We wanted to try the Waffle House because I heard good things about the locations in Knoxville. We stopped off I-75 in Corbin on the way home and spotted the restaurant pretty close by. What a disappointment ! The place was just plain dirty, our waitress had stained clothes and then just disappeared. The windows were so gross we avoided looking out. Bathrooms had not been cleaned and were disgusting. Used paper napkins on the floor under the tables. In short, the health department better check this one out soon. read more

This is my other town go to spot for breakfast. I like the staff here and it's usually pretty calm. The food can be a bit crispy, but meh... it's Waffle House. No drama here and the coffee is good. Pros & Cons: Pros: Good food, Clean restrooms, Quick to serve. Cons: Cook was cleaning and used hoes, he sprayed us at least 2 times. The dish area is right in front of your face, it's awkward to eat when you're face to face with the dish washer. When I wake up for breakfast at 6am, I don't wanna hear Eminem and rap playing. If my family or children are there we shouldn't be listening to rap and stuff while we eat. Lady cooks make your food, serve your food and everything without hairnets. Usually I'm a waffle house fan. Bubby's across the street was our first choice, but looked like it would be a long wait. Being Mothers day, and traveling Waffle house is typically fast and the food is good. Walked in and we were acknowledged. That was good. All we seen was 6 workers backs and one of the workers kids laying below the stools, asking his mom if we could leave yet, and then told her she was lying everytime she said 5 more minutes.. TWENTY minutes later a waiter finally arrived at our table, by this time we'd already planned our food so we could hopefully speed things up. HA!! Yay our order was taken we can finally use the restroom!!! No one ever brought our drinks, I had to request them. I thought great things were happening when I seen our toast go down in the toaster. I knew it was ours because there was 4 pieces and 2 of them raisen. 3 minutes later toast pops up, our food must be almost done, we're famished!! HA! 10 minutes later my plate is brought out, you guessed it, the toast and hashbrowns colder than a spring day in Canada.. Eggs weren't as cold but you could tell they had been done a few minutes.. Now my bacon was hot!! I told my friend that it's a good thing you got gravy on your hash cause that will be the only thing warm.. Oh I cannot forget the grits that never came.. The waiter did tell us it be a few, but we just wanted the heck out of there, as we'd been there an hour already. So, if you don't mind cold hashbrowns and toast, and lack of attention from waitstaff, along with waiting 45 minutes for some eggs. Eat up enjoy the cold food.. To the management, train your employees! Your in business to serve us customers, we want acknowledged, we want hot food, we want our drinks after we order, we want to see you clean dirty tables.. PS there were 6 employees, not one giving decent customer service. This was between 2pm to 3pm on Mothers day, and there was only 5 customers being served.. This is the first time I have ever been to this Waffle House at this location. I don't have any thing but good things to say about this place. I was greeted promptly by the server and the order was taken quickly. When my food arrived I noticed that it was cooked properly and it was very tasty. Overall this Waffle House was probably one of the best that I have experienced. When in the area I will certainly remember to stop here again if I am hungry. My only complaint would be that the ladies restroom was out of order and everyone had to use the men's restroom which made it in need of being cleaned. ZERO STARS Again it happened, I called to place an order and your people dont want to work. I called to place my order and these people picked up the phone and left it off the hook so they wouldnt have to work. I went there with them still on the phone and they had the nerve to tell me the phone was broke. I asked to see the "broken" phone and they refused to show me it. This is my second stop here, once at 2:00 am in the morning and the staff was so friendly, warm and even put music on the juke box and dance with me to keep me up and awake as I was driving late at night. They gave me unlimited coffee to go and now, on my second trip here, keep in mind is a busy Sunday morning, once again a totally different staff, but friendly and warm and sweet as pie. The place is packed with happy customers. I also noticed that each staff member makes it a point to say hi to everyone. The cook did an excellent job on my order of medium eggs, and the waffle was delicious. There is also a staff member who's job is just to walk around and clean all the doors, windows, and tables .....the place is spotless and the waitresses all call you "hun".... keep checking in, offer you a box...etc. I would be back when driving through Corbin, love this little rest spot.... feeling recooperated and ready to get back on the road read more

I travel pretty constantly and love me some waffle house. but this one seems to not be able to get it together. takes about 20 min to even get a drink when only 3 other people are in house. servers looking at you and not wanting to help.tables are pretty dirty all around and not picked up, just go the extra 45 min to the next one I assure you it will be in your best interest. read more

Best meal we had during our stay to Corbin, KY. Service was excellent. We sat at the counter and we were served immediately. We all went with the standard breakfast fair and it came out fairly quick. Coming from ATLANTA I'm a bit of a WH connoisseur...and this one isn't a good example of WF. Walked in to all empty seats being dirty. Finally they cleaned a booth for us after just standing around in the center of the restaurant. No apologies / and no menus. Sat for another 5 minutes - no greeting / still no menus / much less drinks... so about 10 minutes of time and not so much as a cup of coffee. We decided to leave. Visited this awful WH in August and had a disgusted, horrid experience relating to poor service, poor food quality and cleanliness of the restaurant, that was not overly busy for a WH. Tried to complain to the manager on duty, which did no good as he/she refused to even come to the table. Wrote a lengthy email to the corporate office which went unanswered. On December 29, 2013 my husband and I entered into the Waffle House in Corbin, KY. We were not greeted as we entered nor were we acknowledged as customers in the restaurant. We are a black couple and we were in a predominantly white town. The waitress and the cook never once asked us what we wanted to drink, we never received silverware. It was as if we were invisible to them. We felt as though we were not offered anything or greeted because we are black. I guess it's a good thing that we didn't order anything because there is no telling what they would have done to our food. I say to them get over yourself this is a new millineum and we as black people are not going anywhere. I pray that God will give you guidance to accept the things you cannot change.
