DO NOT SHOP AT FREEMAN TOYOTA! DO NOT BUY ANY TOYOTA HYBRID! If I could have wrote ZERO STARS I would have. I recently bought a 2026 Camry that is a HYBRID. I never in my life had issues with Toyota vehicles. But the hybrid model unfortunately had a recall once we reached around 5000 miles on it. And the worst part is due to the hybrid engine and it could cause loss of power while driving which is dangerous and unsafe to use the car, and even worse it could cause a fire which is dangerous and both issues could result in harm to me, my family or to other innocent drivers on the rd. I told them about the recall and they said they don't have a remedy and will let let know when they do but it should be in the first quarter of 2026 (January-March) which has passed. So they wanted me to drive this car feeling unsafe and stressed out because I'm anticipating issues with the car. But I told them I don't feel safe and because it's a safety issue they gave me a loaner. I guess the loaner was only set up for 30 days or so and I couldn't make it to renew the loaner and brought it back a week late. So they said they can't loan me anymore vehicles. I just live about 2 hours away and was not going to be in the area until a week after the date they wanted me to come in. So I came in to renew the vehicle and the 1st quarter of the year is basically over and still no remedy/way to fix our brand new car. And they wouldn't renew the loaner so they forced me to take the defective Camry they sold me or I would have been stranded. It is now almost May and other issues arose. Such as Infotainment system/screen going black while the car is on. And a jerk when the car goes from hybrid engine and the gas engine starts. I had my wife contact them to see if they would give her a loaner but they refused. And said they will look into the other issues when they have a remedy for the recall (that was supposed to be resolved I the first quarter). So they have us driving and paying for a car that we feel unsafe in, and can literally catch fire while driving. But we have no choice because they refuse to replace it. Corporate said the issue doesn't warrant a replacement?! But I hope nobody ever buys a hybrid car from Toyota. I know I won't be. I might never buy another Toyota to be honest. But the rental car department manager acted like I was trying to steal the loaner. The service manager doesn't like to get back to you, and also the salesman David who sold me the car stated he is going to look into it and get back to me but I have not heard from him since. This has been going on over 3 months or so. I don't wish this on my worst enemy. We're literally paying for a problem, and to use a dangerous/ unsafe vehicle. DO NOT SHOP AT FREEMAN TOYOTA! I'm a very loyal customer, which is why today's experience at Toyota Auto Parts service center was really disappointing. I had an appointment scheduled for 1:40 PM for two services, expecting a smooth and timely visit. Unfortunately, I waited over 25 minutes just to be acknowledged. There were about 6 cars behind me also waiting, and no one came out to assist or even communicate what was going on. After about 10 minutes, I asked an associate when we would be helped. They said they would get someone, but it took another 15 minutes for anyone to show up. During that entire time, there was no explanation, no updates, and no sense of urgency. Because of this delay, what should have been about a one-hour appointment turned into at least an hour and 25 minutes. I completely understand that things can get busy, but a simple acknowledgment or communication would have made a huge difference. As a loyal customer, I expect better organization and customer service. Hoping this was just an off day, but it definitely left a negative impression. read more

Overall, I would give the service experience a 3 out of 5. The service itself was completed fairly quickly, which I appreciated. However, I did have to ask for a car wash, and unfortunately, you could clearly see how dirty the vehicle was when I received it. I would have appreciated the vehicle being cleaned without having to ask, especially after bringing it in for service. I bought my car here, have had prior great experiences with the service department. Today I came in at 11:40 for a part. There was only 1 man working the desk. I later determined he was on a call. He never acknowledged me, smiled, nothing. He got off the call an immediately went into the back. I was invisible. I next asked at the service reception if anyone else might be working service. The young woman shrugged "maybe at lunch?" I returned to the parts desk. I brought my vehicle to the Toyota dealership in Santa Rosa, CA for a service appointment and unfortunately had another disappointing experience. Prior to this visit, I had already had a negative interaction with a specific service advisor. I called the dealership ahead of time to explain what had happened and clearly stated that I did not want to work with that advisor again. I was told this would be noted. To avoid any issues, I booked my appointment online and selected a different advisor. Despite this, the same advisor I had requested not