I was deeply disappointed by my experience with Keystone Motors. As a first-time used car buyer, I could have done more research about purchasing used Teslas, so some of this is on me. But Ziad seemed like a pleasant, knowledgeable and trustworthy person so I went on that. Unfortunately he left me feeling taken advantage of. Ziad misrepresented the Tesla I ended up purchasing in multiple ways. He first listed it as the more expensive 'Performance' model, but it was actually a 'Long Range' model. Secondly, and more critically, Ziad assured both my son and me that the car came with Tesla's Autopilot feature. We explicitly described - three times - in person and on the phone - the functions we expected from Autopilot, particularly its ability to follow the speed of the car ahead of it at a set distance. He assured us every time that the car had Autopilot and it was a deal-breaker for me. When we went for a second test drive, he had a car parked in front of the Tesla to gum up that plan. I should have insisted so I could test for the Autopilot, but I'm sure he would have told me that it wasn't working because of the "three-day waiting period" to get all of the functions to operate fully or some BS like that. That was only one of the excuses he gave me for Autopilot not working properly after my purchase. I trusted him to be honest with me and knowledgeable about the car he was selling. After the transfer of ownership was finalized (which happened in minutes, not days as Ziad said it would take), we were blindsided: Autopilot would actually cost an additional $3,000. Calling Tesla confirmed that fact. When we approached Ziad, hoping to be able to return the car, he said he doesn't take returns. Upon further discussion, he said that California law wouldn't allow him to take it back - a BIG LIE. He then continued, saying he's a small business and can't afford to take returns. And on, and on... We also asked for him to pay for the Autopilot he promised us. Nope. Hoping for a reasonable solution, we were met with resistance and an outright refusal to accept a return or address the misleading information. It's disheartening to see such deceptive business practices, especially when making this significant investment. Unfortunately, I signed an "As-Is" contract, so Ziad had the right not to take the return, but we hoped that he would - in order to uphold his honor as a reputable and honest business person. So he doesn't take returns - if he was misled or didn't have knowledge about the car, as a first-time Tesla dealer he should take whatever loss he would suffer from taking the car back as a learning experience instead of just refusing any type of accommodation for MY loss. FWIW I offered to take the loss of the registration fees. Buyers beware. read more

I purchased 2004 VW Touareg here and I want to share my experience with you. Please be careful when you have to go and look cars from this place. Cars seem OK, but there must be something that the dealer is not telling you. Of course, you can buy cars here but do not believe what Ziad, dealer says. He is a just dishonest sales person to deceive his customers who want to get his or her vehicles. Don't loosen your mind because he is doing things for Syria. If you feel sorry for people in there, bargain every penny out of him and donate that money to some organization, but not to him. When you spot minor issues, he will say those are not a big deal and you can replace them with some amount of money later. I strongly recommend you not to skip those little things. Total some will be immense if you look for the genuine parts and also, you will waste your time to find right parts. Check the every fuse, electric parts like audio. My audio doesn't eject CD out and fuses of two 12V outlet are melted and I couldn't spot when I got it. He will say he is running his business over 20 years. He will tell you that the car is running smoothly. And after the test-drive you will be kind of convinced about it. And then when you sit in front of the table for the paperwork, he will try to sell insurance that covers defects of the car. Because he will not tell you everything that you need to know at the first sight. If you decide not to get the insurance because it is a hefty amount of money, he will blame you for not purchasing the insurance that he recommended when issues are coming up after you get the car. When something comes up, he will tell you that he didn't know about it. Mine was leaking from the sunroof and cut rear middle the seatbelt. He told me he didn't know. If he truly didn't aware of the issues, he is not professional enough to run his business, and if he knew it then he is not honest. I will not complain more because at least, my car runs well with a cut seatbelt, water stain, some mildew, water running sound somewhere inside of the car and wasting my time, money and temper. In a nutshell, you can get a car from here but never pay all the money he asks. ======================================================================== Today, 1/17/2017, I am updating my previous review of 12/13/2016 based on the facts that what happened after leaving the previous one. One of the major reasons that pushed me to update my review was that Ziad actually tried to be helpful to solve the issues after my review. I don't know he changed his attitude because he read my review or not, but he actually arranged a mechanic, Antonio and let him fix the leaking sunroof problem and also he sent me a new seatbelt part with saying he was ready to give that to me but he hadn't because he didn't like the way I talked to him. I was relieved and thought "hmmm maybe I will update my review and