Even during evening hours, customer service is always great at this location. Once in a while, when I crave some breakfast foods in the evening, Waffle House off Jimmie Dyess is my go to. I usually get and recommend the all star special. It's gives a little bit of everything starting from a waffle, 2 eggs, choice of protein, and home fries. The food is a little oily & greasy, but that's part of the Waffle House goodness! You do get a choice of bread, but I opt out. After hours, you're not able to dine in, but their to go orders are fulfilled pretty quickly. I never waited more than 10 minutes. First thing I want to say is, I love Waffle House! The breakfast or dinner menu. The service as far as the waitress was disappointing she spent more time in the back room than she spent with us. We were there for about an hour and a half. When I received my order a Texas Grilled Chicken Melt, the bread was burned. I can't believe that I had never visited a Waffle House in the 22 years of my life, but let me say- Its never too late to make the discovery. From Coaxing Jokes to Fast and almost telepathic Service, the folks running the place did not disappoint. Being a Supervisor for a local restaurant for 2+ years, had I ever been given a chance to poach this staff for myself, Id have done so in a heartbeat. The food was very good and it was so fast and friendly. I got two orders of biscuits and gravy and I got some bacon. It took a little doing to get my coffee refilled but not bad. Waffle house is always a good place to stop to eat. read more

My mom, my sisters and my husband and I went to this waffle house, and the service was terrible. For one, my mom's bacon was burnt so bad that it was black , my husband had hair in his sandwich. My sister had hair in her scrambled eggs and they only took one of the meals off and the cook offered to cook it again and he wasn't wearing a hairnet and he had an attitude then we accidentally left my sisters phone and called the waffle house and told them that we left it there and they lied and said they didn't have it and when we walked in this waiter girl gonna be like oh yeah I found your phone after they just told us they didn't have the phone, what a horrible place I don't recommend anyone should eat there and don't accidentally leave your things there because obviously they're not truthful people that work there. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I appreciate and support all WH workers especially on Christmas Day EXCEPT Sarah who works here. I go up there to get my food I ordered and there's no bacon that I ordered...okay cool no worries, it's a busy day, I'll just go back up there and get it. The server apologizes profusely, and they remake my order. The bacon is burnt, to the point where it's not edible. I go up there and kindly request a refund. Then Sarah's bad built, big back self is gonna say "I gave you your 48$ refund so you can stop crying about it." Nobody told you to work at WH let alone on Christmas. I ordered bacon cheese burger with hash browns add cheese and chili. I get back to my hotel room and no bacon on burger and nothing added to hash browns. When I ordered my server asked and double checked so I know she heard me but she said let me go find my cook. I left out to take care of a couple things at my truck come back in and the cook is bragging how good he is and everyone else doesn't do what they are supposed to but I was charged for everything I asked for didn't receive any of it and paid $1.15 to and $1.15 to go supplies. I wish there were separate ratings for food and service. First the good - I ordered a dark pecan waffle and hashbrowns cooked well done with cheese/onions. Both were well cooked and delicious. The best food from a Waffle House in this area - by far. Now to the bad...the service was HORRIBLE! We walked in and no one acknowledged us for over 5 minutes despite the fact that they were standing around chatting. After ordering our food the wait was about average. Once our food was ready one of the servers packed it up, dropped it down on the counter next to some other people and walked away. It took us a few minutes to realize it might be our order because no one said anything. So I asked and they looked at me as if I was supposed to have known. On top of that we had to ask for our drinks - which they pointed out were at the end of the counter. No where near us. Overall the service or lack of really ruined this visit for us. Came in with my daughter & my niece. My daughter found a hair cooked into her hash browns with cheese. The night manager, Brian, tried to make me pay for it and I refused. He then called me a stupid ass hoe & a bitch. I kept my cool. He threatened to call Columbia County in me if I didn't pay. I told him to call. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any Waffle House. He shouldn't be cooking. The hair from his neck dropped into my daughters food because he's too nasty apparently to cut it. He was more worried about the football game than his place of work. Aim high Brian. You're a real winner. You'll the highest you'll ever be. I didn't stoop to your level because I am so much more above you. Shave your neck plz so the next people don't have to suffer your nastiness. My scrambled eggs weren't even cooked all the way. Cracker Barrel had a long line going outside this fine morning-after-Christmas, so my family decided to to down the street to this here fine dining establishment. The food-when we finally got it-and for those who DID get it, tasted good...my poor husband didn't get his plate until we were all finished. And what he DID get was completely all wrong. Coffee tasted extremely burnt and it took an act of congress to get a refill. We think the server is brand new, her name Is Keely. She was almost overbearing at first, leering over our table and leaning across me to put the silverware down. After that, she was inconsistent with checking on us. We may be her first customers ever, or just first people she has ever interacted with (if you can call it that) in life. The element of feeling welcome and down home personality that one usually receives in a restaurant like Waffle House was extremely lacking. We wish we would've gotten the server next to us that actually talked to the kids at that table. Ours didn't even acknowledge them. We are leaving now, my husband never got his corrected food...and he is fed up with waiting for cheese n eggs. This place is effin terrible. read more

so I've decided that Waffle House is a pretty good thing for me. the food is all cooked right in front of me, I can get filled up vegetarian style without any hassle, and I can get lucky once in a while and be the only person in there, which is exactly what happened last weekend. my server "Disney" was great - but everyone working was equally involved - the line cook was hilarious and super friendly. we talked about MMA and UFC, the other server was equally hilarious, I wish I could remember their names. they were just awesome people, gave awesome service, and the food - yeah, hard to screw up a blueberry waffle, 2 eggs, toast, grits, and hash browns instead of bacon or sausage. I planned to run in, knock out some work on the lappy and hit it, and ended up sitting at the bar helping the line cook figure out good excuses for calling in sick to his other job. he does tattoos as well, and I'm all tattooed up so that was fun conversation. the manager "Steve" was the topic of discussion quite a bit, but in a very good way. I got the impression he was like an uncle or second dad to these kids running the place, and likely very hands on. he showed up before I left and put on an apron ready to do battle. good manager! after about an hour and a half I realised I was about to be running late for an 8 pm engagement, but that's because I was having fun! by the time I left I was pouring my own refills of coffee and making plans for next time I'm in town to stop in and say hay! super clean restrooms, totally chill atmosphere, I left my lappy and wifi gear out on the bar while I went out to smoke a few times and never for a second worried about it. I never really considered eating at a Waffle House, but this was truly enlightening. now that's my thing, get to town, find a Waffle House. there's no way any of them will measure up to this one, but I've been to two more since. Steve, if you're reading this, that crew you had on last Sunday 08 August at 7pm (one of them is Disney) ROCKS!!! Waffle House, if you're reading this, you've got a new fan not because of the food, which is good but hard to review because it's so generic, but because of the STAFF. next time I'm in Augusta I will be back, and will likely end up taking a couple of those kids out drinking. read more
