Worst fucking customer service EVER!!! i called in to place a chicken plate and she charged me for two??? i walked back in and she said she couldn't give me a refund for one of them because the manager wasn't there and i'd have to come back another day? for a refund?? THEN she said "oh wait, she'll just sign off on it and you can get a refund tomorrow" as if she was trying to get me the hell out of the store. Seriously ruined my mood. I come here 1-2 times a week. This time I went was really bad compared to others. I asked the cashier if she can ask the cook to put on gloves as she is tapping her long finger nails on the inside of a bowl she is about to serve rice into, which after she's asked to put gloves she still continues to use the same bowl and serves rice into it. Then she proceeds to the meat section and sees me watching her so she laughs putting on 1 glove and makes a comment to the others as if I'm being unreasonable. The cashier says something else to her and she (very young cook) puts 2 gloves on. Now on to the food, I always get the rib-eye steak plate. The meat was VERY dry and the steamed rice was like rice from the day before, dry and crunchy and there was no dressing on my salad. It amazes me how great the service is when a business first opens. During my first visit, I received good service and the food was terrific. I got the Chicken Rice Bowl. If I had done the review back then, I would have given them at least 4 stars. The second visit - still great food, but the service was mediocre. I tried calling in my order, but no one ever answered. When I approached the register, I stood there for a good 3 minutes before anyone took my order and there were at least 3 people working. I got the Chicken bowl with veggies that time. The chicken was still amazing, but the veggies weren't tasty at all. During the third visit - which was last night - I waited behind a couple. When it was my turn, the guy who rang them up said he'd be with me in a minute. Since I'd been there for at least 5 minutes, I was ready to order, but I waited and didn't say anything. Then I noticed the cashier cough into his hand. I watched him, to see if he'd wash his hands, because it looked like he was about to prepare a meal. There was another employee there, but he didn't even acknowledge me. I may have been dressed in sweats, but damn - I'm not ugly. The same guy who coughed into his hand, then ran his hand over his face. BTW, he never put on gloves. When I saw him grab a bowl and open the rice cooker, that's when I bounced! How disgusting! Your a food business and you have employees who don't know how to handle food. Coughing into your hand, touching your face, then you're about to prep someone's food - all the while there are customers ready to order and at least 2 employees behind the counter. I've never worked in food service, but even I know you're supposed to wash your hands before handling food. I think this was my last visit to this Waba Grill, which is a shame because the chicken is so good. read more

I like what they're trying to do, but it just won't work. I came in and ordered their signature plate which was the waba plate. They told me they ran out of beef, so I tried to make a substitution and the programmed employee couldn't comprehend. A robot that couldn't compute a simple request if it wasn't programmed to do so. She wanted to sell me a side, how hard is it to substitute an item??? We got our food and it tasted ok, the problem was the lack of organization. No soy sauce, no substitution, no beef. Idk, this place customer service is up and down. Many times I came and their was no one in there and other times they were busy. Service there is some days quick and friendly other days long and rude. It's never consistent. I do want to say that their was a person working there who went above and beyond. I'm not sure her name (Jasmine) I believe not sure but she was awesome. She brought our food to us, if I needed something she was on it. She had went to the restroom so I asked one of the cooks behind the counter to grab something and they acted like they couldn't find it but after she got out of the bathroom she was right on it. The food is amazing and healthy. Other than that, the employees make me want to never come back. I don't know if this is these kids' first jobs but they really should upgrade their customer service standards. Walked in: no greeting, okay that's fine they're probably busy. stood at the counter for a good two minutes while they argued on who was gonna help me out, they choose the guy in the back who seemed nervous to talk to a girl while the other girl walks out to her break. He didn't meet my eyes or speak directly to me the entire order. I smiled as I said "that's all thank you", no smile back, no ending phrase or anything. This is the only place that serves anything near healthy in my area, which is why I keep coming back. I know the managers and owners wouldn't want their customers dreading going into the store to order food so I hope this review helps in any way. read more

Let me start by saying, no matter how good the food is, bad service makes you lose customers. Service and hospitality takes no effort. I enter the restaurant. The guy in front of me orders two chicken bowls, girl at the counter yells it out to the cook and she's still putting on her hat and getting ready while talking to the customer. Not engaged at all and obviously late for work. I order 1 chicken bowl, she takes my payment and hands me my receipt and yells out two chicken bowls. I said I only ordered one. She had the audacity to tell me "Well you said two." I politely said, "I'm pretty sure I said one, the guy before me ordered 2." She replied again, this time in front of her manager, "No you didn't, you said two that's why I rang it in that way." A clear mistake and no ownership or accountability. For the lead/manager to not say anything or apologize for the way she spoke to a customer was also shocking. So I didn't make it a big deal since that behavior is ok to management and because the manager refunded me and I got my food which was missing the half avocado . This place clearly needs to have training ASAP. Oh but wait, there's more. One of the employees walks in, sits with the customers and starts eating Panda Express . While he's on his break eating Panda Express, he's talking with the girl at the counter. Clearly a distraction that shouldn't be taken place in front of customers. Bad look for WABA. It was our first time hearing of Waba Grill & we were greeted by Maricella. After telling her we didn't know what to order considering it was new to us. Maricella ran down the menu & was so pleasant all the while. She didn't even mind that we were so wishy washy on what to order. But as I saw the cook grilling up the steak that's what I said I'd get. I took unfinished food home & 4 days later it was even more delish. My 4 y/o daughter was telling me she wanted more because it was soo good with a thumbs up as well. Food portions was worth it & tasted delish. I can't tell you enough how happy I was with this establishment & the staff was an A++ in my book. The cooks were on point with the delicious food they were grilling up. I asked for my steak to be well done but not burnt. I got what I asked for & thank you. Little did I know Maricella was the Manager & the way she assisted us with a pleasant tone & smile. It's no wonder she's the Manager. Kudos to the Owner(s) for having such a valuable Employees. Overall the food quality is okay. I ordered the salmon bowl and I was pretty satisfied as it was my lunch and I was hungry. However, my over comment is that upon ordering there is no price for any of their plates or bowls which can be quite deceiving upon paying for your meal. My meal was a bit over $10 for a smaller Panda Express bowl portion. Also the service was satisfactory when I asked it was not clear as far as how they express they just say "it depends on what you order". They need to be more specific on pricing as well as other little things that you would expect from food service like offering if you want your sauce on the side as it is very salty. read more

