Not a bad place to get a drink, crawfish was flavorless...standard fried bar food is better bet here. Service wasn't great. Waitress took maybe 20 minutes to get us (party of 4). Then didnt come back again for another 30 min for food order...she was just standing in the corner looking at her phone. Two of us ordered and she walked off and we had to chase her down for the other two orders. Multiple tables in her area had to go to bar to order their drinks because she wasn't around. Just because you show some skin and act cute, doesn't mean you don't have to do your job. She got 10% tip and that was overly generous. Scalawags is a better bet in the area. read more

I have been here before with friends. Yesterday I went to Kemah with my mom and my little sister and her sister(both girls under 16). We went to grab lunch and let them ride some rides. Welp it's spring break and there was a two hour wait at most places. I told my mom let go to Voodoo, the pizza is the best. We walked and and met MANDIE. She had the biggest smile on her face. She went out of her way to make the girls laugh and smile. We ate on the patio and the girls played jenga and hoola hoop. If I could give 10 stars I would! The entire staff from the patio to inside were amazing!!! We had the crawfish at an exceptional $4.99/lb. The sauce was amazing, the crawfish were huge! The decor is so awesome here!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! There are so many fun things to look at here! The design to this place is outstanding! It truly lives to the "voodoo" theme and would definitely take any horror fan here to get a drink and enjoy the scenery. The only thing that grossed me out was one of the bartenders had her hair down and that sh*t was getting everywhere. About 4 to 5 bouncers throwing around and siting on a man who seems like he had too much to drink. First off it's the bars fault for over serving him. Secondly they were sitting on kneeling on him. I know he had trouble breathing. The police came and arrested the drunk man but they should of arrested the bouncers as well. I got told to shut off my camera and even threatened by a worker inside. Then after I walked out they made sure to try and block my video footage because they know that they're in the wrong and don't want the public to see them torchure this man. This isn't the end. We frequent Skallywag's next door (same owners) quite often and we have dipped in to Voodoo before but never during crawfish season. It's a little early in the season but holy crap they nailed it. Large outdoor area with socially distanced picnic tables. This place oozes cool and the crawfish were very very good. They came with a garlic butter that set everything off. If you're in the mood to play corn hole or pool, you can venture out to the game section. Food wise, you can't go wrong! I got the Chicken Italiano, and it was delicious!! The onion strings were definitely an added bonus, so make sure to add them to your order. Their burgers, pretzels, and hotdogs are good choices, too. He would play good music to start every song then completely ruin it with the same repetitive house music EVERY. FUCKING. SONG! Love this venue for its positive vibes and amazing outdoor space. The Kemah Lighthouse District is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to visit! The Voodoo Hut is a great place for a night our or just for hanging out on a Sunday afternoon for a football game. The deck is festive and nicely designed, and so is the indoor area. The service is good, and so is the food. The prices are reasonable and we always have a good time here! Once my boyfriend tried to get in and cause he didn't get in cause he didn't have a belt and the people in front of us didn't have a belt and got in. Also I came and had heels without a back and he said I couldn't come in because I didn't have a back but my friend came In before me and had the same type of shoes on and didn't have any problems and got in. My friend committed suicide so I thought I would start my night off having one beer an some food here. Because of my speech impediment I stuttered about which beer I wanted and the bartender Garrett walked away from me. Shortly after, the Manager came over (Rachel I believe) and asked me which beer I wanted, which at this time I knew what style of wheat beer I wanted. Immediately when she went to go to grab my beer, the bartender whispered something to her and all of a sudden they would not serve me. It was brought to my attention that my "hesitant" response which was due to the bartender having no patience, resulted in them refusing to serve me food. Mind you I am a respected security guard and local who just lost their friend and the workers at Voodoo Hut discriminated against me because I stuttered. Completely ruined my experience going there. Voodoo is fantastically decorated with all Voodoo related posters and Knick knacks as if you just stepped into a New Orleans voodoo store. This is a very casual bar where you should consider sandals or sneakers so as not to stick your heel in the decking. The inside is cute and small but the real party is out in the deck. Where you can find an array of bar games like Jenga, giant connect four, and classic cornhole. I did not eat while there but I noticed there was a food truck parked in the way back.
