Since we got there so early, we had ordered from their cafe and their lattes were nice to sip on while walking through their edible garden! I really liked our server, a ginger man, very kind and quirky and it felt personable which I enjoy, he told us about being a Michelin recommended and I'm glad to have experienced it! For starter, I got the smoked salmon hash, and that was filling enough and very fresh! I had ordered their Philly cheese steak with auju and it was sooooo filling, I love a hearty breakfast, but I could only finish one half. I ordered their local sausage patty and it was nice and Smokey and savory! The grits were chunky and cheesy which I really enjoyed, everything was great! Love it! My partner ordered a classic breakfast and their maple bacon is sooooooooo good, I told him he needed to learn to make it because I want more! Their fruits seemed home grown and I really appreciate their decor of sexy veggies on the way! Such a cool place to eat and hang out!

Cracker Barrel would have been a step up. Haven't been to this hipster, that has turned into more of a tourist trap breakfast cafe in years and probably won't go back anytime soon. Salad was basically a lettuce mix with nothing else? Added shrimp was ok. I guess a restaurant can cruise on a reputation that they once had for awhile(?) until folks realize it's just not that same restaurant anymore. Still a cute venue. Bottom line an overpriced mediocre hospital cafeteria meal that could have been a good meal with a little bit of TLC (tender loving care)...

I am so proud of my partner for picking this place because I love eating hearty for breakfast! The Steak Benedict was delicious, I recommend it because the flavor of the steak was noticeable even through the sauce and the portion is quite generous and just overall excellent! My partner ordered homemade corned beef and it was massive!! We ordered cocktails of Bloody Mary that was well garnished & ordered their seasonal special of beet cocktail and just one glass was enough, it had such a refreshing taste! I highly recommend and excellent service with multiple servers helping, we had a main server that was great and we had someone fill our glasses and someone else take our empty plates out of the way!

It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. Great food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable upscale atmosphere. This was the best meals we had in the area.

Comfortably tucked away behind their own relaxation facade, this location in downtown is the definition of good ole' southern cuisine, cozy and welcoming environment, with service unmatched! Our two dishes ordered = perfection! Service = unreal. Maya was incredible. She made this experience (already a great one as soon as you walk in) to beyond comprehension. She delivers a type of service and expertise that I've only experienced in other places like Inn at Little Washington or French Laundry. Maya, you were awesome! Thank you. First, a logistics tip for anyone else visiting: give yourself plenty of extra time to find parking, as it takes a while to hunt down a spot down here. Also, double-check that you are making your reservation for the right location! There are a couple in the area and it can get confusing quickly. As for the food, my meal was quite good. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and grits, and everything on my plate was delicious. However, my husband's meal was a bit of a letdown. He had the chicken and waffles--he felt his chicken was on the overcooked side, and the waffle itself had the texture of pancakes rather than being crisp. Service was also a bit slow during our visit. The most frustrating part was noticing that our food came out after a table of four that had actually been seated after we were. It was worth a try while we were in town, but given the service pacing and the hiccups with my husband's food, I don't think we'd head back on a return trip.
