Last week, I found myself stranded on the freeway during morning rush hour, stuck in the far-left lane with nowhere to go. While waiting for HPD, cars flew past me. With no safe place to wait, I sat anxiously in my car, fearing that approaching drivers would not see me in time. Skylar was able to find a vehicle I could agree on with an affordable price. The cons is the vehicle does need a bit of work to be perfect , but again it's a used cheap vehicle.

Now they told me I gotta spend another $2400 to fix the same problem. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company. BEWARE!!! Driver…read morebeware when using Hui in Hawaii. Today, Oahu was under an extreme flash flood warning and Route 83 was completely shut down in both directions by the Honolulu Police Department due to unsafe conditions. We sat in standstill traffic for nearly two hours before officers forced everyone to turn around. We then had to drive completely around the island, sitting in another several hours of traffic just trying to safely get back to Waikiki. I contacted Hui immediately to explain the situation and ask for flexibility on our return time since this was clearly an emergency situation and completely outside of our control. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes to finally reach an agent, I was told that even a police-mandated road closure and severe flash flooding "is not their problem" and that I would still be charged additional fees if the car was returned late. Let that sink in. An active natural disaster, closed highways, and police forcing drivers to turn around apparently do not qualify for any level of customer accommodation. The lack of empathy and customer service was honestly shocking. Emergencies happen, especially in Hawaii where weather and road closures can change rapidly. Most reasonable companies understand that safety should come first. Hui apparently does not. If you choose to use this service while visiting Hawaii, just understand that if an act of God happens, you may still be fully on the hook financially no matter the circumstances.

We just left the family home in Kailua when we heard a horrible grinding noise. We couldn't figure out what the problem was but we knew we couldn't continue to drive it. We called everywhere and no one could come out, either they were intoxicated or just didn't want to work on a holiday. I get it, everyone has a life and ohana is important. However, this is too common in Hawaii, these guys only come out when they want. Thankfully my husband found RJ's Towing. This young braddah was very professional, very kind, and came out in less than an hour. He carefully hooked up the car and towed us back to our auntie's house. The cost was very reasonable considering he had left his ohana on a holiday to save our okoles. I would absolutely call RJ's again should I ever need a tow. In case you were wondering what that grinding noise was, it was a damn seed. A teeny tiny seed that had somehow managed to get lodged between the brake pad somewhere. Our neighbor found it before we had made an appointment at the auto shop. Talk about being saved twice in a day. Lol!
