EVERYTHING from start to finish...almost! Most importantly, they repaired my Father's car - which was an extreme repair - 100%. They identified that we had a warranty to use. Which ended up covering the Extensive cost. The repair was completed around their estimated date, maybe a day or two early. They were easy to work with. The ONLY thing I was a little sad-faced about was that my car broke down on the way there, about 3 blocks away. They weren't able to help me roll it there or push it or whatever, so I did have to pay to have it towed, 3 blocks, make laborious calls to get a tow, and then wait for the tow. It was not quick. First of all, their website says they are open on Saturdays, so we drove over an hour and half to look at a vehicle only to find it was closed. Then, we scheduled a time to come look at the vehicle on the next business day. When speaking to one of the associates to set up the appointment, he was rude, condescending, and literally asked "how do you plan to pay for this?" insinuating that because I was from a neighboring county, I couldn't afford the vehicle. And then, while traveling an hour and half (again) to go look at it at our scheduled time, he calls back and says that he already sold it. I spoke with Mr. John Reyes, the internet/fleet manager, about transferring my 2 Ford Bronco reservations over to their dealership. I wanted to get away from the higher volume dealership that I currently had my reservations with. I have done a bit of research ahead of time, and Ford dealerships are required to honor 2021 Bronco reservations up until March 19th, 2021, which is the deadline for converting reservations to orders. Well, John stated that he would not allow me to transfer my reservations to the dealership because my orders would subsequently bump people who were already reserved at the dealership. Ford explicitly allows for reservation holders to transfer their reservations to their dealership of choice, and thus convert those reservations to orders before March 19th. So John is specifically denying me the ability to transfer my reservation, which goes directly against Ford policy. The experience of buying a new vehicle is already stressful enough as it is. It is very disappointing to get brushed aside by a sales manager who is clearly violating Ford policy. I have forwarded the emails to Ford Corporate. Hopefully Ford can enforce their policy with others, so people don't get brushed off like I just did. I would stay clear of this dealership. If they are willing to violate policy this blatant, who knows what else they'll do. read more

Recently my check engine light came on and so I scheduled to take it into Sanderson service shop, which I usually do because I like that they are not some big Santa Rosa dealership shop. Come to find out that one of my O2 sensors needed to be replaced. They replaced it and I picked it up and 2 days later, my engine light came on again. Brought it back to the service department and they checked it out and said it was another O2 sensor. So left it there all day and when I got the call to come pick it up, the service manager Ron let me know they replaced it for free. Apparently they had replaced the wrong one before(total accident) and out of curtesy, they replaced the one that needed it for no charge. Now think about it, they could've easily said another O2 sensor went out and changed me another $800, but they didn't, and I wouldn't have been the wiser. They did the right thing, they were honest and stood behind their work. I am extremely pleased that a company did this and that they didn't take advantage of the situation. read more

While traveling from Orange County CA north, a light came on my dashboard saying that I needed to replace the battery in my car (or so I thought). I called a local auto parts store that said they had a replacement battery for $200 but they weren't able to install it. I then looked Ford up dealerships which led me to W. C. Sanderson Ford. Best Service Department ever! Excellent communications - called when the parts were in and kept in touch until I was able to take my F150 truck in for the warranty repair (due to Covid travel was restricted so I had to delay the appointment a couple of months). Promptly greeted me, called when the work was complete (4 hours earlier than promised!) and quickly delivered my repaired truck when I arrived. When I arrived, they placed protective coverings over the seat, floor mat, AND steering wheel - no fear of any greasy fingers! Due to the Covid health directives, they also sanitized the interior. The service folks (Amy, Ron and Marilyn) were from a different era, when a dealership service department cared about its customers and offered excellent SERVICE, not just parts and work. I made an appointment a month ago (that's how far out they're booking) to service my car and to fix a recall. When I showed up today, the rudest and most condescending person tried to check me in. He knew nothing about the recall and told me it didn't matter anyway because there's no way he could do the service and recall in one visit. Then he wanted to charge me for service when I purchased a service contract with the car. When I stated I wouldn't pay for service I was told "then we're done before we start". He refused to speak to the dealer where I bought the car to get verification. Seems like the computers were down. So I left, car not serviced or recall not taken care of. The guy laughed at me as I left. So much for supporting a local business because they certainly aren't welcoming their community. I called the dealer where I purchased the car and was told to come in right away and they'd have everything done in a couple of hours. So, after going to Sanderson for more than 8 years with my various cars, I will no longer be their customer. read more

We took our car into Ford for an oil change. Per the usual, they run a general diagnostic on the truck and we get a receipt at the end confirming everything is good (or not). We received the all clear, then two days later we are stranded on the side of the road with a dead battery. We were told by AAA that if the test was actually run on our battery like the paperwork suggested then the dealership would have noticed our battery was not up to par. Super disappointing that yet another dealership is running a shady business lacking honesty and respect for their paying customers. Steer clear of this Ford location folks. read more

