We started off with the Char-broiled Oysters. OMG, so tender, fresh and yummy with a lovely butter/crumb mixture. We had 3 Boils: 2 Tiger Shrimp; one with garlic butter, one with Voodoo Experience and Sausage. Both were delicious, shrimp perfectly cooked, potato creamy and tender, corn was sweet and fresh. Both sauces were YUMMY! Crab Fried Rice: Was fine. My least favorite. The crab tasted like it was from the can, but the person who ordered it liked it. Side of collard greens: these were SO good. I've had collard greens so many times that were so overworked and mushy. These had texture, were seasoned just enough and super yummy. For dessert we shared the bourbon bread pudding. Meh. This was our least favorite part of the meal. The bread pudding was mushing and too sweet, pretzels had a little crunch and salt but ok. Drinks were fab, but the margaritas were a bit small in size. The only thing that was a bit sus was the gate keeping of the cornbread. At first, I had asked if it was on the menu, and was told no, then I saw some brisket special that included cornbread, the fabled cornbread indeed existed, and let me tell you, it was worth the effort. "Lord knows I'm a Voodoo Child baby" Any restaurant that serves Krazy Straws gets five stars off the bat. Friday night, my wife came home late. I'm thinking we missed happy hour and every place is jammed packed. I head straight to Voodoo Crab hoping we can still get in. The hostess says you can wait 20 minutes for a table or I can seat you outside in one of the igloo. Interesting. Well call me an Eskimo, we're in! My best suggestion, don't wear Rayon, Silk or Cashmere. You're gonna get a wonderful, splashy fish dish. I had sauce splashed everywhere! First, drinks are needed. My wife orders a Coconut Margarita made with coconut tequila and I ordered the "Fire-Rita" made with Jalapeno infused agave syrup. Both drink were mixed perfectly, kudos to the bartender. First time here and we want to order a boil. The meat choice offerings do sound intriguing, grilled two pound Tomahawk as well as a Korean marinated Rib Eye? Wow! The boil concept is very cool. Each boil comes with corn cobs and potatoes. Now add any fish you wish. This dish is similar to a New England Clam Bake. You can add Lobster, Clams, Calamari, Shrimps (Both heads on or off) Mussels and Snow Crab Legs. You can also kick up the sauce heats from mild to wild. I'm with my wife, so spicy is not in my future. We chose the garlic butter with a mild heat. Now any boil in my humble opinion must have Andouille sausage. In the boil it goes! You can adjust this boil anyway you want, the fish choices are 1/2 pound or 1 pound. My boil choice is the lobster (about 1 1/2 pounds) Heads on Shrimp, Green Mussels and Andouille sausage. The boil comes to us very quickly. Think of an Uncle Bens boil in a bag rice. Our waitress opens the bag and out pours this beautiful seafood mixture. The part that amazes me, everything tastes fresh. I had in my head all the fish and vegetables would be a soggy mess. This is so not the case at Voo Doo crab. The lobster is what made me scream on the inside. Cooked perfectly, I was tearing into the lobster like nobobys business. Cracking the claws to get at the sweet, briny lobster meat. Insane. The shrimps were cleaned, I hate overcooked rubbery shellfish. I'm telling you this was a perfectly executed platter of fish. Also, the corn! So fresh and sweet, amazing. I was a little nervous ordering for the first time, should we order soups or appetizers? I hate to under order. For two people, what we ordered was very plentiful. The potatoes, corn and the andouille sausage add to the boil. If you're looking for a fun place with great cocktails and freshly made seafood, Voo Doo Crab should be your dining choice. last night my partner and I went to voodoo on a date night. While looking at the menu I saw they had king crab, and i was super happy. The waitress comes and tells me that it is $95lb. which is incredibly insane knowing other seafood restaurants is no where near that price. so due to the price shock i decided to go to the other route and order crab fried rice. and i have never tasted anything so disgusting. the fried rice smelled and tasted like the spoiled sea. I immediately had to spit it out, to the point it ruined my appetite of eating, i literally sat there and waited till my partner finished eating because i couldnt take a bite. There are indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor tables are in igloos. For indoor seating, the tables are separated by plastic on one side and spacing in between. The lighting is low light to give ambiance. Music playing can be a bit loud but it can prevent you from hearing your neighbor's conversation which is good. We order: - Baked Clams (6) - $11.00 - sizes ranges from mid-size to small clams. - Voodoo Chicken Wings - $9.00 - it's piping hot so be careful when you first dig in. - Kobe Sliders (2) with Fries - $10.00 - a bit messy to eat though it's good. - Oysters (6) - $11.00 - very fresh - Marinated Kimchi Steak - $24.00 - surprisingly delicious - Boiled Calamari with voodoo sauce - $7.50 - they might want to have a