Wow, first time here and incredibly impressed. Hot, fresh, never frozen and very healthy. Great portions and you ca truly taste the quality in every bite! Being a restauranteur myself I can truly appreciate this concept and all the hard work that's gone into it. It's not always easy to maintain the quality of food that has to be delivered daily to keep it so fresh. Customer service was perfect; greeted me upon entry, explained the menu and concept in detail and made sure I was completely happy. Make sure to ask for Sunny the manger and he's sure to take great care of you. This is by far one of the best stops you can make traveling up or down the 5 freeway and I just found out they have 135 other locations from here to San Diego! Decided to try this place a few times - and i really enjoyed it tbh. They offer a variety of healthy options with "WaBa sauce" (it's like a teriyaki spice blend or something) along with a meat, rice and/or veggies. Simple and tasty. A nice surprise just off the freeway! This place reminds me very much of a Flame Broiler. I think the value here might be a little better. Food is up to par, but probably not as great as Flame Broiler, but the portions and selection are definitely better. Eminem once said, "you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow" and unfortunately, Waba Grill blew it. I had never been here and because I wanted to switch it up from the usual "on the road Panda Express obligatory stop" and eat "healthily," I stopped here. They have a sign saying "we are not fast food because our ingredients are blah blah blah" okay fine. I order the Waba Plate and the guy working goes "do you want veggies and avocado?" I said "this is my first time here, do those come with it?" "Avocado costs $1.75" Sure! Why not! Go for the gusto. I'm waiting for like 15 min and the people behind me get their food first. I hate when that happens. I ask "is that plate coming?" And he says "plate right? It's coming up in just a minute." A few more minutes go by and he goes "you got the bowl right?" "No...I got the plate." "No you got the Waba bowl. You wanted veggies right? Veggies only come with the Waba bowl." As a first timer, of course I should've known this!!! The bowl had been sitting out for a while with no one claiming it, so I had to take it regretfully because patience is not my strong suit. Ate in the car while driving because I had to make up for the extensive wait. My life was in jeopardy!! And to top it all off, the food wasn't even good. Portion was tiny. Tasted like a small step up from Yoshinoya. I'm probably biased because of my experience, but I thought it was very very mediocre. I appear to be an anomaly, so hopefully you have a good time. Excellent place worth of try . I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food . They have health food with good portion . I had shrimp plate with brown rice which comes with salad and fruit . So I am usually very tough on my critiques, especially to places of business where time is of the essence but I have to give it to this place, they've definitely gotten a good 5 stars out of me. Excellent service, excellent prices and excellent food. I made a pit stop at this place for the first time on my way back from a business trip and even though they have a sign that says "be patient, this is not a fast food restaurant", their food was not only fast to be served, but of top quality as well. During my wait, several different servers checked in to see if I was comfortable or I needed something, and the manager (I think her name is Nune) even threw in a complimentary side order because I waited a few extra minutes. Everybody was so nice here and so accommodating to me...I wish this location was closer to where I live because I would definitely be a regular customer to this place!! I am typically not a fan of chain restaurants, but this WaBa is really good. Employees seem happy and are very nice, they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the experience. The food, happily, is very delisiously concistent here. I love their kale salad...they cook the salmon very well...time after time. The food here is healthy, not greasy, very flavorful and reasonably priced. This WaBa has my stamp of approval if you want to eat a delicious, healthy meal. read more

This place has amazing food and is a great deal!! Thank you sonny for catering to my dietary restriction and being an awesome manager. someone with a severe food allergy like me, it's often difficult to find a restaurant that can cater to my need. When I called this restaurant to ask them if they added black pepper to any of their food they said that it would be easy for them to create a meal for me without it. The man I spoke to was the boss and said just ask for me when you come my name is Sonny. So when I got there he asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted some awesome grilled chicken with steamed broccoli well done no black pepper. He was able to accommodate. We were greeted warmly by the cashier. My friend had never been so the cashier took the time to talk about WaBa Grill and their style. We ordered and received our food in a timely manner. It was so yummy!! And no feeling of regret since it wasn't something unhealthy that is sometimes the