That kind of service really stood out and made the experience even better. I went with the large "Build Your Own" poke bowl, which comes with 5 scoops of protein for $16.99--a great deal. For my base, I picked white rice. For protein, I chose a mix of ahi tuna, salmon, and shrimp, which were the only non-marinated protein options available. You also get to pick six mix-ins. I went with cucumbers, pineapple, crab salad, masago, green onion, and seaweed salad. Additional toppings are $1 each, so I added ginger, and avocado for $1.50. They also include your choice of dry toppings at no extra charge. I picked furikake and crispy fried onions. With tax, my total came out to $21.19, which felt like a steal compared to other local spots. For example, my old go-to charges $18.50 for just 3 scoops and adds extra fees for crab salad, which this place includes in the base price. For sauce, I ended up going with the honey avocado blend and a drizzle of teriyaki. The final bowl was bursting with flavor: fresh, well-balanced, and delicious in every bite. It was a generous portion, too, and definitely enough to share. As much as I love poke, I couldn't even finish it. This is officially my new go-to for poke. One of my go to poke places- i haven't had any bad experiences here with the quality of the fish used- their wintermelon tea is so good! The boba was great- not too chewy. Got to be one of the worst Poke places I've ever had. They should remodel to something else. I've given it a few chances because I love poke. There are annoying signs everywhere limiting things and charging more for extra toppings which is terrible and turns customers away - just put less of each in the bowl instead. The best poke places are generous in toppings, and make the customer feel special. Some of the fish is slimy and smells. The rice is soggy. The pineapple and cucumber pieces are too chunky and the sauces aren't that great and don't work well with the bowl for overall flavoring. I never leave reviews but I'm genuinely shocked by this place. My boyfriend and I used to come here almost every week, we absolutely LOVED this place. Recently I think they had a change in ownership, all the staff is new along with some changes that have made it so I won't be coming back. The server was super sweet I have no issue with them, my issue is with the new pricing. They've raised their prices along with giving smaller portions. The biggest issue I have is the new $2 charge per each scoop of salmon. You can get 1 scoop of salmon then anything after is $2 even if it's in your 3/5 scoops you're already paying for. I've NEVER been charged extra for scoops of salmon anywhere that were apart of my 5 scoops. There's also no signage about this new charge. A large bowl and a smoothie today was just about $40 when it was normally $27-$30. Very disappointed and I will not be coming back. read more

I ordered to go. It was ready when I arrived and the service was good, but unfortunately the food was not. The miso sauce that I chose was only over the base (the greens that I ordered). It was not over the entire bowl. Generally speaking, I'm not one to mix up the ingredients in my bowl but rather do so for each bite which meant the taste wasn't flavorful at all. It took me a while to realize that there was indeed sauce in my bowl. After a few bites, I thought they had forgotten to add the sauce. The tako (octopus) that was one of the proteins I ordered was hard and extremely tough, not at all the slight chewy texture I love. The tea that I ordered, strawberry and peach was ok. *This review is for COVID-19 quarantine take out. We were there in July 2020.* We were driving to South Tahoe and we stopped here for lunch. Sacramento/Rancho Cordova is a good stopping point for us since it's about halfway to South Tahoe. It's in a strip mall just a few minutes off highway 50. It's easy to find. It's right next to Five Guys. My husband and son went to get burgers and my daughter and I got poke bowls. When we pulled up to this place, my family recognized it right away. They have been here once before on their drive to South Tahoe. My first time here and we loved our lunch! They are using many safety cautions - every staff was wearing masks and gloves, you put your order on a sheet and pass it to them, there are baskets of sanitized pens and used pens, etc. And then you exit the door you came in through and go to the pick up area which is accessed by different door on the other side. I ordered two large bowls: This is what was in them, fried garlic, fried onions, jalapenos, furikake, massago, oshinko, pineapple, white rice, ahi tuna, salmon, spicy shrimp, ponzu, signature poke sauces, ahi tuna, shrimp crab salad, cucumber, edamame beans, green onions, massage, seaweed salad. The large bowl comes with five scopes of protein, and you get up to 15 toppings. I believe it was very delicious and a lot of protein and toppings no shortage there, just the way I like them. I was a little disappointed as it did not have enough sauce, so as you get to the end of your bowl, it's a little dry, but everything was excellent, and I will be going back for more. Literally the only poki place that I'll drive 30 mins to. The food is amazing and you get to