to work with was assigned to my vehicle anyway. This was extremely frustrating and made me feel that my concerns were not taken seriously. If a customer clearly communicates a request and is assured it will be handled, that request should be respected. The lack of follow-through reflects poor communication and customer service. We called at 10am, left a message, no return of call. Called back 11:15 actually talked to a person. OPPs! we have no technician today that is capable of doing the service on your car. Really ? I've always had a really great experience here with both the sales and service department. In sales they are fairly strict with pricing and are not willing to cut much of a deal like other dealerships in the area. They are also no bull, know their stuff, and can clearly communicate information asked which I appreciate! I didn't buy my car here because I got it for a better price elsewhere but I do take my car here regularly for service. The service is typically quick and painless. They will get you a lyft if you can't hang around for the hourish service but I typically bring my laptop to work from the service center while I wait for my car. It's usually great. Today I brought my car in for service 5-10 minutes before my scheduled appointment and had to wait 20 minutes to talk to anyone. Then was told it would be a 2.5 hour wait past that for an oil change and standard check. (without tire rotation) I'm 37 weeks pregnant and needed to get the service before my baby is born and asked if they would honor my appointment time and was told no. I'm feeling quite crummy but was told I'd have to wait because they had overbooked. I asked to borrow a car so I could finish my errands and was also told no. I was told I could have a ride home and back while I waited so I took them up on the offer. When my car was ready I called to have them book me a car per their instruction and was unable to get through. I called 6 times over a few hours before I was able to reach them to retrieve my car. Given the experience I will probably stop coming here for service and will go to my local shop. This experience was overly painful in a time when I'm feeling vulnerable and its left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Didn't quite find what we were looking for but Isaac was so helpful with doing research on inventory and sending us what he thought we would be interested in. It took a few months and we reserved it. He kept us informed throughout. Truck finally arrived. It was not exactly what we reserved based on pictures, but once in person it was beautiful. We took it for a drive and Issac explained all the various features. We ended up buying with no dealer up charge which was awesome!! The finance part was painless. Click here, click there. Freeman Toyota's service has really gone downhill. Now I know why friends and family drive down to Hanly in Petaluma. Here's just one example of how bad Fteeman's service department is: They notified me that my Tacoma had a recall to replace a faulty part under the back seat. They told me it would take 2 to 3 hours. It's a 4 hour round trip to the dealer, so I asked if they were sure it would be ready if I waited. They assured me that it would take just 2 to 3 hours. Based on that I scheduled the recall work. But two hours into the work, my service advisor informed me that the repair requires welding and painting in a body shop. They offered me a comp rental car, but it was disappointing to hear that it would take another day or two to do the work. So I drove the two hours home and waited. And waited. And waited. They've now had my Tacoma for almost a full week and it's still not ready. I've had to reschedule a project I was working on because I didn't have my truck. And after all of that, my service advisor got smart with me and began pushing back and making up BS excuses instead of profusely apologizing. I then asked him to notify Freeman's Service Manager of the matter. It's been 7 hours. You'd think the service manager might have reached out to apologize. Nope. And still waiting for the truck to be finished so I can do another 4 hour round trip to pick it up. I could share other examples that would tick off the most loyal customer. But I've already wasted too many days dealing with Freeman. Avoid Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa at all costs. read more

My wife went in to purchase a running light bulb replacement for our Toyota Sienna. She told the parts guy 3 times it was for the running lights. When she got home to install the bulb it was for the signal indicator. So frustrating to have to go back now and get the correct bulb. Not the first time this has happened. I wish I could give 10 stars! I cannot say enough good things about my ENTIRE experience purchasing my new RAV4 at Freeman Toyota. In finance, I worked with Beejan, who was fantastic. He explained everything clearly, helped me understand all of my options, and made the paperwork part of the process quick and easy. I really appreciated how transparent and professional he was. Again, it felt like I was dealing with a friend. What I would consider the most stressful part of the car buying