mix for a set price since 3-4 items can add up very quickly and would be too much food for 1 person. I was pleasantly surprised by this seafood restaurant! I had never been to a voodoo crab before but were in the mood for some seafood the other night. We checked it out with our friends and we all ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. I ate most of my fish and chips which were crisp but also flakey on the inside as they should be. There was a bunch of small strips of fish in this dish instead of your typical 3 larger filets at other restaurants. I liked their version better because it was not overwhelming and it allows for easily being able to share. I highly recommend coming to this location with a group of people and all ordering different dishes so you can share and try the whole menu! We were in the Home Depot, down the road, and after finishing up some purchases we decided to head to the Arby's down the road for lunch. Pulling into the parking lot I notice, out of the corner of my eye Voodoo Crab. Hmmm I didn't know they were there but they serve one of my loves, Seafood Boil. A quick left turn and I'm parked right in front. Turns out this is there second day open. Yes I love this type of food but we Must support a new business. They offer outside seating but we chose to sit inside. They follow all of the COVID 19 protocol with masks, social distancing, etc. The lunch menu is somewhat limited but Snow Crab and Shrimp is perfect for me. My wife has the same but different seasonings and heat. I will say the wait was long but for their second day, understandably. We noticed a couple of friends there so that helped with the time. Ok here it comes a triple cluster of snow crab and ... wait a minute, I'm supposed to get 6 shrimp but there are only 5. Don't mess with me when it comes to shrimp. This could mean war, but our waitress was very sweet and remedied my shrimp fiasco very quickly. I went to voo doo after getting my nails done next door. The service was great and we got the blackened fish , white wine mussels, backed claims and crab 1lb boil. I usually get a boiled for myself but my sister and I split it and it was enough for us that night. The mussels came out cold and when I went the first time they were not. Might just have been this location. Was not my favorite. The backed claims are not the your grocery store claims. They are tiny and I recommend asking for the white wine sauce to top them. Soo good! The boil was boiling and very yummy. I got the Juicy Cajun sauce I believe. Loved it they should sell sauces separately. All in all we enjoyed and I would come back. I was very excited to eat at this location. I always go to the massapequa location. This was my first time at Centereach. I should have known it was gonna be a bad night from when I walked in and was just looked at without being greeted. I had to say a table for 2 please. Then we was seated in the middle table which was tiny. I could barely fit and not to mention my husband. I asked the waitress if we could wait for a booth and she looked at us with a blank stare as if I was speaking another language besides English. Then said " Oh there's the bar" At that point I wanted to leave but it was date night and didn't want to drive out to the city so we stayed and went to the bar. That when we meet our bar attender Cassidy. Cassidy is the only reason why I gave this place 2 stars. She was funny and entertaining and made great conversation. I ordered my usual which was the wings, shrimp and crab leg boil. My husband ordered Ribs and garlic noodles. The wings and the boil did NOT taste like want I normally order in Massapequa. The potato and corn was even nasty. Later on that night, my husband was sick. I am assuming from the ribs. What was suppose to be date night, ended up being a disaster with an upset stomach. A Long Island gem I was lucky to find one night looking for a good seafood spot, low and behold Voodoo crab surprised me and my boyfriend immensely!! I was very excited to see there was a cajun restaurant in our neighborhood at first. The food we ordered was great, we all enjoyed it. However, my disappointment was in what the menu didn't have. As a cajun place I was expecting gumbo and étouffée, and they weren't on the menu. Those are traditional cajun dishes. It's like a Cuban restaurant not have Cuban sandwiches. Also as was mentioned by others, the place is VERY loud, where it's hard to have a conversation; you wind up yelling over each other. It was a whole lobster. I chose the garlic butter sauce but ended up dipping it in my husband's jambalaya sauce. We started with little neck clams and calamari. Yum! REALLY great food, Snow Crab Legs were amazing, the chicken wings didn't even need sauce, they were big and delicious. The Kobe steak was so tender and perfectly cooked. The Merlot wine was delicious as well. One of the nicest things was there was no special charge for the Igloo, which most places are charging up to $100 extra just fir the Igloo, which to me is highway robbery. Our waitress Dominque was absolutely terrific, great personality, personable and made sure we were always taken care of.
