This spot is exceptional. I have had a lot sushi in my time, and I have always thought what sets a sushi restaurant apart from the pack is their attention to detail. The garnish and sauce for each roll is unique. I've eaten nearly 3/4 of the menu in my few visits and the individuality of rolls and flavors makes each trip exciting and refreshing. They also have killer happy hour deals all day on Sunday. The service has always been fantastic and the ambience is cozy but high-energy, even if you're the only group in the restaurant. So, I was a bit hesitant once I had seen sky sushi turn into " Aiko". I am not sure why they decided to rename the restaurant, but its still under the same ownership! We thought we'd give Aiko a try thinking it was a new restaurant. Upon walking in, I noticed everything still looked the same, even the menu! Our server, Lai had informed us that everything was still the same but they now offer happy hour all day on Sundays! What a win! We decided to try the crispy spicy tuna roll, the ronin roll, and the chicken karaage. Everything was great, however I wasn't a fan of the crispy spicy tuna roll. It was nothing to write home about and I thought the added sweet chili sauce made it basic. "The ronin roll and the chicken karate however, were amazing! so much flavor and the chicken was perfectly crispy which paired well with the dipping sauce. I have been meaning to try this place for a while now and finally got around to it on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is not too big but easily located off the freeway and plenty of parking within the plaza. The service was amazing where they were attentive, but not overbearing and the quality of the fish is great for its price! I highly recommend the chirashi bowl and the only critique I would have is to serve it in a bigger bowl because it was a little difficult to eat. However, the chef's choice selection was awesome and I really do enjoy it when they actually name each fish. They also do happy hour all day on Sunday so I tried two of the Rolls and it was solid. After a 4.5 hour hike, we decided to find a refreshing sushi restaurant. We decided to stop in. We were greeted and waiter was very professional, and polite. Delicious and HUGE servings! Had lunch here today with 5 buddies. The food was very delicious! The portions are HUGE and very yummy! We saw a couple of the bento box combos and they were definitely two to three meals worth of food in the serving size! Super yummy! My new favorite sushi restaurant! When I tell you everything tasted so good even the wasabi was something I loved. We ordered Geso (so fresh and well seasoned), gyoza (I've never had one like it and it was really good), and cucumber salad (I could have drank the sauce the put on it). We got four rolls: Slap happy, Scallop Maniac, Let me take a selfie, and Show me your love. The Scallop Maniac was my favorite but each roll was so good. I don't know if this is a me thing but at other places all of the rolls end up tasting the same, here all of the rolls were so unique and distinct tasting. The best thing offered was the sashimi platter. I highly recommend getting the large because we got the small and it was not enough. The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth quality. I would 100% be going back and trying other rolls. Our server was 10/10 but I also noticed the other servers engaging with their tables and I took a mental note of how great the service is. Walking in you are greeted with a Japanese greeting. The server was prompt in informing you to sit where you like. We must have came in on a bad night because they are out of a lot of items. No uni, no hamachi, and no kanpachi. When asking if this is a regular occurrence the server said it isn't. Onto what we ordered. Nigiri: Otoro, tobiko with uzura, and bluefin tuna. Rolls: Lion King, Slap Happy, and Smoky Aiko. Everything was so fresh and the rolls were so tasty. The location is alright. It's in the middle of a shopping center near a bunch of other shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. There is plenty of parking so that won't be an issue. He told us to try the garlic edamame and was he right. I have never had anything that tasted quite like this dish. The sauce it was served in was so good I drank it like a juice. Absolutely amazing. 5 stars for this dish alone. The sushi rolls were large and they give you like 12 rolls! Insane portion sizes!!! I can't name another sushi place that gives you the large rolls with this many. You will be full walking out of here. The fish tasted very fresh. All the ingredients were packed with flavor. The sauces were nice and drizzled. They had the right amount of crunch and warmth. The flavor was divine. On top of that, we ordered a beer pitcher and sake bomb for way less than I've had anywhere else. The rolls were $7 and $8 each unheard of in this economy. A dinner for two people is about ~$25 before tip making this a ($). Their prices are dirt cheap, I wish I could give a sixth star. The quality and flavor of the food far surpass its price tag. My sister and I took our mom to the Berry Fest in Woodland on Saturday, then did some shopping in Rancho Cordova. It was in the 90s, and we were overheated and exhausted--just really needing a good dinner. I'm so glad we chose Aiko's! The moment we walked in, it was cool and refreshing inside. He made us feel comfortable asking questions, and even though the place was busy with multiple birthday celebrations, he stayed on top of everything. Now, the sushi: I got the Smokey Aiko and absolutely loved the rich smoky aftertaste. My sister had the Lemon Crispy, which had this vibrant citrus flavor she really enjoyed. I felt extremely bad for the two waiters and one waitress working the Friday night we were there. And then there were probably two chefs? Came here on a Saturday afternoon and luckily there was no wait time. One of the best sushi experiences I've had thanks to both the service and food. The menu is pretty extensive so there's options for everyone. I ordered the playmate roll which has spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, cilantro and lemon on the inside with avocado, seared tuna, seared albacore on top then drizzled with multiple sauces. I also got the Thats how it is roll which is avocado, albacore and cream cheese on the inside with tuna and salmon on top then finished with jalapeño salsa. The rolls were so good!