process was somehow made so simple and comfortable thanks to him. I was previously in a lease with Hansel BMW. Let me tell you, the service I received from these 3 men at Freeman Toyota in the last 3 days was far superior to any service I EVER received in the 3 YEARS I was with BMW. Has anyone else had to wait months to get a Toyota TrailHunter Jack? I keep calling but they just keep saying it's on order with no arrival date. I purchased a 2025 TrailHunter from Freeman Toyota and they let me order the hard Tonneau cover and waited until after it arrived to tell me it doesn't fit the TrailHunter. I ordered the Prinsu Roof rack specifically for the light bar cutout but they installed the Toyota branded Prinsu rack that does not have the light bar cutout and refused to return it for the one I paid for. I ordered the WeBoost and rather than install it, they just left it in the box and said they didn't know it needed to be installed. I will never buy a vehicle from Freeman Toyota again. Worst experience ever. Still waiting for my Jack after 3 months. read more

TL/DR; Poor customer service, terrible communications, overpriced, sketchy practices. Brought my car in for a coolant leak in the catalytic converter heat-exchanger. My mechanic diagnosed and advised me that it was probably under warranty and to take it to a dealership (he did not charge me). It took me about 8-10 calls and 3-4 VMs over the next couple weeks to get someone at Freeman's service department. I finally got someone and scheduled my car for Mon (Dec 16) @ 7:40AM. On check-in, the service rep indicated that they would need to charge me A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS for diagnostics unless it was under warranty. Annoying, but this doesn't quite rise to the level of "sketchy". Just PREPOSTEROUSLY EXPENSIVE. He also mentioned a wiring harness recall and asked if I wanted that done, too. I said yes and went home expecting a call later that day. I wait until ~4PM and finally called. Turns out my car would not be ready that day. NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL AND INFORM ME, NOR DID THEY HAVE ANY PLANS TO. I was told it was a defective part and under warranty, but the part was on backorder, and it would 1 week AT THE LATEST (Dec 23). I requested a loaner. The service rep needed to check. I receive a callback from the rep telling me it was a recall and didn't qualify for a loaner. I explained the reason it was there was a mfg defect, not a recall (the recall work was their recommendation and already done). He needed to check again. When he got back to me, he made the same argument and was unable to explain why. I asked him to have his manager call me for a better explanation. I waited. FYI, Toyota's Transportation Assistance Policy is a benefit of owning a Toyota product. It adds value. It is an expectation that the dealership follow the policies of the program. This is not just me feeling entitled. No callback from the service manager that day or the following. ~3PM the next day I called and the rep gave me the same story. Even if the part was part of *a* recall, it was not one I was informed about, and a "super-secret" list of repairs they could point to and say "recall, no loaner" was ABSOLULTELY SKETCHY. I asked him to have his manager call me to discuss this. I never received that callback. The next afternoon, I contacted Toyota to get clarification on the policy. They opened a case and said they would look into it. Lo-and-behold, about an hour later, someone from Freeman called. They determined I DO qualify for a loaner (2.5 days after drop-off). This was NOT my rep OR the manager (or they didn't identify themselves as such). It felt like the dealership was sandbagging to avoid/delay giving out a loaner. SKETCHY. I picked up my loaner. Neither rep nor service manager showed their face. Then I waited. Mon rolls around. Nothing. It's the holidays, things get delayed. I cut them some slack, but call and leave a VM to get an update. No callback. Dec 27th I get a call from Toyota Corporate. They spoke with the dealership and the expectation was the car would be ready in LATE FEB OR EARLY MARCH. Yet that didn't qualify as important enough for Freeman to contact me. The case manager Said they would try to get the part expedited. I waited. Jan 13, I get a call from Freeman... it was the rental department. They do loans/rentals in 30-day chunks. I need to come in and renew. A pain, but at least their rental dept is on the ball (hence two stars). I went in and renewed. Neither the rep nor the manager bothered to show their faces. During this period (Dec 18th - Jan 13th) I received SEVERAL check-ins from my case manager. They're the BEST. Sat, Jan 18th, Freeman calls. My car is ready. No heads-up, so I could plan. Apparently I'm supposed to be at their beck-and-call, as they would start charging me for the loaner if I didn't show up that day. I picked up my car. Neither the rep nor the service manager bothered to show their faces. The service department fails at the most fundamental jobs of basic customer service and communication. The service manager's lack of communication is INEXCUSABLE and COWARDLY. read more