only option when you're on the road. The place has a drive-thru for those that don't have the time to sit down. It was very clean and comfortable in the restaurant. Some drinks are available behind their counter or opt for the drinks from the soda machine. They also have teas. We'll definitely be back. Sorry but the food was sub par. I grilled shrimp were good, but the sauce was a little bitter. I ordered the spicy salmon salad. The dressing was good but the salad came with huge slices of raw carrots and cucumbers. How are you supposed to eat that. The salmon wasn't even grilled, it looked and it tasted like it was cooked in a pouch in the microwave. My husband ordered the WaBa bowl. The beef was good and the chicken was ok. We had an order for pick up for 4pm yesterday 07/08/2022. Around 3:50pm, we had a family emergency where my family was involved in a car accident and had major injuries. We were not able to pick up the food and I did not have time to call because of everything that was going on. I explained to Manager TONY about the emergency we had and apologized for not calling. I asked if they can make the food again so we can pick it up. My husband is the only one that works and we have four kids. money is tight and we had an emergency. He stated, "since we made the food, and had to throw it away i can't do anything about it." He was not sympathetic and not understanding. Usually I don't eat in restaurant a lot but today, I was called by Mr. Sunny for electrical issue. After I did my job, he offered me a free meal especially when he knew that I never tried it. We briefly stopped by here to pick up food before continuing north and it was very delicious, speedy, and fulfilling. My partner and I both got the veggie/rice bowl with chicken/beef. The rice was cooked perfectly, veggies were noticeably fresh, and the chicken and beef were cooked well and tender. We really enjoyed the seasoning as it wasn't overbearing, and was flavorful without being salty. The spicy sauce was also a pleasant addition to the vegetables and the other two sauces were also amazing but overall the sauces are not needed if you don't want a sauce. So disappointed, I love waba grill, but this place was so far the worst I've had. I ordered 6 bowls and was very disappointed. First off, the salmon was stiff and cold and bland. I ordered it with brown rice and got white. All the bowls had minimal amount of chicken compared to other places I've gone to. I also ordered a miso soup and it was very bad. Excellent food and service too! I ordered the salmon plate with avocado and my hubby had the short ribs and avocado and we shared. We also ordered a side of shrimp and a miso soup. Everything was cooked to perfection and a half orange and kale salad finished the plate off nicely. Can't say enough about this place! Easy on and off the I-5 freeway both north and south directions and this is real food people!! Sonny and his crew provided excellent customer service and the bathrooms were clean! Absolutely TERRIBLE! Ordered on Grubhub and so many items were missing when it was delivered. I called WaBa to let them know and Eduardo said it's NOT HIS PROBLEM and there was no manager available. Eduardo cussed at me on the phone and was completely unreasonable. I called Grubhub and they said the missing items were not in the driver's car. They will be refunding me for the missing items. WaBa in Castaic is absolutely not a place you want to order food from. Horrific customer service. How can they be so rude to their customers? I love coming to this place. I cook a lot of healthy food at home and it is very hard to find places that cook healthy away from home, this is one The healthiest places anywhere. So whenever I am working out here during the school year because I work in the schools, I come here for lunch regularly and I mean regularly. May I recommend the number 15: the Rice Veggie Bowl, which consists of brown rice, roasted chicken and heated vegetables, I like this because there are some other franchises of this restaurant that do not heat the vegetables! Sunny, the manager, is very concerned with the quality; he always comes over to say hello; he will come up and talk to you if you're sitting by yourself; he's very personalable and makes the environment happen. I'm not claiming they do, but I think they add MSG on their food. I always get sick after a Chinese buffet restaurant and I know they add MSG. But when I go to Chinese restaurants that don't add MSG AND I order the same exact food, I don't get sick. So, with that in mind I know the type of sickness I get when I eat MSG. After eating at this WaBa Grill after been wanting to go for so long, I immediately got sick. The headache was terrible to deal with and I was at work (I work with computers and it was hard to look at the screen). I felt super nauseous. The worst kind of nausea I've ever had after eating MSG. I just felt the urge to throw up every 10 minutes, I managed to not, but it was very uncomfortable. MSG is an additive to make the food taste better, but the saddest part was that the food wasn't even that yummy. I ordered the half steak and half chicken. I love Asian food and I love Yoshinoya, Hungry Ninja, and similar places, but this WaBa Grill was not good. read more