I really love WaBa Grill. The food is healthy and delicious for fast food. My favorite was salmon up until about three weeks ago when I did the steak bowl. Since then I've been rotating between chicken and streak and steak. (After the gym or on lunch breaks). I wish I could remember names but there this one girl who I've seen on occasion in the mid day who just kills it with customer service and delivering food. Recently however there's been a lack in customer service from the younger employees. They're careless and ignore the customer up until they reach the counter. The bowls have recently been inconsistent with ingredients and meat and as much as that sucks I still enjoy the food. My last two visits I've had to walk up to the counter and remind them that they've forgotten something in my order. That girl that I don't have her name hasn't been in the last two times so I can just tell in the quality of service. read more

As a door dash driver sometimes it is difficult to get in contact with a customer when their information is not provided. I write this review because the lady with long black hair who I think is the manager was not helpful at all when there was an issue with the order. When I went inside to pick up the order she let me know that there was no tea and wouldn't allow me to grab the same brand just a different flavor. She then proceeded to tell me I couldn't leave until I either left the order for someone else to do or that I needed to figure it out. Long story short I left with the order for the customer after having to get in contact with doordash for help. As a "third party delivery person" it's not my responsibility, it's should be the restaurant who gets in contact with the customer who has paid the restaurant to make their order correctly. But as the store manager said "it's not our responsibility" in front of all her other employees. Not a great example and won't be coming here to order my own food. Too bad. I would also like to add that when I was only receiving help from doordash when they called to speak to the manager she said "Oh my God they are so annoying" picking up the phone answering the doordash advisor. If I could give this place a zero I most definitely would. This place is ridiculous. For some reason I keep going back to give them second chances due to them being the only spot I know of that is prep friendly. Let's begin by the horrid smell as soon as you walk threw the door it smells unsanitary that's for sure. The chicken I received was halfway cooked even though I did specify for it to be well done. On top of the fact I also asked for White Meat (chicken breast) yet I received dark meat. Customer service is clearly unheard of. The first time I ever ate Waba Grill was in Palm Springs. My family & I loved it!! The food was delicious the staff was friendly & it was healthy! When I found out they were opening one so close to my house I was very excited! I have a family of 5, with 2 kids under the age of 3, sometimes I don't feel like cooking dinner & this is a healthy option for us when we want to eat out. We were very excited to eat at Waba Grill again & it was definitely not the best experience. First off, there were about 2 people in front of me & I guess the register had run out of small bills so the cashier gave the lady her change all in coins! It had to of been atleast $5-$6, it was like 2 handfuls of coins. Anyways she grabbed a few larger bills after that to go next door for change. It took about a good 8-10 min before I was able to order, idk what the staff was doing but they took a long time to get to us to order. I couldn't understand the guy at the register because he was mumbling. I was looking forward to having a salmon bowl, & they told me that they were out of salmon & they wouldn't be getting another shipment for about another week! So I ended up just ordering the chicken. The food took a while to come out & i guess they were running out of food because the veggies on our plates were like 2 pieces of broccoli & a piece of carrot the rice was cold & mushy & the chicken was cold. It was very disappointed with this location. I will be going back to give it a second chance & I really hope I have a better experience! read more

The food is nasty. Meat/beef has a weird plastic flavor and the chicken has like cartilage or something on some of its pieces. I've probably had waba grill 5 different times and experienced the same thing each time. Save your money and go to the Flame Broiler instead. This does not resemble fresh healthy food at all. The food was good but this place was a mess. After I ordered my food all tables that were open were dirty. I had no choice but to sit at a dirty table. I was going to ask the cashier to clean one for me but there was a line and she was the only one out on the floor. Just gotta be more mindful of the surroundings but the food here is good. read more

As a first time WaBa Grill customer, I stopped in at this new location today to browse the menu. It seemed pleasing and varied, yet simple, with the protein/vegetarian choices and healthful presentations. The place looked good and the prices weren't very high. I picked the Waba veggie bowl to-go, to get a taste of both their steak and chicken, though I'm always reluctant to end up with overcooked, tough chicken. Both meats were delicious and cooked well, which was a relief. The Waba sauce is surprisingly tasty, as is their Sriracha-like house hot sauce. The white rice was also very good, However, I was very disappointed with the vegetables, which I was also looking forward to. The cabbage, carrot, and broccoli were overcooked to the point of being almost soggy, with the cabbage tasting a bit strange. I love veggies that still have bite, as they not only taste good, but provide a different texture. I'm hoping this was just an off day, and that the next time I get a veggie bowl, the veggies will be close to perfect. Please and thank you! read more

Kathleen was super friendly and greeted us. I ordered the tofu veggie bowl and it was delicious. The tofu is grilled with their sauce, has carrots, cabbage, and broccoli, and the bottom of the bowl was filled with brown rice. It was delicious and fresh, and I felt full too.
