I have been around for many years and in that time I have purchased several cars, new and used. I've dealt with car company dealers, private used car dealers, and private individuals. In all of those transactions I have never had a more positive experience than my recent dealings with Yuriy at VSTAR. When a car dealer encourages a third-party pre-purchase inspection, it is a good sign that they are dealing in quality vehicles. When they prep a car beyond cosmetic issues, it is a sign of a conscientious dealer. When they willingly provide CARFAX and Experian Autocheck reports, you can be confident they are not trying to hold anything back. You may be able to find a cheaper deal that will cost you more in the long run, but if you want quality up front for a fair price, I would try VSTAR. A few years ago I looked at a car that was offered by a large dealership on the "main drag." I was also going to check out a similar car at VSTAR, but nobody was in the office at the time. Also, the lot was small and tucked away on a side street. I bought the car from the "big dealer" with the large inventory of new and used cars. Big mistake. The sales person I spoke with was very professional so we made an appt to see the truck. We were very impressed that the 2013 Honda Ridgeline was in great condition. We looked around the truck and it looked good just like the photos. It also drove nice. Gino made us feel very comfortable. Not pushy, answered all our questions even asked us if we saw the minor (small) bumper damage on the truck which we did not. He wanted to make sure we knew as much as he did about the truck. Yuriy and Gino are a great team and made the used car buying experience a pleasure. They were very responsive to make an appointment to view a car they had advertised on Craigslist. First, the car was exactly as described in the ad and in the pictures. No surprises. Yuriy just gave me the key and allowed me to examine the car at my leisure. No salesperson standing over you telling you how great the car is while you're checking it out. Taking a test drive was just as straightforward. Seriously low pressure experience that's very different from what you might dread going to some used car dealers. After I was done with my drive, I said thanks and was able to leave with no hard sell. I did my research that evening and found the car I was looking at, a Honda Ridgeline, was VERY fairly priced, so I did the deal the next morning over the phone. I would give 6 stars if I could. I bought a 2002 Audi from Yuri after test driving and even having my mechanic inspect it. Transaction was smooth but on my ride home the car had a mechanical issue and I had to pull off the freeway. Yuri met me on the side of the road, had the car towed and fixed by his mechanic. It was just a water pump that failed at the wrong time. He then delivered the car to me! He could have ignored me since I already bought the car but he did the right thing and took care of me. AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC OUT OF STATE BUYING EXPERIENCE I live in Portland, Oregon, and found a beautiful Mercedes on Craigslist SF (or maybe East Bay), and at a very good price.I called and talked with Yuriy. He was friendly and was happy to take the time to answer all the initial questions I had about the car, including if it was ok for me to have it checked out at a Mercedes repair shop of my choice (my dime, of course). He said he would be happy to have that done, which right there is a very positive sign about the integrety of the business. He also found a transport company that would ship the car to my door for $550. And because it was getting shipped, rather than me picking if up, I didn't have to pay California sales tax. He also sent me a copy of the title and the Carfax report. I found a good repair shop (European Werkstatt), and Yuriy was happy to take the time to drive it over there for the inspection. The inspection found only one small problem ( a vacum valve in the trunk) and the mechanic at VSTAR fixed it the next day. I then decided to buy it, and Yuriy overnighted me the paperwork. I sent it back the next day along with my check. While the check was clearing, Yuriy arranged for the trucking company to pick up the car. Once the check cleared it was on the truck within two days and and getting unloaded in front of my house the day after that. Yuriy kept me updated by text, email and phone every step of the way, including several pictures of it being loaded onto the truck. He was always friendly and helpful, and was happy to take the time to answer any and all questons I had. After finding their listing on Craigslist for the car I wanted at a great price, I messaged Yuriy to take a look and go for a test drive. He works by appointment only, but was not a problem finding time after work to take a quick stop. The location is on a small street, which is easy to miss. The car was parked right out front of a few small offices on that parking lot, one of which was his shop. I was able to greet him and he let me take the car out for a spin. He answered my questions with a complete no-pressure approach through the whole process. He was happy to let me take the car out to get an inspection to a shop of my choice, and the car was clean inside and out. The price he was quoting was excellent considering the perfect condition of the car and the prices I was looking at on Craigslist and KBB. The paperwork took some time to complete, but in the meantime he was pleasant to talk to. Apparently selling cars locally is something he does on the side apart from his main business, which is importing/exporting cars to different countries where certain models are not directly sold to. That explains why he doesn't have multiple cars for sale out front or why there was no pressure to buy. I would call him again when it comes time to purchase my next car. read more

Highly recommend this dealership. Initially found the car, 2015 honda accord hybrid, on craigslist. It looked to be in very good condition at a great price. I was coming from south bay - Yuriy was extremely responsive through text/phone and flexible on timing, so I made a same day appointment. Gino helped me in person and I appreciated his straightforward, non-pushy attitude. They both seemed very honest. They did not budge on the price, but it was already priced well (less than other similar craigslist options I saw). What I appreciated most was that I inquired about a trade-in for my old car, 2006 Range Rover Sport. I had just taken it to carmax before who offered me a low 4k. When I declined at carmax, the response I got was essentially "good luck you probably can't get much more than that." Gino offered something slightly higher, but he prefaced it by saying I should not take the offer and that if I sell privately I would easily get more money. He explained dealers aren't looking for rangerovers and will all give me low offers. I really respected this as he was trying to do what was best for me rather than try to get me to take a lower offer. I ended up selling my the car through craiglist within a week for 2k higher.