choose how it's made with a checklist they give you. Unlike other poke, this restaurant charges them for less than $20 and isnt super bitter and gives a generous amount every time. I love how friendly and quick the service is. So I was really surprised to learn that this Poké place was now opened?! I remember this place being a Mr. Pickles previously. One of my staff members walked in with a bowl of food she ordered. Brown rice , seaweed noodles that were crunchy and other stuff that I don't even remember the name of it but it looks so good. Didn't order any tea. I will have to come back and try.. I gobbled my food, fish veggies and noodles. By that time I was to the Brown rice I could not finish it. To top it off I added spicy sauce & Furikaki which was so darn good! Hi-y! So we went to Poke And Tea yesterday--I haven't been to a Poke eatery in a while so I more or less came into it with no expectation. The eatery used to be a Mr. Pickle so the layout was similar--easy to see the counter's food toppings, easy to communicate with your server and the place was clean. I went to the restroom to wash my hands first and the bathrooms were clean! An employee was actually cleaning the sink and was very polite. We ordered 2 large and 1 regular bowls...and the proportions of tuna, shrimp, tamago, and all the other stuff was pretty generous. The service was good and when we finally sat down to eat--the food was really tasty! The sauces were memorable and the fish was fresh. Oddly enough I really liked the rice at the bottom after the sauce had drizzled down. The tuna was cold and tasty, and the crab was really flavorful for a side. The lady server was very polite accommodating to me--considering I really didn't know what wanted--just so many options. The prices were what all poke places charge so it kept on the status quo, but am very happy of a local Poke place. We later got 2 desert drinks on a separate ticket and they were good, but not the same as specialty boba places. Overall 4 stars! Gotta love the local business! read more

When visiting my friends, we were looking for near by boba place. We suddenly realize how close this place is and on a plus side it is a poke place. We went the day before thanksgiving around noon and this place was empty. I was doubting on how great this place was. We were already there so as decided to try it out still. If you're not familiar with poke, you order the size, get the carb base, then your proteins and other sides you want. Poke is a Hawaiian thing, but this place was ran by an Asian that doesn't seem like he came from Hawaii, but I could be wrong. I got the regular bowl, half brown and half kelp noodles. The kelp noodles was crunchy and not really what I liked. I think I won't be getting that next time. The 3 scoops of protein I got was salmon, ahi tuna and spicy shrimp. The salmon was good, the ahi tuna was kind of on the fishy side, so I guess it wasn't that fresh and the spicy shrimp need a bit more spice to it. The two sauce I got was their special sauce and the honey avocado sauce. The avocado sauce just tasted like honey mustard to me. Oh well. The sides are all good. It's just the typical sides. We also got boba. I got the matcha boba with a salted sea foam on top. It was pretty good. And very satisfying. One thing about the boba here is that you can't really order it your way. We try to get light ice but apparently the guy making it say we are unable to because the tea would be hot. We can only get all ice or hot tea boba. It was weird that someone doesn't know about light ice. Also be careful drinking the boba when you first puncture it. The plastic thing will come off, and you will suck it up. I ordered a large poke bowl to go. After the server/cashier placed half salad and half brown rice into the bowl, she placed the 5 protein choices into the bowl. Her was thumb touching the rim of the bowl, slightly touching whatever was being placed near the edge of the bowl. Then she squeezed the sauces in a circular motion into the bowl instead of marinating/mixing the proteins in a separate bowl. This incorrect way of mixing the sauce made the rice soggy and did not season the proteins. When I lifted the lid off the bowl, I noticed a live insect that looked like a cross between a mosquito and a fruit fly on a piece of cucumber. I should have taken a picture of it, but I already threw it out the window in disgust and terror. The choices of sauce are not flavorful. That was a traumatic lunch. This wasn't a normal boba cup, it's hard plastic and a hard lid. I punctured the lid with the boba straw and I didn't realize the plastic fell into my drink! I like this spot for a quick poke fix. I generally go in closer to closing which I feel bad about but the staff accommodates without worry. Their selection is good, food is fresh and the serving sizes are pretty comparable to other Poke in the area which is good because it is generous for sure. They don't have a lot of "Extra" stuff to offer, other than Boba and that's A-OK because they focus on the good stuff without distraction. I wish more people would go here, It never seems to be crazy busy, but they are smack dab in a food mecca and I feel they don't get the attention they truly deserve.