If I could give this Service Center a lower star rating I would. Immediately after my warranty period expired but while still under a service contract I brought my 2012 Edge to this dealership for routine maintenance. I was told once the service was completed that my power steering line was leaking and would need to be replaced. They didn't have the parts and it would take a few weeks to get on the schedule. The estimate was $500. I was skeptical that there really was an issue as there was no indication (in liquid level or performance) that anything was wrong. When I had it serviced again at the original dealership (Towne Ford- Have never had an issue) they confirmed there was no issue. WC sent me a customer review survey and needless to say I gave them a negative review but outside that did not give any other reviews. A few months later I decided to give them another shot as they were conveniently located. Maybe it was a bad diagnosis, who knows. I needed an extended warranty repair done on my vehicle. I asked if they had the part in stock or if it was something that is readily available, Cheryl couldn't answer but we set up the appointment anyway and she indicated a Tim would be calling me. Tim then called me and indicated that because I had given them a bad review he didn't want to service my vehicle. He then went on to lecture about how long he has been in business and how highly rated his service center is. Well, if you run off anyone who ever gives you a bad review (privately on their own survey) it's not hard to believe how they keep their high rating. They sure love to fill my mailbox with unsolicited mail every week despite not wanting my business. I called the other local dealership (Hansel) and was able to quickly and easily set up an appointment, they told me how long it would take (same day and yes they had the parts), and walk me through what I was experiencing with the vehicle to confirm if the problem I was having was covered by the extended warranty. I also called Ford CS to make a complaint. We'll see what happens with that. In short: Poor customer service, limited parts inventory, and untrustworthy service. read more

I recently bought a truck from a guy in Healdsburg. Before I purchased it though, I wanted him to have a large oil leak taken care of. He took the truck to Sanderson Ford and it ended up costing $1800. Well, shortly after I purchased it, I noticed a puddle of oil under the truck. Seeing that parts and labor were covered on the receipt for 4,000 miles or 3 months, I took it back to Sanderson. At first the service guy told me that the warranty was only good for the person who paid for the work, but he quickly reassured me that he would try to go easy on me. They had the truck for 5 days which was really starting to make me nervous about what might be going on with it, so I called. They told me they had a really hard time locating the leak, in fact they never found exactly where it was coming from. But they replaced all the gaskets again and then a few just to be safe. And then he told me, "And as of right now, there is no charge." Wow, no hassle, no debating, not even any charge for replacing a few extra gaskets that they had not replaced before? Much less expensive than any of the local service centers and first rate service. In and out in less than hour. Very personalized honorable people working hard to make sure the customer is satisfied. They are a total breath of fresh air in the car world. They made the buying process so easy and quick. No one pushed us for extra stuff, coatings, extended warranty, service contracts. We started looking in May 2017. We found the truck we wanted here at WC Sanderson Ford. No negotiating on their part in price. They would not budge, but we ended up buying it. Our sales rep was an older gentlemen named John. My advice is don't deal with or WC Sanderson Ford Ford. Go to another dealership! They wanted to sell us on an extended warranty which, we smartly declined, but it was our understanding that we would re due free oil changes up to 36,000 miles. When I called to make an appointment I was told that was not the case and I should have purchased the extended warranty. We were very disappointed! Tim Sanderson refused to provide service to my daughter. Her car was part of a Class Action Lawsuit and buy back. We no longer lived near the dealership the car was purchased from. Ford Corporation did all the buy back paperwork and sent us to W.C. Sanderson Ford for the buy back. Ford Corporation sent all the paperwork and Check to the dealership. Tim Sanderson refused to do the buy back paperwork, stating he did not want to be bothered nor spend the time doing it. He was rude and at one point said he was fed up. He refused to send the check back to Ford Coproration so we could go to another dealership for the buy back. The case worker for ford Corporation stated Tim Sanderson was noncompliant. He delayed the buy back for almost 2 months and we were stuck with a car that was not reliably working until he finally told my daughter to come get the check and take it to the other dealership who was more then willing to help us. I am a very unhappy Ford Customer and Tim Sanderson only provides selective service to his choice customers. Expect to be discriminated against if you are not a long time local white male. read more

Beware of the Service department. Tried to overcharge for a oil change. Took my truck in for a oil change with a coupon and was told the coupon did not apply to my truck since it was a diesel. I pointed out the coupon said diesel was included but would be extra. They tried to charge my $85 extra for the additional oil. That worked out to $10 a quart or $ 40 a gallon extra. I try to use local service since I just moved to the area but it appears going to another dealer in a bigger city will be my next stop. Unfortunately for this dealer they have not only lost my service business but also my new car business as we are in the market for a new crossover but will not be looking at this dealership. read more

I would NOT recommend buying a vehicle OR using the service department at this location. Without going into detail of our experience, we purchased 2 vehicles from them and there is zero commitment to follow through on owning up to problems with the vehicles.