give one or two more starts later." Until Ziad threatened me that he would take legal action to me over my review on the Yelp. Recently I need to exchange my tires on my car and I found wheel lock key is missing and my wife asked Ziad if he has one because we knew Ziad once changed one tire of my vehicle before he sold it to me. It was okay that he lost wheel lock key somewhere even though I have to get one full set with the additional price of $99.99 plus $45 for labor to remove existing wheel lock. But after the conversation about it, he texted that he would take legal action because he thinks my mentioning of Syria is a separate matter with selling cars. I do not agree with him. I didn't bargain the price because some of the money that I paid would do good things for Syrian people. And I know that there are some people who think the same way that I did. To make the long story short, if you decide not to bargain the car price with your good will, you don't need to. There are hundreds of another way to help Syrian people. I wished to give one or two more stars to the Keystone Motors but I cannot anymore. And this makes me very very sad. ========================================================================= Mr. Ziad. I should remind you that you first sent me to the wrong place and wasted my time and also you first tried to let me pay for fixing seat belt issue. Just purchased my 2004 Saab 9-3 convertible from Keystone Motors in Walnut Creek after just selling my 2006 Volkswagen GTI. Ziad is the business owner and sole salesman for Keystone Motors. Office is really a bare bones business space with no computer nor printer for the documents of a sale and DMV registration work. The Saab was advertised on Craigslist and I went down to take a look at it. The car was really dirty both exterior and interior. Ziad was very nice and explained the details of the Saab and its quirks/issues which were at first daunting when considering the cost to repair the individual issues. Ziad gave me the name of a independent shop with whom he sends a lot of business to repair or maintain his cars to ease my concerns. He also mentioned a shop where I could get the car detailed and and another shop where the upholstery could be repaired. So, we haggle back and forth and settle on a fair price but not a knock you socks off kind of a deal. So, why the three stars? Other than the indie repair shop, Ziad never gave me the phone numbers for the detail shop nor the upholstery shop after calling me and telling me he would text the phone numbers to me. Also, when completing the contract work, just the total price was written on the legal size document and I had to sign it five times. Just a bit odd and did not make me feel comfortable with the hand written process. Bear in mind that this has nothing to do with whether he is honest or not. Only time will tell when I receive my DMV pink slip. All in all, Ziad is a nice guy trying to run an honest business. Ziad should follow through with information he stated he would send. I bought a 2003 Toyota Camry from him with what one would say is high mileage but it was a desperate time in my life and just needed to drop $5K and get a car and keep moving... well if just like to say a couple months ago Aug 2020... I sold that 2003 Toyota Camry with 323,000K miles for $3000 because when Ziad sold me the car he assured me I'd have no issues. He had put money into the engine after it got to his lot and I believed and trusted in him because he's just straight forward and direct with fact and information about the vehicles he sells. I would definitely refer a friend ;.) (as I did!) and I'd buy another car from him when and if I had the need in the future. When buying a used and or new car everyone should know some issues may and will come up to force one to maintain a car. They need to be taken care of. My cousin purchased a car here and within days of purchase it blew a head gasket. When we took it to the mechanic it was obvious that a head gasket leak stop product was used to hold it together just to sell it. The owner Ziad Aljamal was not receptive to our phone calls and let us know it was not his problem. We had left the car on his lot and he immediately threatened to tow it. He was not receptive to any communication. After further investigation I learned that he has had complaints before for selling damaged vehicles. I bought a Audi A6 from Ziad the brakes were squeaking when I asked him about them he said he had a safety check done on the brakes, so 4 days after I buy the car I go to a family function and the car over heat and I have to leave the car there for 3 days until I could get it towed to the shop, I find out that the water pump was no good, I call ziad and he say it was a as is sale nothing he can do about it, 3 days after I get both water pumps fixed I have to get the front and back brakes and rotors replaced by now I'm out of over 1500 dollars and I haven't even received my pink slip for the car yet. three weeks later the oil sensor goes out I have to get that replaced that's another 500.00 dollars for parts and labor, I go to the shop that ziad recommended and after he work on the car lights comes on and he tells me that those cars are sensitive there's nothing wrong the light will eventually go out, but remember I said I had no lights on before start ziad's friend worked on the car, but now there's 3 lights on and this car is turning into a money pit, don't want the car anymore but don't want to sell someone else my problem... I say that to say this everyone who gave a good review are lying or one of keystone motors family members or friends because all of his cars are lemons...
