17) and the Super Combination 1 rice plate ($19.50) which consisted of 2 egg rolls, bbq beef onion roll, bbq chicken, fried rice, and a side salad. The side salad consisted of a few pieces of lettuce (and possibly shredded carrots, but I can't recall) and came with a separate bowl of diluted fish sauce. The meats here are tender and well-made with great flavor. Pho broth usually tastes the same (as do the thin rice noodles) so the meat really stood out (for both of our dishes). Egg rolls were nice and crispy but not burnt. The fried rice was fairly average though - a little bit oily and faintly salted. Overall good portions and great food. Sadly I did find two short pieces of hair right on the plate and well as in the salad bowl which may be a deterrent for some people. read more

Came here on a Thursday for lunch with coworkers and there were a good amount of people here. The interior gives off diner vibes. Service was quick and friendly. The uncles who served us were so sweet! They had a lot of items on the menu including pho, hot pot, family style dishes. I didn't know what to order so decided to copy my coworker and get the grilled shrimp & BBQ pork noodles. Being vietnamese and having tried this at multiple restaurants, this is definitely the best one i've had at a restaurant. The noodles had a good springy texture and didn't get soggy sitting in the fish sauce dip. BBQ pork was soft and seasoned so well. The shrimp were super jumbo - I think they were prawns? I did wish their fish sauce dip was a little saltier. It was watered down and not very fishy (this part might've been a good thing since i went back to work after this lol). Also I wish they'd use green lettuce instead of iceberg. Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and it was the perfect portion! They do everything so well. The food is spot on. My son loves the shaken beef. My dad (he ate there a couple times a week for well over a decade -- and I joined him many, many times) loves their chow mein, pork vermicelli, and they have this seafood soup dish served family style that's incredible. You always have to get their fresh rolls. The banh mi sandwiches and pho soups compete with anyone's. I actually found myself wistfully thinking about their aromatic chicken the other day. It's so flavorful and delicate. But what's particularly amazing is that their food isn't the most spectacular part of the experience. Of course it's the service. Khoi Dao and his wife Anh Tang opened the restaurant, and they both made a point of being incredibly gracious in every manner. Sadly, Khoi has passed, but now their daughter Mary is running things and she's keeping the tradition of amazing food and service. I'd guess a good percentage of their customers visit as much for the delicious food as they do to visit with their friends: Mary, Anh (still working and marvelous), Trinh, and John (the last two are relatives who also make every guest feel like family). I love their new location and really appreciate the garden decoration, curated by none other than the fan-favorite "Uncle John." I always get the Bo luc lac (filet mignon) and it's truly dynamite. The pho (soup), banh xeo (savory crepe), and pork dishes are excellent. They have great rolls of all types, and wonderful desserts. The menu appeared diverse, but some of the items like the egg rolls and fried rice looked and tasted like fast food. The flavoring is off in terms of being authentic Vietnamese. It leans more Chinese in terms of actual food. I tried the ginger chicken, and thought the portion was small. The side salad came with a bland vinegar sugar dressing. I think this is the spot that used to be on Winchester. The place has prettty good flavors. The veggie on the rice plate is hilarious. 2 pieces of carrots and 1 broccoli. The best value was the pork and shrimp noodles. You make little wraps with the items. Vibe is very casual. Service is great. Parking is easy with a private lot. Overall: I recommend this place for Vietnamese food if you're in the area and it hurts to say this but the rice dish was very underwhelming. I'm gonna give this place another try when I'm back. This might be my new favorite spot for Vietnamese noodle bowls! I had the chicken bowl and my fiancé ordered the pork. The noodles were perfectly tender and everything just tasted super fresh. The spring rolls were super flavorful and the dipping sauce was perfectly balanced. Mary is just the sweetest, and the rest of the staff was so friendly and FAST! The noise level was pretty low, so it was just the right atmosphere for our dinner date. We will definitely return. read more
